4⁄5 because the bar area is a little small and getting a seat isn’t always easy. Plenty of decent booze and nice beers and ciders. The staff are all super nice. I’m limited by dietary restrictions but what I have eaten has been good. One of my friends eats here multiple times a week when the weather is good.

We live in the area so it is always in the rotation of stops. It seems like as simple as the menu is, it never disappoints. It’s a little bit of an art to have such a somewhat«basic» menu, and be so delicious! I am NOT one to say a statement like«this is THE best burger EVER!» I would say this is a contender though;) Do stop in

Excellent food and service. Great burgers. Small restaurant so there is a wait. Definitely recommend this restaurant for a casual dinner.

Great selection of bourbon and scotch which should be enough for a five star in its own right. But if you need other reasons to attend how about the reasonably-priced menu(particularly for Birmingham) and a great bartender!(Seriously, Whitney is great!) Good for a late-night drink and they even have a TV at the bar if you need to catch a late game or don’t feel particularly social. Also, while I didn’t order food — everything looked really solid including the desserts which were massive.

I can only speak for the drinks and nachos. I got a moscow mule and it was delicious! My friend got the lychee martini I believe. The nachos were huge and delicious. We came by here after a night of drinks and food at a nearby establishment. This was a great place to end the night.

How can you not fux with Luxe? This is THE prototypical neighborhood Birmingham bar dripping with cozy, casual opulence that comfortably surrounds as you dine on nothing but exquisitely crafted food. They serve my favorite burger and fries in Michigan and I say that with no hesitation. Bad ass chefs blaze you with a cunning culmination of perfectly selected ingredients that resonate like a volcanic eruption of flavor. I get the bacon cheeseburger each and every time and it has never failed me. Splendidly sharp cheddar merges with succulently seasoned beef and applewood bacon so decadent that I could order it by itself as an entrée. Skinny little light fries accentuate the plate and for what they lack in size is made up for in taste. Stupid good, really. Drinks are definitely on deck and reasonably priced. The unheralded star of the show is their happy hour menu which has deals aplenty and tasty treats like mahi mahi tacos. Love the design and atmosphere at Luxe plus the lovely hostesses, paitently precise servers and funny bartenders make it a great place to be. A quaint albeit fantastic dining destination for sure.

Love Luxe in Bham! The staff is great with the exception of the blond hostess that is not aware of what’s going on didn’t even say good bye as we walked out the door to busy texting RUDE! Other than her we love this place. The drinks are always good and the food is awesome. The salads, hamburgers, soups, sweet potato fries, and wings GREAT! Last night I had the lamp chops I ate it all yumo! The bartender is great too she has a great personality and makes eating at the bar pleasurable. Luxe in Bham is a go to place for us.

Yeah Luxe knows what they’re doing. We went on a Thursday afternoon w/some work people, so it was pretty low key. The ambiance was cozy, our server was friendly and attentive and the moderately large food order arrived promptly. Oh man the food: Brussels Sprout Salad was spot on, a couple different flavors working well together, by far my favorite!!! Sweet Sriracha Shrimp was killer. The Spicy Tenderloin Tips were packed full of flavor, they’re not shy about seasoning those. And we got their Buffalo Luxe Wings which were pretty good, not as awesome as everything else in our spread but seasoned and cooked well so nothing to complain about. I am a fan, and they’ve got a thorough menu so everyones guaranteed to find something that appeals. Go there, its A+

The veggie burger is legit the best veggie burger! It is a bit small in here, but nice. The portion sizes on the fries are massive. I love that you can do half sweet potato fries and half regular fries. All the food coming out of the kitchen looked great.

This restaurant has been on my list of places to try for some time now due to my friend’s consistent overwhelming praises. So, when she invited me here last Saturday, it was pretty much a non-brainer. My first issue was that there is no free parking close. I know Birmingham has free two hour parking in the parking structures but to my knowledge, there isn’t one close to the restaurant so metered parking it was. Of course, I didn’t have a lot of change so I had to go inside and get change and run back out to the meter. Pretty annoying. My second gripe is that they don’t do reservations. They will do «call aheads» though but this depends on the night and how busy they are. I don’t see the issue with restaurants not taking reservations. If people aren’t there at the time of the reservation, simply give the table away. Having to wait 45 min-1 hour + simply because you don’t take reservations is a sure fire way to turn people off from wanting to come to your restaurant. Any who, I’ll get off my soapbox for the moment. So, my friend calls to do a call ahead and of course on this particular night, they weren’t taking call aheads either. I arrive before my friend so I add our name to the list. The place isn’t large at all and everyone is cramped around in the front by the door and the bar area waiting to be seated. The hostess tells me the wait will be about 45 minutes for a table of two. I really wanted to head somewhere else but my friend insisted we stay and told me the food was worth the wait. I obliged her. So we waited and waited and waited. What I did not like at all was that I saw a party of four enter and get seated right away. Now, granted the sat four, it could have easily been spilt into two sections and sat two parties of two. I noticed another table had been waiting even longer than us and were getting tired of standing around. And then I noticed another couple of two enter, speak to the hostess in a very friendly manner as if they were good acquaintances or friends and they were seated before us. Now, I’m not sure if they were the owners or partners or had some other type of stake in the company but that doesn’t look good to customers who have been waiting much longer than them. Finally, we were seated. The space in between you and the next table isn’t very much at all either. It’s quite an intimate space. Anywho, my friend had been here several times and gave me here recommendations. We decided to go with the sweet sriracha shrimp and Luxe nachos for appetizers. I went with the Luxe cajun wings based on the great recommendation of my friend and a side of fries. You get 10 wings with the order and I wanted to do half Cajun and half Sesame Soy but was told by the waiter I could only order one flavor. Why? This did’t make sense to me. I could see if I was only getting 5 wings but I didn’t understand why I couldn’t do two flavors on 5 wings. This did not make me happy. Our waitress tried to be as accommodating as she could and offered to bring me some Sesame Soy sauce on the side. My friend got the Luxe burger and a side order of fries for her entrée. So how was the food, you ask? The shrimp was really good! It definitely had a kick! It also came with some green beans and tomatoes. They didn’t give you a lot of shrimp(maybe about 4 or 5) but they were definitely flavorful. And the nachos… oh, the nachos. They were excellent! The house chips were piled high with cheese, chili, jalapenos, lettuce, tomato and queso. It was a really nice, shareable portion and was delicious! My wings… I was not a fan. It had a weird taste to me. The sesame soy sauce on the side made it tolerable but I only ate one wing. The fries were okay. Nothing to write home about. All in all, I would recommend the shrimp and definitely the nachos. Everything else I could have passed on. My friend said her burger was good but I didn’t taste it to confirm. She also thought the cajun wings were great. I guess that just goes to show you that everyone’s taste buds are different. Will I be returning to Luxe? I won’t be running back anytime soon. Maybe, I’d place a carryout order of the shrimp and nachos but there are other places on my list I’d go to first. Just my two cents.

Amazing food! You HAVE to order the nachos. We usually get burgers or salads from Luxe. They have a delicious menu but the Greek salad, burger, and fries are delicious!

The burgers and appetizers(spicy shrimp and Brussels) were great! Impressed with the quality(over quantity) drink options. Try this spot if you are in Birmingham looking for a small trendy burger bar. Came here on a Saturday night. It was active and energetic inside. We had about a 30 minute wait. We have visited the GP location, but this was our first visit to the Birmingham location. Sriracha shrimp. This appetizer was spicy and flavorful. It includes spicy shrimp and spicy green beans. I will definitely order this again next time we come to Luxe. Brussels. These were also very good. Served over a salad. My wife loves these. I would put them at good enough to order, but I would go to another spot if I was craving Brussels specifically. Luxe burger. The burgers here are excellent. Our burger was properly prepared and played with just the right amount of toppings. The beer list was small, but the beers were very well selected. I regularly have a hard time finding my favorite beers(bourbon barrel, stouts, and porters) at some spots, but Luxe had a great selection of Michigan(+other) draft options. There were options from light to dark on draft. I enjoyed a draft Rasputin(imperial stout). My wife was also able to find a craft beer that she enjoyed very much.

I have had three great experiences in here recently. The hype has died down a bit and the wait it no longer ridiculous, but the quality of the food remains high and the wait staff is great.

I chose to go here for dinner with a few friends. I was hoping there wouldn’t be a wait. I was seated immediately and this was on a Saturday night. I was debating between the bacon or bleu cheese burger and the waitress told me the bleu cheese is good, so I gave it a go. The first third of the burger was really good, but after a while I got sick of the bleu cheese flavor. I managed to finish the burger. They are the perfect size and the buns are very fluffy. We also got a side of sweet potato fires which were excellent. The sauce they give you is okay, but I preferred ketchup. My friend got the bacon burger and said it was amazing, so if you’re debating I guess get that one instead. My other friend had the chicken fingers(basic I know) but goes, «they taste… Real.» I had a bite and the quality of their chicken is excellent, although the breading was alright.

We went to Luxe last night(Friday). It was so great! There was something going on in the park so there were very few people at the bar. We snagged a seat right away. The best part about the bar was the bartender. I feel foolish that I don’t remember her name but she was the pretty blonde. She made us some yummy old fashions. My BF ordered tacos and I got the steamed mussels and clams. Yum yum yum. I try and stay away from bread but I wanted to dunk it in that delicious tomato broth. We will go back for sure. I want to try one of the burgers.

I tried Luxe for the first time and held high expectations and standards due to the fact that it’s located in Birmingham, where most good food resides. Therefore, I critically evaluated the restaurant from my first time experience. First off, I’d like to say that the ambiance of a restaurant really attracts the customer and makes the experience more enjoyable. Therewith, the atmosphere gave off a nice and cozy feel, sort of like a tavern. The hostess and waiters were great and very familiar with the intricacy of the menu. My burger, however, was not cooked to my expectations. I told them that I’d like it cooked medium well; my burger kind of tasted like it was burnt. However, I’d have to say, their french onion soup was amazing; It was very different, which was what I liked about it. Overall, my experience was nice, but nothing special.

Went here for dinner this past Thursday evening. Ordered 2 Luxe burgers, cajun wings, and french fries. Burgers were good. Meat was cooked as I had ordered(med. rare) and I chose Gruyère as my cheese of choice. Good beefy flavor, supple bun, and Luxe sauce — which tasted of the garlic aioli persuasion — was tasty. Fries are a big enough serving for two. Crispy and well-seasoned. But in the words of Mahatma Ghandi, «I’m just here for the chicken wings, beloved.» The cajun wings are what stood out in this particular dining experience. So crispy, juicy, spicy, well-seasoned and a GOODSIZEDWING. NOTLITTLEDINKYWINGS! I took a bite of the wing and hot juices burst forth, causing a sweet burn on my fingers. I didn’t mind. They were definitely the best wings I’ve had thus far this year. Service was great. Attentive and kind. Food came out quick too. I will be back for those wings.

I visited this restaurant today to grab a drink with my wife, sister and cousin. We sat down and ordered a few things to share and I asked if they had a list of bourbons they offered, which they did. We ordered a few menu items and I was intrigued by the Old Blowhard 26 year bourbon, so I ordered a glass on the rocks. The waitress asked if I wanted a rocks pour because that was a little more expensive. I said yes and that’s fine. I wanted 1 drink on the rocks as I was driving and that would have been perfect. The waitress came back with a glass 1⁄3 full of ice and bourbon. I’m not one to complain about anything like this, but kept looking at the amount and so did the girls I was with. I questioned the pour to the waitress, which replied that was all they had left and they would charge me regular and not for a rocks pour. I have a disappointed look and the waitress asked if I would like for her to take it back and get something else. I said please, and I would look over the list for my next choice. A lady then came over to our table(I was assuming to apologize). Instead she said she couldn’t believe that I ordered a drink and returned it, «you are so rude», she said. I explained that I ordered a rocks pour and got a little dinky drink and I didn’t appreciate her calling me rude. She replied«ughhh, I never said that». And I looked around at everyone at the table and she explained to her she did. She kept going on, I can’t believe someone would order an expensive drink like that and just send it back. I explained again… It was not what I ordered. She then said, «well it’s what you would have paid for. I’m the manager here and my dad owns this place!» Her tone was very very aggressive and degrading. I explained, if I ordered a full slab of ribs, you can’t just bring me half a slab and charge me for half. You should have explained before pouring the drink. She then proceeded to argue with me and ended with, «this is not getting anywhere, I’m just gonna walk away.» I stood up and said– well so am I and I made sure to tip the waitress and walked out. I couldn’t believe the attitude. Without even asking she had to throw in that she was the manager and her dad owns the restaurant. I can’t believe her family allows her to manage this place. She is definitely not qualified. I have never had such a horrible experience at a restaurant. I would really like for her family to step in and train her how to resolve situations as they have a few successful restaurants. I am not easily bothered and am still very bothered about the attitude of this lady.
