I had a great experience here! I got carry out instead of eating in the actual restaurant, but the inside looked clean and visually appealing. It looked like there was also a courtyard in the back where you could eat outside. The food was good, and you get a lot of it. My steak fajitas filled the 3 tortillas they gave me and I had leftovers for the next day. My meal also came with guac, refried beans(very good), rice, pico, lettuce, sour cream, chips and salsa. That seemed like a lot of food for $ 11! The menu is also large with a lunch section and a la carte options. Next time I want Mexican in Bloomington, I’ll go here.

Everything on the menu is delicious. If you ask for any substitutions or customizations, you will probably have problems at first, but if you visit regularly they’ll get to know your orders. The food is absolutely fantastic authentic Mexican. Always fresh. Great quality meat. The sauces on all dishes are delicious, the chimichangas and enchiladas are the most fantastic in Bloomington, and the fresh chips and salsa are also a great addition to the meal.

This is a great place… The fajitas are fantastic and the queso is delicious. The staff are very nice. Ordered Take out three nights in a row and it was ready by the time I walked there, which was only about 10 min.

I’ve been here twice now; the first time, I got the veggie enchiladas and thought they were a little bland. This latest time, though, I got the enchiladas supremas and was much more impressed. The sour cream/tomato/lettuce on top do a great job of lightening four extremely filling enchiladas. My only complaint is that the cheese used throughout the dish doesn’t taste like much of anything. Otherwise, servers were prompt and attentive, the salsa with the initial chips was delicious and tasted fresh, and the bites of other people’s food I had were also very good.

Charged me $ 1 extra for carry-out. They should put a sign on the counter explaining that. Otherwise, food was good. Portions adequate. Salsa top notch.

Great smoky salsa and fresh chips. Enchiladas w/cheese sause, very tasty, topped with succulent, tender pork carnitas FTW.

We went because they had all you can eat enchiladas. I’m still not convinced they weren’t previously frozen. I wasn’t expecting the best enchilada ever but definitely didn’t want hungry man style dinner. The other pics on Unilocal make me think I should try again but I can’t take any more of the midi style tuba music.

The 3 Amigos is an ‘authentic’ Mexican joint located just off downtown. In many ways it’s just like the other places in town though I’d say their salsa is among the best. The rest of the menu is standard with traditional combinations, fajitas, a few specialties, etc. The key difference between this and other restaurants is their courtyard. Request outdoor dining in season and there is a small courtyard behind the restaurant that is a great place to relax and enjoy a quiet dinner. It’s not readily apparent that it exists unless you ask. Both food and service were as expected, and they had a very welcoming attitude.

Good stuff — I ordered the three amigos dip and a chicken burrito loco. Sauces used were very complementary to the rest of the dish. I’ll be back the next time I’m in town.

Went with my girlfriend, she got the pollo con queso and we both loved it! I got the seafood chimichanga and it was very delicious! Salsa is good too! Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Decently priced too, was $ 30 plus tip and we both had an abundance of food. I would have happily paid $ 50

OK – I have a ton of Mexican food all over town. I love to get variety as there are certain elements I crave from each one. For example, some places I love their homemade hot sauces. Other places, the red sauce that drenches the burrito is perfection. Here, it is their salsa. And man do I absolutely crave that stuff! I typically go through two cups of salsa by myself before my dinner is brought to the table. Their burritos are typically good. Nothing too special. Their price on beer is average. They typically have a special but I never go for it. It’s for bottled beer every time I have gone. Why not drink the tap since they have it? I do love this location. It’s right around the corner from many convenient locations… but is also far enough away that you can always get easy parking. I think BEER only

We just had lunch here today Sunday October 25th. We get there about 245 pm and their really good and inexpensive lunch menu runs until 3pm. Not only did we get a lunch special for $ 6.99 we used the get hooked app and that took another dollar off the meal. That meal contained a taco, a burrito and beans with rice and also they provide complimentary chips and salsa which were really good. I on the other hand love what is called Carne Asada Papas which is nothing more than a plate full of french fries piled high and smothered with lots of chopped up Carne Asada and then smothered with good mexican cheeses and then melted in the oven. Served with a side of guacamole and sour cream. Really good stuff. I started eating that out in Southern California years ago, very popular dish at all the Mexican restaurants out there. The Carne Asada they use here is made from Ribeye which is my favorite cut of Steak. They serve coke products Yuck! The owner was there and really nice and he actually took our order and talked to us for a very long time. They made this special dish for me without any complaint. They use the crinkle cut fries which are my favorite. They keep really late hours towards the end of the week and on weekends. We will definitely be going back here. Was a pleasant surprise for a place here in Bloomington with not a lot of Mexican culture here. Definitely my new favorite place to go here in town. Ask for Lupe when you go in he is the owner. It is family owned and ran and those are the best places to eat when dining out.

I’m guessing this place just doesn’t have a lot of reviews because it hasn’t been open long, but it still made me wonder. I went anyway tonight & I will most definitely go back next time I want Mexican food! Our server was very attentive & really on top of the drink refills. They had the IU game on TV& everything seemed clean & colorfully decorated. It’s not huge but they did have larger tables for groups & what not. As for the food, it was really really good. The salsa was good & very fresh(I added hot sauce that was on the table), the chori queso was really good too. It did seem a bit pricier than other places(it was $ 30 for one dip, one coke, & two entrees) but it ended up being so good I didn’t really care. Large portions like at most Mexican places. I got the quesadilla a la diabla, which is cheese, chicken, & chorizo, served with Mexican rice & lettuce/tomato/sour cream. My boyfriend’s daughter got chicken chimichangas which came with the same sides as mine plus beans/cheese. She said it was all really really good… even the beans, which she doesn’t normally like at other places. We both had leftovers & even thought it’s been three hours since we ate, I’m still not hungry so I guess I have some food to look forward to tomorrow!

Just came here for the first time, and we were the first ones for dinner. I noticed that the prices were a little more expensive than other Mexican restaurants around here(i.e. Casa Brava, La Cha). If you’ve been to those other ones, you’re familiar with the cheaper combo meals that are on the back of their menus. 3 Amigos doesn’t have that option, so you had to choose from their more expensive entrees. Their lunch specials looked promising however. The salsa. Wow. Not too chunky, filled with flavor, really fresh. The rest of the meal was pretty average. The waiter seemed distracted.

I’d wavered on going here for a while, but I was so pleasantly surprised by our experience tonight that I can’t wait to go back. The server was friendly, and the food was super tasty. The fresh salsa was flavorful, the cheese dip thick and warm, and our meals were seriously impressive. Mine(seafood chimichanga) included grilled shrimp and crab and veggies in a perfectly crisp shell, while his(pina poblano) was presented in half a pineapple and had a sweet slightly spicy flavor that impressed. Highly recommended … looks can be deceiving!

Gotta love the salsa here. A fresh classic, best in town 5 stars, and they really keep those chips coming. Don’t shy away from the Queso dip. Might be $ 5 but they dial it up in a huge bowl. Some of the best service I’ve had in town, and the entrees are good too. 2 complaints tho: it was way too bright inside and the beer situation isn’t great, they just have bottles and they’re like $ 4 for domestic and $ 5 for imports. Overall good experience though and love the downtown location.

So excited about a new Mexican restaurant opening up downtown! The salsa is one of the best in Bloomington. The lighting was very bright for the atmosphere and I would love to see more mood lighting. The staff was zealous about keeping all drinks, chips, salsa, and all the above on the table. Very friendly!
