On line customer service a nightmare warehouse doesnt marry orders together so be prepared to receive numerous packages. One item on my one of my orders shipped to the billing address instead of ship to address. The label had been printed at their warehouse. Instead of shipping a new item directly they will be sending call tags, wait days for it to ship back ground service, then days for processing a credit. Guess what all for $ 8.25. Was offered a 10% discount all of .82 cents. This whole process took over one hour of my time and speaking with three of their customer service agents. I have been a very good customer furniture, mattress, large purchases for years but I am officially done doing business with them.

We usually only go here to return items purchased online. The customer service is always excellent and friendly. They often offer advise on how to get special offers. Store is always clean and service is always good.

I went to their jewelry section to get a watch adjusted that was a gift from my girlfriend. The lady at the counter said they can’t make adjustments. The watch is from their store. What’s the point of having a jewelry counter if their staff can’t do anything? Very frustrating.

The day I went to this Carson’s(I had a coupon to use), it was in the high 80’s outside in August. The store’s air conditioning must have broken or was barely working because the store was SO hot it was almost unbearable! All the other shoppers were making comments about the stagnant heat throughout the store. I felt so bad for all the employees who were stuck working there all day. Everyone was sweating. I’ve never seen this happen at a department store before. Anyway, I had an awesome coupon, but of course anything good was restricted. So many restrictions, it’s almost useless to use the coupon. The items aren’t great either. I won’t be returning.

First off, this isn’t my favorite Carson’s. You would be much better off to go to the Yorktown or Schaumburg location. I use to love Carson’s, like go here a few times a week loved it. I’m just not loving it so much these days. Their Yellow Dot use to be a flat 70% off the«lowest» marked price. Now they separate it into Black/Yellow Dot for an «extra» 50−60% off. There went that savings. Anyhow, my story of frustration. I bought a sweater on Yellow Dot at the Hawthorn Mall location in Vernon Hills on a Saturday. I wasn’t sure if I was going to keep it to I left it in the bag with the receipt. Sure enough, a coupon is e-mailed to me on a Tuesday(at 3:00 for a one day only sale, psh) for an additional 20% off Yellow Dot. So I grab my bag and head over to the Stratford location which I knew wouldn’t have anywhere near the selection as Hawthorn but I bit the bullet. When I get there, my receipt isn’t in the bag(totally my bad) but no worries, they can look it up. Well this lady tells me she can look it up but it will give me less than I paid for. So, I use my handy technology to look up the receipt from my credit card but the woman still tells me no dice. It says on the back of their receipts they can give you a refund without a receipt. Finally she looks up the price I would get as a refund and it was 65 cents less than what I paid. I’ll take it! She lays my sweater out to look at the internal tag to make sure it matched the external tag. I’ve never had that happen before, like I’m trying to return something that isn’t the tag or something. Then she tells me she can only give me store credit. Umm, no. You can give me a refund. «Let’s see if this will let me…» And magically, the computer«allowed» her to do something it normally doesn’t «allow» them to do. So my plan was to obviously return the sweater and then re-purchase with the additional 20% off. This is of course against company policy. God forbid I find a way to save a few bucks. The cashier kept telling me it was company policy over and over. Well, what’s to stop me from grabbing another off the racks and purchasing it? *The fact that they didn’t have another one, of course. Expletive.* Meanwhile, the cashier is putting away all the clothes from behind the register. Do you think mine magically shows up on the racks? Nope. I don’t know what she did with it but she made sure I wasn’t going to re-purchase. THEN…I head over to handbags because my Michael Kors purse handles are coming apart. I’ve had the thing for maybe 9 months and I really don’t even use it often. I explain to the lady my situation. «If you have the receipt, we can return it.» So I explain that I would like them fixed, I don’t want to return it. «I’m sure you can do that. Look on their website.» So I ask her what their warranty/guarantee is. «I’m sure they have one.» End of conversation. I know these ladies move departments but couldn’t she have found someone who knew or something?! I left in frustration. This place is losing it.

My comments are directed to Carson’s customer service and not the Bloomingdale store. I placed a web order and received shipping notification. The status did not change for several days so I called. I got 3 different answers from 3 different people. Everything from it was handed off to the post office to I’ll follow through and call you. Well guess what? The incorrect tracking number was provided on the shipping notification. Those that said it had been handed to the post office lied and the person who absolutely promised to follow through didn’t. Worst of all when you ask for a supervisor, you’re told one will call you back in 4 – 6 hours. Absolutely THE worst customer service experience. I will think twice before placing a web order with Carson’s again. If I could give them a lower rating, believe me I would! Macy’s on the other hand is a delight to shop at AND the web experience is fabulous!

Store Review: What a crazy store day… you know that there is a special 10 dollar off 10 dollar coupon when there is crowds in the kitchen section looking for items that they can purchase for free. This store is overall well stocked with name brand clothes. It is slightly smaller than the woodfield location, but otherwise has all you need in regards to home goods, men/women/children clothes. Pros– Large inventory, weekly coupons in sunday paper Cons– Read the fine print for the coupons as there are lots of limitation. I got lucky the last time I was here and found lots of stuff. I feel like this store is pretty much like TJ Maxx, sometimes you find stuff, sometimes you don’t. When I go to a big department store like this, I’m ok with paying extra if there are people around to help me. Well I think that’s the impossible dream at this place. I went after Christmas when they knew they were going to be busy and I think the staff was still on vacation. I had some questions about the prices on some stuff — was the tag the right price or was there an additional markdown — and nobody knew! Also something rang up wrong and when I told them it was a certain percentage off, they couldn’t do the math to manually enter it in the computer. So CPS needs to get their act together! With all the people miffed about Field’s turning into Macy’s, they could ramp up their personnel and get more people to come here.

i love this store. They are so reasonably priced and they carry great, name brand stuff. This location, especially, is great because its never crowded and there’s always lots of people working. They have a great selection of stuff and they always have some great sales too!
