Horrible food. My workplace treated all of us to subs, pizza and salads. Only a few people liked the pizza. Most didn’t like it and wouldn’t eat anymore of it. We had 4 whole pizzas left and several subs. The pizza sauce is the worst. It tastes like they just opened a can of tomato paste and spread it all over the crust. There was no taste to the crust and the pepperoni were little bowls of grease. The sub buns were dried up and there was very little meat and cheese. Before I tried anything, I had thought that this would be a great place to pick up something for dinner, because its right on the way home. NOPE! And needless to say, my workplace will not be ordering from there again!

Best Pizza crust ever. Thin and super crispy, but not super thin. We ordered a pepperoni and sausage Pizza. Next time I will order extra cheese. The pizza had a ton of pepperoni but not much sausage. Still yummy, I will be back. Best Pizza east of Columbus.

My wife and I were out shopping and used Unilocal to find somewhere to eat that wasn’t a chain. Pizza well that always sounds good to me. My wife loved the Italian sub she had and said it was definitely comparable to a Donato’s Big Don. I had a sausage and pepperoni pizza and I would not compare them to Donato’s mainly because the crusts are different. I liked the crust, it is definitely like a cracker crust. The sauce was not too sweet and it isn’t overused which is good I don’t like saucy pizza. They don’t load the pizza down with cheese like most chains but there was a good balance for me. The only thing I would have liked was more sausage, not because they didn’t put enough on but because its homemade and quite good. The dining area is very much like a ma and pa restaurant which is fine I grew up in a small town so if you want something fancy order it to go.

The pizza is decent, the crust is crisp I would like more«cheese and sauce». The Italian sub was good, I probably wouldn’t eat there again. I only tried based on previous reviews. I prefer Tommy’s pizza or Joe’s pizza on east broad st.

We have had it once. The guy whom I assume was the owner was really nice. He asked if it was our first time there and it was. We chit chatted for a minute about our family pizza trends while we waited for ours to be done. He assured us that his pie would be better than the places I mentioned. I wasn’t a fan of the cracker thin crust. Just not my style. Needs to have some chew to the crust not just crispy. With that being said, it was a great pizza and have a homemade freshness to it. We will definitely get it again. The search for the best pizza continues… happily of course!

Super thin cracker crust, excellent! The sauce was good, seemed to be house made. This place is off the beaten path. Funny thing about the location is it was an auto body shop for many years and I worked there. The pizza prep area was my repair area and the dining room was our paint booth. We used to eat a lot of pizzas in that shop, ironic?

Tucked away in the back woods of Blacklick is The Big Cheese pizza shop. It’s hard to see and easy to miss, so drive real slow if you’re looking for it. It’s close to Reynoldsburg-New Albany Road on Taylor. It’s small. Untrendy. Basic. And I get the feeling from the owner that it’s just the way he likes it. If you’re a fan of a saucy pizza with good taste and small toppings, this is your gig. It’s got a thin crust. REAL thin. So be wary of that. He has pretty good chef salads and subs, too. It’s dine-in. Casual. And say hello to the owner behind the counter. He’s a good guy, but he’s stuck on sarcastic. Good local pizza shop for Friday nights. But get there early, because the tiny parking lot fills up quick.

We love this pizza. Homemade thin crust, crispy the way we like it. Homemade sauce, it’s been perfected and blends well with everything. They also make their own Italian sausage. This is becoming our favorite pizza place, and they remember you when you go back, always an added bonus.

I wanted to go see what all the hype was about after reading how this is the best pizza on the face of the earth. I guess I was expecting… more. I didn’t realize this place would be such a hole in the wall. And I don’t mind places like that. I just felt like I was out of place since I wasn’t a local of Blacklick. Everyone seemed to know each other… and know the staff. I felt a bit awkward when walking in. Like I didn’t belong… it’s strange trying to describe. The service was okay I guess. They give you little tiny paper plates to eat off of… again, hole in the wall. I dunno, since I’m in Westerville and Blacklick is kinda out of the way, I doubt I’ll be back. The pizza was really good with lots of toppings and everything. Just not my cup of tea for the ambiance and the«local feel» of the place.

Went there with my boyfriend, though I’m still not sure why we went to a pizza place(I am not a huge fan of tomatoes or tomato sauce). He seemed to be really into it and he loved his pizza. I ordered the pizza sub and found the bread to be exceptionally tasty. It tasted fresh baked, though I don’t know if that is the case. Would give it another try, though the building itself wasn’t much to look at, the food and good customer service was enough to warrant further interest.

Best pizza in Columbus. Nothing fancy or over the top. I enjoy eating in as it comes out piping hot, crispy crust, and incredibly delicious. Everyone working there has always been very nice and courteous. Only downside is looking down to see I have somehow devoured like half a pizza when I typically only have a few slices most places!

When this place first opened up, my boss bought pizza for everyone to try. And we ALL loved it. There was just something about it. I don’t know if it was the sauce or what, but we definitely kept going back for more! Now that the business has been open awhile, something about the pizza has changed, and not for the better. It is certainly not as cheesy. When this pizza joint first opened, they 100% lived up to their name. The pizza was nice and cheesy. The sauce was tasty. The dough was fresh. Now, all the pizzazz is gone. The amount of cheese on the pizza has nearly been cut in half AND the dough just isn’t the same. I don’t know if they stopped making it fresh in house or what’s going on but they need to go back to what made them popular in the 1st place. We hardly ever order from here at work any more due to all the changes in the pizza and it’s a shame because we were so in love with their deliciousness!

Fantastic! Best meatball sub in town! We love this place. The food is excellent, the owner is a really, really nice guy and the little shop is cozy and great to dine in. Located off the beaten path, this place is frequently hopping! If we call in our order the owner always recognizes Matt’s voice without him even saying his name. The food is handmade with real ingredients and reasonably priced. If you were a fan of the Big Don sub back when Donatos used quality ingredients and put out a good product, I invite you to try The Big Cheese’s Italian Sub. It’s the best, better than Donatos ever was! The reviews on here don’t lie. If you haven’t tried The Big Cheese what are you waiting for?!!

Very disappointed. For a place called the big cheese they don’t put much cheese on the pizza. It tasted fine but I was expecting a different kind of pizza that was more cheese than sauce. Also the place was filthy inside.

My favorite local pizza hands down. The guy behind the counter is the owner, sauce maker, sausage maker, crust maker, oven monitor, and order taker. He is the salt of the earth and cares about every pie he puts in your hands. Can he be «gruff»”, as a few reviews have claimed? Sure, perhaps, but I want my pizza guy to have the same attitude my doctor has. Complete confidence in his abilities. I find it comforting. They opened shop in an old cinder block building, it’s family run and consistent. It’s consistent because this same man does everything his way everyday. It’s a thin crust, it’s a fresh sauce. I would guess the sauce makes it or breaks it for people. I’ve never had a sauce like it and I think it’s the best I’ve ever had, but of course that’s just personal taste. His sausage is mild and fresh and ground in house. It’s just good pizza. In a sea of commercial chain pizza places the big cheese stands out as something different and special. Give them a try.

Chris did it again. His well done pizza is crispy and flavorful. I have a real serious problem with MSG Chris makes his own sauce every day and twice on Friday. no artificial junk in his sauce only fresh natural ingredients cooked to perfection. The Big Cheese is hard to find but worth the effort.

Best pie in the area. When we ask for crispy, it is actually crispy. Everything is hand made and super tasty. Prices are extremely fair. Not sure there much else to say about damn good pizza. Just go get you some.

Delicious pizza. It’s small and out of the way, hard to find if you’re not looking. The pineapple pizza seemed weird but their pepperoni was great. Overall it’s a nice little place worth checking out.

I must’ve driven past this place a thousand times, and never noticed its existence. Thanks to Unilocal,it was this week’s Tuesday night pizza. The Big Cheese sits back off of Taylor Road a bit. I saw it right as I was passing it. One illegal U-Turn later, and I was inside the place. TBC has a nice, clean dine-in area, which was empty at the time. I do not believe that alcohol is an option, but I was on the run from the law at this point, so I didn’t linger to ask. TBC serves up a traditional Ohio pie, with thin, crackery crust and square cut pieces. While not my style, the crust was actually quite good. Unlike most thin crusts in the area, this one almost appeared to have been freshly rolled(rather than like a stiff, uniform piece of cardboard out of the freezer). The result was a lighter, airier, flakier crust with some contour. The toppings were decent as well. The peps were slightly thicker cut, for a meatier taste and the fresh mushrooms were very thinly shaved(I love that — it really helps release the flavor). The sauce had just a great, tart, fresh tomato taste. Ratios were perfect. My one knock on TBC is that pizzas only come in small(11 inch) or large(15 inch). I erred on the side of small(which we completely finished) as I was also firing up 4 meatballs. The meatballs were very herby, in a good way. They were a decent size and easy to fork through. The sauce, again, was on the tart, not sweet, side of the spectrum. All in all, if you live in the area, this is a great pizza to try. Much better(and less expensive) than the chains. We got out of there with pizza and meatballs for under $ 15. Oh, and there are apparently no traffic cameras in the area — a real bonus!
