Welcome to the Comedy Attic, one of the country’s best comedy clubs and I’ll tell you why. Picture the classic comedy club with the brick wall, lower ceilings, close knit tables and chairs, and curtains as dividers. Imagine feeling hopeful that the one server you love who is always friendly, quick, and also laughs at the jokes is the one who will be waiting on your table. Envision the cold buckets of beers or their notable drink dessert the Electric Root Beer delivered just as the show begins. Visualize the lineup of comedians: well-known, famous, and/or local, and the laughs! To top it off, this is the only comedy club that has allowed me the opportunity to exchange words and take photos with their guest comedians and for me to give them and the club more respect. This is the experience I have had at the Comedy Attic when I have gone and encourage others to share those laughs and good times, as well.

I went to see Tom Brady for the 10:30 new years eve show, which was amazing! The doors opened a little late, so there was a line of people out in the cold waiting for them to open up. I’m not sure if that is typical or not. My boyfriend and I got seated directly in front of the stage though, so even with the line there was no problem hearing or seeing the comedians. As a first timer to Comedy Attic, I really liked Brad’s «rules», which help make it a fun atmosphere for everyone to enjoy. The drinks were good, a little high in price, but nothing I wouldn’t expect from a comedy club. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and I can definitely see us going back for another show in the future.

Bloomington, you are so lucky. The Comedy Attic is a world-class comedy club that attracts the headliners you’ve been dying to see, the up-and-comers that you’ll be able to brag about seeing when they’re doing their arena tours, and the new, local talent that B-town keeps pumping out because of the Comedy Attic. It’s a well-run place that keeps both customers and comics happy. They handle hecklers with grace and efficiency so everyone can enjoy themselves. If your squad is looking for something to do besides go to dinner and a movie(YAWN), now’s your chance to be a hero: stand-up comedy is always a win here because they book great comics, and great comics are excited to come to the Comedy Attic because they’re treated well. If you’re not a regular here, you’re missing out on one of the best parts of this wonderful town. Plus, there’s an excellent chance you’ll score free tickets to a future show, so you can be a regular for cheap!

The Comedy Attic is usually my night-life go to. If you have a sense of humor, you are guaranteed to laugh at at least one of the comics on the lineup for any particular night. The service is great. There is also a pretty decent drink selection. I love the Top Shelf Teas, but beware, they are $ 8 a drink and go down like water(or something that tastes better than water). You do have to abide by the 2 item minimum policy, which is effortless if you drink. I have found it a bit harder to drink 2 sodas within the time I am there, and even harder to order 2 food items. The food isn’t very good. Actually, to be honest, it isn’t good at all. I regrettably ordered the cheese sticks once, and have sworn off ordering food anymore. It is too expensive for the quality — and the quality is Sysco. If you go ready to laugh, you’re in for a good night. The rules keep the crowd in line and keep comedians coming back. Some of my favorite comedians have been straight outta Bloomington. Get off Unilocal and go and laugh. 4 stars because of the food situation, which could definitely improve.

Indy comedy clubs are closer to me but the little farther drive is worth it. Great atmosphere, cheaper prices! And there headliners are real top notch headliners.

As far as comedy clubs go I think I know a thing or two, I’ve been to at least 4 of them, and I love this spot. Let’s be honest, Bloomington, IN is not a metropolis people are dying to visit, and yet every comedian worth his weight in mithril wants to headline this place. They must be doing something right.

One of the best comedy clubs in the country. You can’t beat the headliners the Attic brings in on a weekly basis, and it’s also the nexus of the truly impressive Bloomington local comedy scene. There ain’t a better place to see a show anywhere.

I was so impressed with my first experience 8 weeks ago that I dragged my best buds out to see Tim Heidecker and Neil Hamburger. Great show! Service was top notch and the food was nice and greasy! I’m already planning my next visit. Their list of upcoming shows is mind blowing. Get you some.

This place was HORRIBLE! I was part of a birthday party – 16 people. This group made up roughly 50% of the audience. The staff told us that we «ruined» their night and criticized us during the show. I’ve been in clubs with hecklers or groups that were rude– we were NOT that group. After complaining about the treatment-the owner continued to blame us. I’ve never seen anything like it. Worse service ever – EVER.

Their website fails to disclose a 2 item minimum purchase requirement during the checkout process, so the price was not actually as stated. We received no notice about the policy until after the show had started. After the fact, I found this on their FAQ page, which people won’t necessarily see before buying tickets: «A charge equal to the two least expensive items on the menu will be added to your bill if you are unable to find a combination of two items.» However, they did not follow their own policy. The least expensive item is a two dollar bottle of water, but we were charged 5 dollars, not four when declining the two item minimum. Finally, the wait staff did not return our change when we paid. This was our first and likely last experience at the Comedy Club. The comedy was decent, but there are other places to have a good time in Bloomington with better business ethics.

Really just a first class comedy club in the middle of Indiana. First class talent and good setting. I’ve seen the best clubs in LA and NY– this as good as they get.

Only been to a few stand ups. First one in Bloomington and I couldn’t stop laughing. Wasn’t even a big name or anything.

I was lucky enough to be visiting Bloomington and someone wanted to take me to the Comedy Attic. The show was hilarious. One local, one nearby comedian, one headliner. Could not have laughed more. My face ached from smiling and my hands stung from clapping. I really like the house rules. They make the show a lot more fun. Sit back, relax, and laugh your butt off. I highly recommend this venue to anybody in striking distance of it.

I’m mainly giving this place 5 stars because of the comedians that I’ve seen here: Rob Delaney and Eddie Pepitone, who are fantastic. However they do it great here, complete respect for performers(heckling will get you kicked out), waitresses are friendly, and you feel about as comfortable as you’d like while laughing your ass off.

Best comedy club in the midwest! Friendly staff and an unrivaled lineup of comedians. Anyone who would give this club less than five stars just doesn’t like comedy.

The Comedy Attic is truly a local gem. Great acts, nice intimate atmosphere, friendly service, reasonably priced and centrally located downtown. Every time I see a show here I have a great time.

Excellent comedy club. I drove 4 hours from Western KY to see Greg Proops. I went to his stand up on Sat. and his Proopcast on Sun. The club is awesome, the people are super friendly, the ticketing process is way better than Ticketmaster’s clusterf. and I had a blast. Thanks for making my weekend a total success.

I love«the Comedy Attic» because they book comedians I want to see! I have to drive 2 ½ hours from Cincinnati when I want to go, so unfortunately I have to be selective and it kills me. But what can I do? The places closer to me don’t book acts I want to see! Lots of live comedy podcast tapings here too which is so great! I have one of those jobs where I just listen to Podcasts all day long so I’m grateful this place exists to check out some of this stuff live. Also, everytime I’ve been there the staff has been really nice and the crowds have been good too! I’ve been to a lot of comedy clubs and i’ve sat next to some real shitty people. Never had a problem at the«Comedy Attic» though. its like the crowds are on the same wavelength as me. Aware appreciative comedy fans. So yeah, I will absolutely give this place 5 out of 5 since my only gripe is that this place isn’t closer to me. Guess thats more my fault than theirs though, huh?

This place should not be rated less than five stars by anyone. There are more than a few regulars, and with good reason. This place brings in some great acts, which is not easy to do for B-town. They often have great deals, too. If you go to a show, you can get a coupon for reduced price or free tickets to some upcoming shows on occasion. They just got their own kitchen up and running, and can deep fry any darn thing you want. One of the highlights is a grilled PB&J which got a hearty thumbs up from my wife. I’m not brave enough to try it. The seating is very snug, but it works. The shows are terrific, and comedians say it’s a perfect room for comedy. If you’r lucky, you’ll get to see Brad emcee, and if you haven’t been before, you’ll get to learn his rules for enjoying a great comedy show. I’ve been to a number of shows, and plan to go back as often as I can!
