Management and shareholders of SpartanNash(ticker symbol SPTN if you would like to short the stock) would like to thank the residents of Bismarck for accepting the insanely high prices of Dan’s Supermarkets. Seriously, boycott this food retail chain, Bismarck residents! The prices at Dan’s are absolutely insane! Support anyone but price-gouging Dan’s!

Dans supermarket has a lot of good selections. Their prices are so much cheaper than target and other competitors around them. I have to be honest I only came here once as I am visiting family for the holidays and I live in Texas! All the groceries in general are so much more expensive than down south but this place was the cheapest among the ones I visited while I was here. Very clean store with friendly employees!

It’s a nice supermarket, don’t get me wrong. It’s just way too expensive. 9 dollars for a rotisserie chicken? You are out of your mind! Super overpriced but from what I hear it’s the freshest stuff compare to the other super markets. But this place makes Whole Foods look cheap…

Nice store layout, and great manager and assistant manager. it stops there. the workers in the store are either young or old. the young workers can seem clueless. i had a poor experience with one of the older women with a black name tag. She was rude and would not help me find some apple cider vinegar. The cashiers were apparently in high school, and were friendly but lacked some skill and seemed clueless, as stated below. the people with black name tags were not very nice, and acted like they ran the store. Nice produce, Deli and Meat. Expensive but quality price. just wish the older workers were a little nicer.

The short and sweet: nice location, great produce, meats, and fresh prepared food, friendly staff, but«shelf food» is a bit more expensive than elsewhere. Pick up the sales and fresh food but maybe buy your macaroni and cereal from a cheaper store.

My husband and I should practically have a share in Dan’s because of how much we are down there. We live pretty close, so it’s our go-to grocery store. Their produce is definitely the best in town, unless you are counting summer farmer’s markets of course. They have pretty much every vegetable I could ever need [and with vegan cooking, it’s a lot]. It’s also really fresh. I hate sketchy looking veggies. They have pretty decent ethnic sections, as well as bulk bins. Also, a huge bakery. They are great because they have a lot of veg products so that I don’t have to order over the internet such as daiya cheese and tons of non-dairy milk. The reason for the four-stars is being that [as specified by an early reviewer] the employees really have no idea what is going on in their store. I mean, I get it… I used to work at Dan’s. It’s a big store, but trying to get them to find me anything is like pulling teeth and normally by the time they figure it out, I could have found it myself. But all in all — it’s a great store. :)

Overpriced, but has the best produce and meats, has alot of employees but a lot of them don’t know much about the store.

I did all my small grocery shopping here. I felt like I was back home(the burbs of VA) going down the organics and stuff. If I had a fridge in my hotel room, I would’ve bought a week’s worth of stuff. The prepped foods were also pretty good, especially compared to the mile of fastfoods down the same street.

I was travelling on business in Bismarck and needed some simple groceries. For anyone who finds himself in my situation, Dan’s is a big grocery store with anything you could want and a nice organic foods section as well(as compared to any other non-health-food grocery store). I even picked up some sunflower seed butter, which was a nice surprise. I can’t compare it to local stores as I’m not from the area. Another pertinent bit of info: there is a large liquor store across the street – Captain Jack’s. There you have it!
