Parma is a 4 star feel with 3 star food. If you are looking for a place to take a client or hot date and want to wow them, take them here. Otherwise great food. I had the clams with linguini. I was told they were known for the dish but I came away with enough garlic on my breath to ward off vampires for the next three weeks. Also for a place called Parma, they needed more parmesan cheese. And we had a party of eight and when our waitress approached she was as silent as a mouse.

My wife and I came here for dinner for their«Date Night»; $ 50 for 2 three course meals. We went on a Sunday night, at 6PM and found it almost empty. However after about an hour it filled up pretty fast(later learned because of the date night specials). Anyway we started with the watermelon salad and fried rice balls. The salad is nothing special, just what the menu states. It did have a nice summer appeal. The rice balls were not as expected. There is very little cheese, and lots of rice. Not much flavor. Also very stingy on the marinara sauce. For the entrée we had the Bucatini Limone and Flat Iron steak. The former was OK. Not much lemon flavor at all, and almost all pasta. There were 4 shrimp and maybe 7 or 8 small leaves of spinach. Flavor was just OK, nothing special. The steak was good and the potatoes were the fingerling type that were barely roasted. Again, OK, but nothing special. For dessert we had the cannoli and panna cotta. Once again, neither was special just OK. Next time I would save my dessert calories for some Ben and Jerry’s ice cream. Lastly, our server was extremely pleasant but the service was very, very slow. All in all I would say that if you live near this place it might be worth a try, but not for the full price menu.

Great ambiance, great service. However, I did not like my entrée, beet fettuccini, mushrooms, and chèvre cheese was nothing special — and– it was swimming in oil. Friends liked their ossobucco. I didn’t realize everything is a la carte; wish waiter had mentioned salads, etc. I think their Sunday Night Date special is a much better deal.

We were sitting literally right next to the piano. A 3 piece band was playing and it was SOLOUD. Which, I guess would be fine if you were there for the music and not the eats or peeps. Since we were there with a group, it was a terrible seating choice. The best part of the night was when they took breaks. The food was good, I guess. I wanted a house made pasta with a spicy kick. The server was great about going through all the pastas and explaining them. She suggested I get the clam linguine. It wasn’t house made, but the sauce and the heat would make up for it. Well… it was basically linguine noodles and clams floating in an oil. Not spicy at all. Her descriptions for other people missed the mark too. I get the feeling she hadn’t tried many of them, but instead went off what other people said about them. However, she was super nice and I liked her. Overall, Parma was a-ok. It’s in an odd location and the bar area where the live music plays is not the best place to seat a group of people that actually want to talk to each other. They don’t have tiramisu which seems very odd for an Italian place.

This is a decent Italian restaurant in the midst of an office complex. For that reason alone, I don’t think I’ll be returning. Taking a trip into the city is part of the enjoyment of a night out for me. The food was decent and the service was solid. I got the osso bucco and really enjoyed it. I also tried the homemade pasta my wife ordered and it was pretty good too. They have live music on the weekends.

This is a late post but better late than never. We came here for my sister’s birthday which also happened to be the last day of restaurant week. The location of this place is kind of in an odd location. Its hard to spot because its in the corner of a really tall building situated in a business-like district near Normandale Blvd. They do offer free parking in the ramps though which is a good thing. I had to study the menu for days thinking about what I wanted to get. When I have to study the menu, it means nothing interests me. I ended up settling for the restaurant week menu because they had tuna tartare as a starter whereas on the regular menu, they didn’t have the tartare. It was actually really good. It was really light and fresh. The tuna was cut into the perfect bite sizes. I wish they would leave that on their regular menu. For my entrée I ordered the Grass Run Farms Beef«Brasato» with red wine, garlic and soft polenta. It was my first time having polenta and it was good. Not something I would crave though. The beef was really tender and juicy but it was a bit too salty. I was hungry so I made sure to eat the polenta with the beef to mask some of the saltiness and it worked. I also picked at some of the other dishes that were ordered at our table. — The Spinach and Frisée with butternut squash, roasted grapes, pecan, feta and honey vinaigrette was sooooooo refreshing. The vinaigrette that they used was something I’ve never really had before so I really enjoyed this salad. — Pan-Seared Halibut Piccata with caramelized gnocchi was ok. The Halibut had a nice flavor but it was a little dry in the center. I dislike my fish or steak to be dry. — Scallops with crispy potatoes, bacon, garlic, escarole and white wine. This was my favorite! I LOVE scallops but never like to order it at restauarants because you usually get only 2 or 3 pieces of scallop for a hefty price. This dish though, it came with either 5 – 6 scallops all seared perfectly with the grill marks and everything. Super good. I would probably come back just to order this dish only when they put tartare on their menu if that’ll ever happen. — Stracchi with beef cheek agrodolce and Parmigiano. My first time trying strachhi pasta which are loosely cut or torn pasta that in Italian supposedly means«rags» per our server. It was good too. If i can recall correctly, it tasted more like a strong sun dried tomato paste. It was good though. I would eat this again or even attempt to make it at home. I’m simple when it comes to Italian. I’m ok with the simple fettuccine, stroganoff, tuna pasta, spaghetti, etc. I accidentally deleted all my photos so kinda sad about that=(

Location-Situated in a business building, the restaurant is hard to find, even with google maps. I would recommend a(modern of course) neon or lighted sign to help people find the restaurant a bit better. Parking is in the free ramps or $ 5 valet parking. Food-Went during Restaurant week and did order off the Restaurant week dinner menu. All the Great and Good choices we had: –Spinach and Frisée Salad with butternut squash, roasted grapes, pecan, feta and honey vinaigratte.-Light and refreshing salad. –Tuna Tartare with pickled fresno chili and crispy shallots-BY FARTHEBEST!!! –Stracchi with house-made sausage and creamy tomato basil sauce-It was a bit heavy on salt, but that is personal preference. All in all, it was still good(I ate it all). –Grass Run Farms Beef«Brasato» with red wine, garlic and soft polenta-Again, bit on the salty side, but still great! –Butterscotch Panna Cotta with sea salt chocolate shortbread-VERY good as well. –Off the regular menu, we had the seared scallops too and that was DELICIOUS. So tender and perfectly cooked. Not so good: –Milk Chocolate Hazelnut Torte with gianduia cream and cinnamon ganache-It was not my favorite of all the desserts we ordered. The dessert was too bitter for my taste so I wonder if it was«dark chocolate» vs «milk chocolate.» –House-made Cannoli with lemon ricotta cheesecake and toasted almond toffee-There was something off about this dessert. I believe they have jazz music on the weekends too(we went on 2÷26÷2016) and the singer and band was very nice. Our service was GREAT! Waiter was attentive and food came out as promptly as possible. All the staff did a great job clearing away the plates to get ready for the next course in a timely manner as well. Highly recommend going!

I wish I had discovered this place when I lived in Bloomington! Yesterday night we had an event in Bloomington so decided to treat ourselves to a restaurant week meal beforehand. We made a reservation for 5 and when we got there we were promptly seated. In addition to restaurant week, they had their weekly date night special going on where for $ 50 a couple you get a bottle of wine, appetizers, entrees, and dessert. We ended up going with that and so glad we did! Our server was awesome! We asked her for recommendations and they were great. We both went with the Sicilian rice balls for appetizers she suggested and they were delicious! For an entrée I got the beef brasato and my fiancé tried the cavatelli and they both were equally amazing. The food was cooked perfectly and tasted really fresh. For dessert, I went with the canolli and my finace did a butterscotch panna cotta and we were not disappointed. Towards the end of our dinner the dining room started to get packed and service slowed down a bit, but I think this was due to so many promotions going on and a few large parties arriving at the same time. After we paid we had a little time to kill before our event so we stopped at the bar. They only had 1 bartender on duty and she was slammed with the dining room drinks. Our drinks took a little bit of time to get(10 – 15 minutes) and we had to quickly drink them before our event, but the bartender really tried her hardest to get everything out as quickly as she could. Overall we had a great time and so excited we discovered Parma 8200 — especially their date night special. I see quite a few more trips to Bloomington in our future

This place is very cool in the inside. When you walk in, there’s a piano with nice seating near it. Happy hour? I’m not too sure on how good the deals are since I went here on my lunch break. At first glance I feel like cannot read the menu… All the ingredients are Italian! Thank goodness for Yell, there are pictures to give you a better idea of what it will look and taste like. Appetizers? Yes! The bread is warm and soft with a crispy outside. It comes with light butter that almost looks like whipped cream. Super good! If you eat it all you will get refills of the bread. Entrée. I ordered the linguine which comes with small delicious clams. The pasta is like spaghetti noodles but it is super oily. I had to keep wiping my mouth from the grease that kept dropping from the noodles… Not worth it. This entrée was missing something. It was just noodles and clams. The servers do come by and offer to pour cheese and pepper for you but it seriously needs vegetables or something else for the price it costs(around $ 15). It was the perfect proportion though. I felt satisfied but I wish I ordered something else. Waitresses are great with checking up on you and refilling your water. Good service here but I’d recommend not trying the linguine.

Doesn’t look like much from the outside. It has sort of an old-folks home look about it but wow it delivers authentic Italian pasta. Mamma mia my penne with vodka was delicious. So bright. Though its a relatively simple dish they really made it pop. I’d say skip the Rigatoni with shrimp and chilis – fine but nothing to write home about

We were craving Italian and decided to check out Parma 8200 on a Saturday night. The restaurant is very pretty and was not too busy. They had live jazz. The food was good, but not great. We tried a few appetizers, the rice ball was great, but we were disappointed in the cheese plate(our server did not know what cheeses he brought us). We had similar thoughts about our main courses, solid but not amazing. They have a very good wine list, but the staff was not very knowledgeable about the wine. We might check it out again.

Husband and I sat at the bar, which is gorgeous – very chic and sophisticated and hip. The service was quite friendly. The piano player that evening was wonderfully talented and a joy to listen to. So why only two stars? We each ordered a drink. My pinot grigio was $ 9, which I thought was pricey, but I was willing to overlook that for the fancy venue. My husband’s beer was $ 7. Again, expensive, but oh well. However, both our drinks had this skunky, funky, moldy odor. They were barely drinkable. I mean, think of drinking stale beer out of a plastic cup in the mustiest basement bar you’ve ever been in – that’s what it reminded us of. I think if it hadn’t been for the incredible pianist, we would have refused to pay for those nasty drinks and just walked out. As it was, we had been planning to order dinner at the bar, but after the initial ickiness, we opted out.

Had dinner at Parma tonight and really enjoyed it. Sat down and was promptly served bread and water, drinks took a little longer, but we were not in a hurry so it was fine. Jenna arrived and took our drink order, we ordered a couple really great tasting cocktails, Spicy Citrus and Moonrise Kingdom, kuddos to the bartenders. We couldn’t decide on food choices, and Jenna was great in helping, very knowledgeable and friendly. I truly appreciate when servers have an opinion and suggestions. We ordered the rice balls as an appetizer, great choice, very, very good. Up next was the watermelon salad, wow, this was a surprise, did not expect we would enjoy this so much! Appetizers and salad were timed well, but our entrees took quite a long time. Not sure where the slow down occurred, but we waited over 30 minutes for the entrees to show up. Again, we weren’t in a hurry, but had we been, this would have created a problem. Finally the Halibut and Bucatini showed up. Great choices. We added the shrimp on to the Bucatini and that was a good option. Halibut was really good, but the highlight was the gnocchi served with it. A really great entrée! Overall, would recommend. Service was really good, other than the slowdown we experienced. Would be nice if they could figure out that slight service piece, then I would be giving 5 stars!(Almost forgot! Took the butterscotch panna cotta home for dessert, wow, so glad we didn’t skip this, yummy!!!)

Rice Balls must order. Butterscotch Desert Must order. This is a good menu from Pasta to Seafood to even a good steak. The location is not perfect for the weekend night outs. But I believe it is worth the trip. That little outdoor patio in the summer is a gem!

I brought my grandma here for her birthday, because she was craving Italian, and it didn’t disappoint. First off, our server, Maggie, was fantastic. Very friendly, good energy, enthusiastic about the food, and gave great, delicious-sounding descriptions of everything. She also happened to be pretty cute, but that in no way affects my review. We started with calamari, which was pretty good. I enjoyed the fried hot peppers, and the fried lemon slices were an odd, but interesting, touch. It was not a presentation I’d seen before, but I liked it. I had Linguine with clams, and it was delicious, though not quite as good as some of the other reviewers had led me to believe. It was swimming in sauce, which I thought was a little too strongly-flavored, and could have used about another fistful of pasta to even everything out. Grandma had spaghetti marinara with meatballs, and she assured me that it was delicious. I’m not really a marinara fan, so, although I tried a bit, I can’t really comment as to how good it may or may not have been. But, one of many apt ways to describe my grandma is «spaghetti connoisseur,» and she enjoyed it quite a bit. For dessert, grandma had a(complimentary, for her birthday) raspberry sorbet with a chocolate-dipped pizelle, which were both tasty. Nice and fruity, and not too sweet. I had cannoli with a lemon filling, dipped in, I think, toffee. They were easily some of the best cannoli I’ve had. I will happily be back.

I was not expecting much of anything when I walked inside this nondescript restaurant stuck in an industrial park in the middle of nowhere, but I’m going say, that I was kind of blown away. I sat down at the bar with a martini and some italian bread with whipped butter. I ordered an apple salad with romaine, red onion, candied hazelnuts and gorgonzola dressing on the side. It sounds so simple yet it was so delicous. The salad was well dressed with a light citrusy dressing that elevated it beyond salad status. For dinner I choose the Wednesday special Porchetta with braised pork, broccoli rabe and soft polenta. I actually put my fork down after a few bites to savour all the flavors that were captured in this dish. The pork was perfectly braised and fork tender; the polenta was soft and creamy; the broccoli rabe was blanched, lightly sauteed with olive oil and crushed pepper, perhaps? All I know is that I didn’t need to add any pepper or salt. Everything was splendid! It took me 1 hour to eat this dish because I wanted it to last forever. Well done Parma!

Love it Everyone is so friendly here! This is hands down the best service I’ve had at any restaurant before, I’m very impressed! We were greeted and seated quickly, the waiter was all-smiles and he thoroughly explained all of the dishes with enthusiasm. He checked in on us a few times during the meal too to make sure everything was tasting good and if we needed any fresh pepper or parmesan, lemon, etc. I also loved that our waters were being filled constantly and the woman was very sweet and polite. We had a group of 4; 2 got the tuna sandwich with their house made chips, 1 got the turkey sandwich with the parma salad, and I got the ravioli($ 13). The noodles are made in house daily, and it had fresh roasted tomatoes and garlic. It tasted so fresh and authentic! I would definitely get that again. I highly recommend this place!

Tasty restaurant, the food was all good and fresh, typical Italian. I thought date night on Sunday evening was a good deal. The butterscotch dessert was amazing!!! I also recommend dining in the outdoor patio if it’s nice out. It is beautiful out there and you can enjoy the few short months of summer:) it was pretty windy(maybe just this time of year in June?) but the wind would come and go, and it wasn’t a major problem.

Great food, amazing Sunday dinner deal! It’s a little odd to get there as you have to park in the ramp of an office building but it’s worth it when you get in. We have only ever gone for the Sunday deal(that all D’amico restaurants have) but it was fantastic. As a random note, the wait staff was all incredibly tall

My coworkers and I decided to try this restaurant for lunch this week because it was one of the featured restaurant week deals and the D’Amico family of restaurants has yet to steer me wrong. It’s tucked away in a business park, in a really nice building, but the restaurant ambiance is even nicer. Very clean, contemporary styling inside makes it feel like a classy place you could go for lunch with a client or get cocktails on a weekend for an evening. Apparently their«Restaurant Week» deal is their everyday lunch combo, so if you are looking for something that isn’t typically affordable but on special for the occasion this would not be my top choice. However, the food was good and ten dollars for a pick two deal was a nice value. I ordered the house salad and the half turkey sandwich with avocado and bacon. All the food was tasty, nothing to rave or gripe about, just a solid lunch. I picture myself coming back for a summer happy hour on the patio rather than for another meal, but I would definitely come give it another try.

I was very excited to eat here after reading all the reviews. I made reservations on Unilocal and got set to go. When we got there(my husband and I) they sat us at a table that was in doorway even though lots of other tables were available. Someone came and got our drink order and told us our waiter would be with us shortly. It took a long time until our waiter showed up. It was exactly an hour before our appetizers showed up. Then we waited some more for the entrees which was fish. Then as you can guess we waited some more for the Panna Cotta which was very good. So the service we received was unacceptable for a place of this quality, the food however was very good.

It’s the middle of winter and I’m thinking longingly about Parma 8200’s patio… The food here is good; I’ve been here once for dinner and about a million times for their happy hour. Amongst a sea of office buildings, parking lots and winding, confusing roads is Parma 8200. And in the back of the restaurant, outside the door is Parma’s oasis of a patio. It oddly enough has a pool table(billiards if you’re fancy!) off to the side, which is random and a bit out of place. It’s open, breezy and relaxing; everything you want in a patio. Right now, it’s below zero outside, but in my mind I’m going to Carolinaaaaa… Just kidding, James Taylor. In my mind I’m on Parma’s patio sipping wine and enjoying much better weather than we’ve got right now.
