It saddens me to report that The Blakeslee Inn caught on fire this morning(2÷3÷16) and from the reports we have heard on the radio it is a total loss. The Blakeslee Inn is owned by the Pocono Raceway Family and are hearts go out to them and we pray that they will rebuild as The Blakeslee Inn is a staple in this area.

Huge thanks to Unilocal for helping us discover this place during our stay at split rock lodge. This place is a gem! So good we went back the following night. The second night we ate in the pub since they have an additional menu and we noticed other families sat there. The place is upscale in an unpretentious way, and kid friendly. Food was expertly and uniquely prepared with local ingredients Our favorites were the sea bass, duck, and scallops. Cocktails are out of this world! Next time we’ll try to hit them up for their thurs or Fri evening happy hour.

Don’t be fool once arriving. We saw the sign but thought there’s a separate entrance for the restaurant but it’s the same as where the lobby is for the inn i believe. Restaurant is cozy and perfect for a family dinner. Service was great and on point i have to say. Food wise was just really mediocre. My entrée of Linguine and Clams, i felt like it was bland, expected more of the calmy taste. My husband’s fried seafood pasta seemed like the appetizer of fried calamari, shrimp and fish. The sausage and mushroom appetizer and cauliflower bisque was yummy. Too full to go for dessert!

We spent the night here in route to Connecticut. Mid range price. Nice clean rooms and nice showers. Quiet and got an excellent night sleep. Will not hesitate to stop in here again. I was unable to get internet because you have to have paid services by particular providers to be able to log on.

Second time here. I think the staff was even more friendly than before. We sat in the pub. There was a small bourbon tasting class going on. Looked like fun. I ordered a «special» glass of wine and hubby had a «special«glass of beer. Both very good. I ordered a baby arugula salad with pine nuts, ricotta cheese, tapenade, and a celaric dressing. So good! Light dressing. I also had the steamed clams with spinach and mini shrimp. Yummy! My hubby had nana’s cannoli. Hot and greats and great sauce. Can’t go wrong here and much more sophisticated food than other restaurants in the poconos!

This is the first non-chain hotel we’ve stayed at in a long time. From the outside it looks like any other motel from back in the day, but it’s obvious the exterior has been nicely redone. The lobby was spacious and the manager/clerk that greeted us was very friendly and accommodating. We chose a suite with a kitchenette and were very pleased. The room had been recently redone, and though right next door to the lobby, we didn’t hear any noise all night. With our AAA discount the room came to less than $ 100, which is great for Labor Day weekend. There are 2 or 3 restaurants on site that smelled really good, but we didn’t get a chance to try them out. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

Went to the Blakeslee Pub, which is located inside of the Blakeslee Inn on 8÷22÷15 at 7:30PM. It took the hostess almost 5 minutes to try to figure out where to sit us, which was odd because the place was, at best, 30% occupied. Sat for 10 minutes, none of the wait staff felt compelled to take our drink order. The closest we got was a wait staff member who looked at us but turned away. We left.

My husband and I were up in the Pocono’s for the Indy race and I picked this place to eat. From the outside your not really sure where the restaurant is but it’s a cozy, very nice and has personality. The staff are very pleasant and really go out of their way to make you feel at home. The older lady at the hostess desk was a miserable hag and was not very welcoming but this was fast erased by the personable bartender who made the most amazing drink, best I ever had. Food was incredible, highly recommend the Kobe burger. Staff was very thorough and we never sat without anything we needed. Great atmosphere, great food, great service.

Went last weekend with my wife for a dinner date. At first look from the outside it appeared be a motor inn that was past its prime, but upon entering the lobby and then going into the dining room it was like we were in a totally different place. The décor was very nice and the food was out of this world. I had the pan roasted Chilean Sea Bass. It was amazing! My wife had the Braised Beef Short Rib Ravioli, and they were excellent. The deserts were all made to order and were equally excellent. We were blown away with the quality of this hidden gem in the Poconos! I have no clue why others may have had thoughts to the contrary, but in our experience this was an excellent restaurant.

Totally unexpected pleasure. No way I would eat at Split Rock so had to find an alternative and Unilocal gave this restaurant right down the street a great rating. Its located in a throwback motel that’s immaculate from the outside and in the lobby which you walk through to get to the restaurant. We were seated in the bar. There are several menu choices: bar menu, Italian menu, and French/Fine Dining. We went Italian. The chef makes the pasta fresh daily. The fried seafood appetizer was fair. The Caesar salad was the same. But the short rib ravioli and Nana’s Cannelloni were awesome! We love our waitress Pauline who informed us they were running a special for Blues Festival attendees which was a brilliant idea. She was fantastic(ask for her). We will return next year!

Good was great and staff was wonderful. I lie the fact that their pasta is homemade on the spot. Portion size was just right. Staff was so great, constantly filling up water, checking in on us and beyond polite. Will absolutely be back!

We go there for the brunch on Sunday’s and dinner from time to time. The brunch has a wide variety of food from traditional breakfast items to lobster tails and crab legs. The service is fantastic and it has a nice atmosphere. The dinners are very sophisticated and daring, especially considering the small community surrounding the Inn. Overall it is an excellent restaurant and an enjoyable experience. I’m local so we have not stayed in the Inn portion, but the restaurant is excellent.

We visited during a particularly slow part of the season so there were only a few patrons. Most other restaurants were closed, but they treated us like royalty. My dinner of Artic Chad(fish) was superb. Very surprising to get food this good in a mountain resort town. My wife had the pasta and raved about it. Service was very good. Timely, informative and friendly. I would happily go back.

Great food and service. Best Sunday brunch on the mountain. Also the kobe beef burgers are to die for, only $ 10 during happy hour. The only place with three restaurants in one. The rack of lamb appetizer and the duck breast entry is my favorite. Also the Homemade pasta is worth the trip

This place is a joke. Reading the«traditional«Italian menu??? Make me pee my pants. Have you been to Italy chef? Vodka sauce? Not Italian Fettuccine Alfredo? Not Italian Chicken pasta? Chicken is not a pasta condiment. pasta is not a side dish. Butter ??? These are American dishes. Or something you’ve invented but not authentic regional italian cuisine. Where was the«executive chef» trained? You might as well put spaghetti and meatballs on the menu and call it authentic. So many Americans are not educated on authentic italian cuisine .but really if your going to serve it in a restaurant get a clue. Zero stars

What a nightmare experience.10 of us had reserved a presidential suite and another room to stay near the Pocono Raceway since we were there for a two day event. Absolutely exhausted after a 16 hour day, we went to check in. We were excited that it was so close to the raceway and could not wait to rest. As we opened the doors to the suite, the room smelled moldy and was totally outdated. Of course that is not a major concern as we proceeded to look at the rest of the suite. We found at least 10 spiders within 10 minutes of being there. It was absolutely disgusting. Some guests were simply uncomfortable but others have phobias. Safe to say, we requested some incentives to be satisfied. As I realized there isn’t going to be any good reason to stay, I started calling other hotels nearby. Being on hold made me anxious and look around the bedroom more as I discovered someone else’s hair on the pillow. Of course that was just the cherry on top of an already spider infested room. When I walked to the front desk to speak to someone about the situation, it was treated as a «no big deal» scenario. I was told no cleaning staff was on board and dealing with 1 or 2 spiders was not serious. I could not accept being brushed off when there are 10 outraged and upset people. I spoke with the manager who offered a small discount and we were not going to budge. We found a Comfort Inn 30 minutes away and requested a FULL refund. The Suite was refunded right away but the room they did not want to refund. When the guests of that room requested to speak to the manager, they were told she is busy assisting other clients. The manager was actually just sitting by a computer, BAREFOOT(unprofessional) and scrolling through the Internet. After 45 minutes of arguing back and forth, we finally received the minimum of what they could have done and went to Comfort Inn. I do not recommend ANYONE going there. There were spiders on every wall outside waiting to crawl in the rooms for cuddles. Just a simple advice to management– please get an exterminator AND change sheets for future guests in the Presidential Suite.

In our backyard all this time and we just discovered a wonderful restaurant fifteen minutes from our home! Blakeslee Inn in Blakeslee, PA is a real gem! We ate off the Pasta Renova menu. The appetizers of sausage stuffed mushrooms and caprese were exquisite and beautifully presented. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the braised short rib ravioli and the seafood fra diavolo was filled with various seafoods tho I found the heat of the sauce a bit more than I had expected. Wonderful waitstaff and an extensive wine menu. The value to price ratio is incredible. We will be back soon to try The Pub which has an interesting menu, not the usual burger fare.

We went to this restuarant by randomly looking or a place to eat in that area. The outside is not much to talk about and because we were hungry we went in. The host was a bit snobbish and assumed that because we were with young boys in shorts that we could either not appreciate the food. We stayed to eat anyway and the waiter an Australian was excellent and VERY accomodating. The food was delicious. the pasta was divine and home made. The steak that my 13yr old eat was cooked to perfection. I had briased short rib ravioli and it was amazing… We will definitely go back and highly recommend it. we would like to try the sunday buffet.
