Sam’s Deli & Grill

My boyfriend and I wandered in here early on a Saturday morning while in town to watch a show. We were greeted by two smiling, friendly faces. I had an egg sandwich that was perfect and my boyfriend had the house omelette. The meat was so delicious and flavored with (I think) Greek spices. It was excellent! And we ate for $ 15 with two drinks.

I was having a really bad day and came in here for lunch. I’m from out of town so I don’t know anybody or anything in Alabama. I’m very, very happy I walked into Sam’s deli. The owner Sam was there, and he was very very kind. I ordered a tuna melt and it wasn’t what I expected. I started crying like a baby because it was one of those «last straw» kind of moments. The staff was so nice and let me reorder anything I wanted. I would recommend this place to anybody who likes good food and nice people! Also, they have lots of outdoor seating that is covered!

Great place in a great place. We were out riding bikes and headed to Saw’s who closed early on Thanksgiving Eve so we went to Sam’s. These guys are the nicest people in the world. Great food. Our Cheeseburger was huge. We were able to sit outside by our bikes so we weren’t worried about them either. Next time I’m riding in that area I’ll be stopping at Sam’s.

Great food and the people there are so friendly. It feels like visiting with long time friends every time i eat there! Deffinaly go! The burger is amazing!

Sam’s is a casual outdoor place that’s great for gyros, burgers, etc. The food it good, the people are friendly and the prices are light on the pocket.

Standard Mediterranean fare. Get some gyros, pitas, kafta, falafel, baklava, etc. You can also get some American grub. Just check out my photos for all the food options. I had the kafta pita, and it was pretty good. I’d get it again. I wouldn’t say I would go out of my way to eat here, but it is very affordable and tasty if you’re in the mood for this style of food. It’s certainly worth a try for anybody. The dining situation is pretty interesting. Basically, come here when the weather is nice. Almost all seating is practically outside, some under an awning and patio space, whatever. There are a couple bar seats inside where you order.

I couldn’t believe my eyes when I searched for this joint on Unilocal and couldn’t find Sam’s Deli & Grill, especially considering its prime spot near popular staples Dreamcakes & Saw’s.
Because I’ve been to Saw’s a billion times, I’d never given this place much thought until me and D wanted breakfast sandwiches around 3 PM and struck out at Sam’s Super Samwiches since they ran out of bacon (???), didn’t serve breakfast sandwiches past 11, and were indifferent to our potential business. This Sam’s came to the rescue, as they served breakfast sandwiches all day, did have bacon in stock, and were quite welcoming and all smiles.
My bacon, egg, and cheese was oozing hot on toasty bread and just what I needed. D got the sausage, egg, and cheese and was content. Reasonable prices too. The ordering area can get cramped, but there’s a lot of seating outside and in what looked to be a side room.
We want to come back another time to try the other menu offerings! Gyro’s going on the list! Looks like closed Sundays.
