I have loved happy Joe’s all of my life. I grew up in Dubuque Iowa and loved it when we could have happy Joe’s. I am 48 years old and it is still my favorite pizza of all time. I had the taco supreme as usual and it is still the best pizza ever. I ordered a large and it still is under $ 20 after all these years. Beyond that it was service with a smile, it was ready prior to when they said, and all is good.

Average pizza baked by a pleasant teenager in the gas station store. Close to hotel so convenience counts for a lot. A little over priced for the quality but not bad. The kids say«good pizza» so I’d probably go back.

Best pizza in the area. The taco pizza is a MUSTHAVE! I’ve had friends leave ND and whenever they come home for holidays, a Happy Joes Taco Pizza is a must! Must be saying something.

Happy Joes Pizza is my mom’s favorite. She introduced it to me. Their pizza is very well cooked. The crust is crunchy. The waiters are friendly and their service is pretty nice. I just love to be here always. I appreciates it a lot.

When I was a kid, Happy Joes was a large restaurant behind the Grand movie theaters. You could watch your pizza being made through a kitchen window accessible via a kid-friendly platform, order one of many flavors of ice cream(or get a free cone with a wooden nickel tossed out from the Happy Joes firetruck during a parade), or play video games, including a duck hunter game where you’d shoot across the main dining room toward a wall-mounted screen. That was a long time ago. Today, Happy Joes is a take-out counter in a gas station/car wash near 83 and Century. Not quite the same ambiance, and it barely has seating near the yogurt counter/gift shop. Amazingly, the pizza is still really good. My favorite since childhood is the taco pizza, a monster with a medium-thick crust, refried beans, seasoned ground beef, and sausage. It’s baked, then topped with lettuce, tomatoes, and orange Doritos. Top each slice off with at least one packet of hot sauce(or two, because it’s good), and you’ll never be happier with pizza.
