Super 8 Bloomington

Please, please, please, I’m begging you. Do. NOT. stay. here. I’m not really the type of guy to go bashing businesses with a bad review, but I need to warn other people about this place and maybe save you a terrible experience.
I stayed here for IU’s 2014 Homecoming because it was one of the few places with a reasonable rate that weekend. So it’s a cheap hotel; you get what you pay for; I get that. But this place isn’t just a «no frills» hotel. It’s downright disgusting.
We checked into our first room and the toilet would not stop running. It was really obnoxious, so we called the front desk to see if they could send somebody up to fix it (I had already tried with no success). The kid told me he was the only employee working at the hotel for the whole evening, so he wouldn’t be able to come up. One employee. On Friday evening of Homecoming weekend. I said I understood, but asked if he could give us a different room.
He accommodated my request and moved us to a different room. My girlfriend walked in to the bathroom of the new room and immediately saw a cockroach on the floor of the shower. Had this not been such a busy weekend in Bloomington, I would have gone to the front desk, asked for a refund, and gone to a different hotel. Because that was not an option, I again asked the kid for a different room. To his credit, he was very apologetic and friendly and once again gave me a new room.
We walk in to the third room and the gf immediately spots a dead cockroach in the toilet. At this point, I try to convince her «maybe it’s the only one in here…» and mid-​sentence I spot another dead cockroach on a lamp shade in the room. So we make the familiar trip to the front desk and ask for a new room. Yes, seriously, fourth room. He once again gave us a new room, and we went to it, thoroughly inspected it, and found a spider, which I killed, but no cockroaches. We slept in that disgusting place for two nights and swore we would never again stay at this Super 8 or any other.
At check-​out Sunday morning, I asked to speak with the manager. I was hoping to ask for, at a minimum, a substantial discount for my stay, due to the circumstances. I was told the manager was not in, but I left my number for her to call me. Surprise, surprise, I never heard from her.
So, yeah, don’t stay here.

Made a reservation, had to cancel and did so correctly, got charged anyway and now having to file a claim with bank. Really really annoying.

I really enjoyed my stay here. nice price, comfy bed, and great staff. my only problem was no real water pressure in the shower. But the room was very clean and the heat worked like a champ!

Let’s just say this place is really disgusting. Our bed was lumpy. The first thing I did when I got there was remove the comforter and ask for extra clean sheets to keep us warm. There were hairs in the ice bucket and my husband took it down to get a new one and the girl just rinsed it out in the sink and gave it back – no soap even…
The breakfast was your run of the mill continental buffet… convenient if you are on a budget but nothing to write home about.
We thought we’d at least take advantage of the indoor pool, which was okay but I had a slimy not so clean feeling that was confirmed when I went into the hot tub to warm up a little and noticed the ring of dirt floating on top of the bubbles as the water jets did their business. I immediately went up stairs feeling betrayed by the Health Department Inspection Certificates hanging in the lobby and sat under a hot shower for at least 20 minutes before I felt decent about life again.
I would not recommend this to anyone and judging from the post traumatic stress I may be suffering due to my newly acquired obsessive-​compulsivity — it may have been worth the extra $ 20 on orbitz to get a nicer place in Bloomington. Just writing about it makes me fret the scourge…

Easy to find, reasonablerate. Great Great SERVICE! – Super breakfast, Stayed here two days and had all the things needed for this visit to Indiana U. Would highly recommend!
