Boca Grande Lighthouse

one of the most beautiful places I have wver been. The museum is very interesting and there were tons of shells on the beach!

OK look, it’s not the most spectacular attraction you will ever see, it’s a two story little light house on an inlet, but I have to recommend it. If for nothing else, than the drive out to Boca Grande will take you to a corner of Florida that should only exist in our memories now. Boca Grande and the lighthouse have that ‘end of the road’ Florida feel you get in Key West or Glades City. Just a little closer and tamer.
The lighthouse itself is gorgeous and well preserved. It’s got a little museum in it that’s good for some kicks, but it won’t take you more than a few minutes to walk through. The beach is amazing and even though you can’t swim there the views are incredible and worth the drive.
I love exploring off the beaten path in FLA and the trek down to the Boca Grande lighthouse is well wort the drive.

Boca Grande Light House is beautiful. The park has a great view and beach. The water is beautiful. The Light is well preserved and is a great place to visit. I love light houses and this is most definitely a must see. The vegitation around the light is also fascinating. Flowers and sea grapes and the dune grasses make for great images.
The only thing that was a draw back for me — was you can not climb the stairs up to see the light lens.

The Boca Grande Lighthouse is located all the way at the end of Boca Grande. Here you will find a wrap around beach and a lot of sea shells. This is a great spot for fishing but due to the strong currents, swimming is prohibited. If you make the drive to Boca Grande, this is a must sea. Bathrooms are located next to the parking lot.

This place was awesome!
It has a few small rooms which contain old photos, shells, skeletons (not as creepy as it sounds) and books. The gift shop is tiny and at the end of all the rooms, and as far as price goes, it is the most affordable. They have these really cool t-​shirts that look plain black and white, but when you go out into the sunlight, color appears all over the shirts. They have beautiful jewelry, maps, books, and other little trinkets that are really cool. We are going back today with more money. :)
