I like their food, but man, their portions… it’s so disappointing. Did someone eat my lunch before packing it? I paid $ 8.50 lunch and it’s half it didn’t even cover the bottom of the to-go container. I have to remind myself not to go here no matter how desperate I am for Thai food. I can get more than this in the city for that price.

Sorry, but everything was greasy and on top of my order taking 50 min. to arrive, the delivery person couldn’t even bother bringing the food up to my door. Like really? there’s an elevator in my building for crying out loud! When I opened up the bag… spilled food everywhere. Not a good experience. Stick to Clifton Thai… way better! And cheaper!

Been a customer since they first opened a few years ago. The quality has remained great but the portions have reduced. Delivery is always on time and customer service is good. Last night I had the Tom Yum Soup(veggie), Satay Beef, Som Tom salad(seafood), and the Pad Kee Mao(shrimp) — all mild, and green tea ice cream. It was great with enough leftovers to last additional meals. The only Thai place in Bloomfield that delivers(though there are only two Thai places in the town anyway). Will continue here as my Thai go to spot!

The food was decent, as expected, nothing over the moon but also not disappointing. My issue is with the portions. They were TINY. Like ½ portions. We ordered delivery, maybe they give you more in the restaurant? Not sure… but I was sad.

My favorite thai restaurant! I have been to many different thai restaurants in New Jersey and New York City, and this by far is the best! The food tastes authentic and is filled with flavor that’ll make your taste buds go wild. My favorite dish is the Pad See Ew, it comes with noodles, chicken, and some veggies, highly recommend! The service is also great and the staff is always very accommodating and pleasant. The people helping me were genuine when they inquired how I liked the dishes. Another great bonus is that they deliver which most thai restaurants in the area do not.

I really like their curry. The restaurant itself is a little odd with its sloping floor!

This is not good Thai. The pad thai noodles are consistently bland and overcooked, the curries are greasy, and I have concerns about the state of the shrimp. We’ve ordered from them a few times because they’re close and they deliver, but still searching for better.

This was our go to Thai place in the area, no more. My order is always wrong which I used to just ignore and became accustomed to. But last night along with my order being incorrect as usual I also received two additional items I did not order. Hair in my pad Thai. :vomit: and hair in my Thai fried rice. I couldn’t even think of finishing it. Usually I blame myself for hair but this wasn’t my hair and clearly lost my appetite for this place. Last time we order from this joint. So disappointing.

Really good food, generally quick and always polite service. Family owned and operated. The curry is delicious. My two favorites are the gang ped yang(roast duck, pineapple, red curry) and the gang kiew wan gai(green curry chicken with bamboo shoots, basil, and eggplant). The pad kee mao noodles are a favorite as well. There is a good variety of soups, salads, curries, noodle dishes, as well as seafood, pork, fowl, and vegetarian options. They are not afraid to burn your face off if you ask for your food extra hot so consider this prior to requesting exaggerated heat levels. We noticed that sometimes you seem to get a bit less with takeout then you would if you eat at the restaurant. I live very close so its not a problem to drive or take a walk down the the restaurant. Two potential negatives(the second more so than the first) but I really enjoy this place and strongly recommend it overall.

Basil Chicken is amazing! Medium spice is pretty spicy but the flavor is amazing. Every time I have guests I order it and everyone loves it. I remove the green beans because they are too crunchy for me

Just had a really nice lunch here today! Clean and quick. Large menu so will return to try other items soon. Salad to start, pretty standard. My wife had special noodles Yen Ta Phở that were spicy and she said very tasty. I had crispy pork with basil over jasmine rice, very tasty too. I asked for medium spicy and it came just like that. Good service and friendly.

Came here for a family dinner with family friends who have never had Thai food before and they loved it! I got the chuu chee tofu tod which is a red curry and pad kee Mao. We got the curry a medium spice level and the pad kee Mao medium-hot(it was the perfect amount of spice, mind you I love spicy). Everything was delicious and the service was great too! I’ll definitely go here again!

Decent food. Called for delivery but doesn’t start until 5, so I did takeout. Very quick, ready in 15 minutes. Chicken curry puffs were good and flavorful. Green curry chicken was made spicy like I prefer, but was watery and I much prefer a coconut creamier sauce. Pad tai pork was the best we had was very flavorful and nutty. The portions, remember takeout, aren’t as large as I was hoping. All in all was a good meal, nothing to go out of the way for…

Went for lunch with my boyfriend who loves authentic Thai food which is definitely what we got! Service was good, the food was great with proper portions. The salad you get before your appetizer comes out had a peanut type of dressing could definitely tell it was homemade. We ordered the appetizer sampler, and I got Larb as my main dish. The Larb was a bit too spicy to my liking but was so good I kept eating it. My boyfriend ordered a green curry dish but got something else, which is why I gave them 4 stars. I work in the restaurant business so we didn’t send it back. The food came out on a timely manner, wish I didnt have to rush to go to work so I could have enjoyed the dessert that they offered. Maybe next time. They also Deliver!

Went there for lunch. Start to finish took about 1.5 hours: Yikes: Unfortunately we had a person ahead of us who was allergic to everything and had to scrutinize the menu with a microscope. She probably added 45 minutes of wait time to our experience. I ordered the tom yum soup — had tomatoes in it which was odd for me — but soup was flavorful I also had the duck salad which was drenched in a sauce that i’m still paying for a day later. Not very happy.

I’d give Boonsong an extra half star– I really don’t think its a 4 or a 3. The wait staff is awesome– as is the manager. So why not higher? They close really early– 9:30; and considering that food is hard to find in Bloomfield past 9pm, they really should want to be picking up all that business they miss out on. People order out usually because they get home too late from work, and since many commute to NYC, its just a missed opportunity. The other reason its not higher rated for me, is that when Ive called in an order and its within 2 minutes of their 9:30pm cut off time, they refuse to take it– thats just bad business. Now, on to the food– The fried calamari appetizer is seriously good– prepared well with a really good sauce– I always order the sauce with my pad thai. The papaya salad with shrimp is also excellent– some of the best Ive had anywhere– small dried shrimp in the spiciest tangiest chili lime sauce– most excellent. The curries are good, not fantastic, good. My main complaint on the curries is the size– if you order this as takeout, the Massamun curry for example(first thing I ever ordered from them) was in a small pint container the same size as a wonton soup container– it had 5 pieces of small somewhat tender beef, and really light on the potatoes and onions, so little peanuts I’m not sure it even had them. Noodles: Here is where they get my vote of confidence, Pad Thai– really well done, has all the right stuff in abundance– great as a lunch special, not too different in size or price from dinner though– this is something they need to work on– lunch specials are anything but special– expensive in comparison to the regular menu, not much different. Drunken Noodles– really pretty good too. The entrees Ive had here were all good. I cant recall the name of the dishes I had, but one was a seafood and noodle dish with chinese eggplant tat was very good and if you say, «make it Thai spicy», they will look at you oddly and ask if you’re sure… one waitress I had there told me she doesnt even eat it like that– and yes, they are all from Thailand– cute too :) If you like spicy, this is the place to go. So, I’d really like to up the rating another star, lets see if they read these reviews– I will keep coming(even though at one time I specifically talked to the manager and swore I wouldnt after that first small curry disappointment). Overall the food seems reasonable, but if you take in to account that the portions are designed for diners who order multiple courses– you can easily spend more than you wanted to, and with Thai food, that’s really not necessary– none of these dishes are a shareable size at all– that is their downfall; one shouldnt need to spend $ 60 to feed two people.
