These are a very caring group of people! They do a wonderful job with the residents! They do extra things for them because they care about them like if it was their own parents!

Do you have an ailing elderly relative that, say, used to molest you and deserves retribution? Or maybe a lower-income enemy you’ve been meaning to maim? If so, by all means, do your best to see that they wind up here. If, on the other hand, you have a friend or relative that you love and whose health you would like to see improve, do whatever you possibly can to make sure he or she does not wind up in this godforsaken shit hole. Speaking of shit, that’s one of the many foul aromas(in addition to that of piss and cigarettes) you will smell upon entering this facility. And speaking of entering this facility, good luck finding anyone working there who will make eye contact with you. And beware of loose ceiling tiles that might smack you in the head. Unfortunately, the family member I love most in this life wound up here and received care that was, in my opinion, beyond negligent. In the interest of maintaining his dignity, I will spare readers the details of his final days there. I will, however, share what I witnessed during my first and only visit: As I wandered around trying to find my relative’s room without any assistance from anyone, I watched a «nurse»(or whatever these people call themselves) pushing an elderly woman to the restroom in her wheelchair. The woman was moaning about how desperately she had to use the restroom. The«nurse» kept saying things like, «I know you do. That’s where I’m trying to take you!» Of course, the patient’s discomfort was slightly less important to her than the personal call she got on her cell phone at the time. One would think that anyone considering themselves a care giver might ignore the cell phone and return the call after the elderly patient had relieved herself. But not here. The patient was left in the doorway of the restroom, still moaning desperately, while the«nurse» answered the call and stepped aside to argue with someone about something inane for the next five minutes. Classy. When I shared this story with an acquaintance who’d also had a relative there at one point, he told me, «Yeah, she was in there for about a week and we knew we had to get her out. It was bad enough there was a huge hole in the ceiling above her, but when we witnessed two workers there have an honest-to-God fist fight in the hall, we brought her home immediately.» As if it doesn’t suck bad enough being poor and sick with limited health insurance, here you also get to be ignored and humiliated. If you or someone in your life winds/wound up here and manages/managed to survive, consider yourself lucky.
