I don’t know. Is it the best steakhouse in town? No. But it’s good. I goto this place once a year. Every time, I leave thinking, «if money isn’t an object, I’ll eat here everyday to shorten my life». For me to think that, I’ll give 4 stars.

I took my sister and mom for Dinner. We also had two kids with us. Our server, Chelsea was great. She was so good with the kids and accommodating. She was totally on top of the game. The food was delicious. I got the Chilean Sea Bass with Crab Meat. It was so so so good and fresh. My sister and mom got Steaks. They steaks were cooked to perfection. For sides we got the Flemings Potatoes, Mac & Cheese and Sautéed Mushrooms. All great and fresh. Absolutely love the atmosphere, service and food. The manager was really nice too and interacted with the kiddos. She also checked on us several times to make sure all was well. Definitely hope to return.

Went for the first time with my friends and boy was it worth it! The pork belly app was so good! Loved the combination of flavors going on in this dish. Then we all got the dry aged ribeye. The steak was so tender and was full of flavor. We all had our steaks cooked medium. Mine had just the right amount of searing on the outside, while the middle was tender and juicy. You must try their signature Fleming potatoes. I guarantee you you’ll want to order a second one. The sides are enough to share with others. Since me and my friends were celebrating our birthdays together, they gave us a $ 25 gift card, and two boxes of chocolate truffles! Talk about treating you good. Our waiter was exceptional, and so were the other servers. We had a great dining experience, and will definitely be back! Great job Fleming’s!

I can honestly say that I will not be back. The food was good but for the price… not worth it. I would rather go to Highlands or Café Dupont any day of the week. You can tell this place is a chain by the service and some of the food. I would say do not waste your time or money on this place.

Coming from New York to Alabama, the price of this place shocked me a bit. That said, the food was absolutely amazing. We all ordered steak(mostly the Filet). It was perfectly cooked, tender, and succulent. Juices poured out of the meat as I cut into it. I ordered it with the porcini sauce at the waiters suggestion, which was mushroom Gorgonzola cream heaven. They have options of many rubs and sauces, in addition to iron crusting(basically searing the steak to give it a crunchier outside). The sides we ordered(creamed spinach, mac&cheese, asparagus, potatoes) were all decent as well, but man, nothing could beat that steak. The potatoes were probably the best side dish(their specialty). They have a trendy iPad drink list, with hundreds of wine choices, beer, and cocktails. If I lived 1000 miles closer, and was rich, I’d return regularly.

We had not visited here in some time and decided to celebrate my husband’s birthday here. Not sure why we stayed away so long. We had a wonderful meal. No complaints. The atmosphere and staff were very pleasant and helpful. The filets we ordered were perfect. The lava cake and carrot cake were absolutely wonderful. The bottle of DuMol Pinot noir was beyond excellent. Fantastic evening. Highly recommended!

Food and service were good. I got the Alaskan King Crab legs which I was surprised when they came out the amount looked small compared to other chop houses I’ve been to. My husband got the Dry Aged Prime Ribeye, which he thought was one of the best steaks he has ever eaten. We also got the Fleming potatoes to share, which was a great portion for 2 – 3 people, and they were delicious! I did enjoy the atmosphere as it was more relaxed than other chop houses I’ve been to. Overall we shared our meals and it was great with a bottle of wine! Be prepared to spend a pretty penny.

I am a little confused as to exactly what I want to say about Fleming’s, because it seems to be a mix of different types of restaurants. Be advised that the menu is expensive(as in one of the most expensive, if not the most expensive, that you will encounter in Birmingham.) That being said, I did not really get much of a fine dining vibe overall. The dining room is very nice, but opens to the bar where we were treated to the music that was playing over there. From where we were sitting, I could not tell if the music(which was some sort of top 40 type mix) was just floating over from the bar or if it was piped throughout the entire dining room. All I do know is that the music felt like we were at a much cheaper restaurant. The dining room is also very large and open, and a bit on the loud side. I was reminded of the main dining restaurant on a cruise ship… which is not a bad thing in and of itself, but not as desirable for the price paid. The server was amazing, as was the manager that made several passes by. I also love the«wine i-pads» that are brought to your table, which contain an awesome selection of wines. I was surprised to see that they offered a good selection of wines that would not break the bank too… and they were delicious! We had the beef carpaccio which was very good, but not the best that I have ever had. We each had the wagyu beef strips, which were absolutely delicious! My partner chose to have his with a coffee rub, but I took mine plain and medium rare. They were both cooked perfectly and were nice sized pieces of meat(not sure if they were $ 57 worth of nice sized… but they were amazing!) Since the steaks come with nothing else on the plate, we ordered the Fleming’s potatoes to split. I thought they were pretty good, but my partner was not as impressed with them. The fine dining issues came up again when they used a crumb sweeper after the appetizer, yet my partner’s plate was taken long before mine was. I know this may seem like a picky thing to point out… but after spending almost $ 300(including tip) for 2 bottles of their least expensive wine, 1 appetizer, 2 steaks, and a shared side, I would expect fine dining on every level. All in all, if you are looking for a truly spectacular meal in an intimate setting, where everything is truly fine dining, you would be much better served to pay a visit to one of the many amazing local restaurants(with their award winning chefs) that Birmingham has to offer. Plus, you will end up spending anywhere from 40−50% less for the food to boot!

My go-to spot when I’m in Birmingham. On my last trip, they accommodated our party above and beyond. Very knowledgeable about the wine and liquor, and honest about what are the best menu items. This place never disappoints, and comes with my strong recommendation to get the seafood tower!

Excellent, Service, atmosphere and food! The waitstaff is that of a long forgotten Era when you were actually served and their priority was to please cimfortable, happy and make sure you enjoyed your meal. Excellent wine selections. Their Calamari appetizer with sweet Chile sauce is spectacular. They also have I believe the best French Onion Soup I have tasted in a restaurant. My Steak always superb, they cook lobster«spot on». If you end with a delightfully sinful desert know that they will recommend their mocha lava cake which is rich and decadent, but I love the Walnut Turtle pie & Crème Brulée! Great place to celebrate an anniversary, birthday, any special occassion or just a date. You will not leave dissapointed!

Came here for one of the specials that they were advertising — their prime rib dinner, 3 courses for $ 29/person and was blown away. This place is definitely on the expensive side. The special definitely helped fit it into the budget. The food was delicious. We got an appetizer, the roasted Portobello Mushroom ravioli, and my only complaint on it was that there wasn’t enough! We were soon served the prime rib, and it was fantastic. Between the appetizer, the salads, and the main meal, we had to save room for dessert. Thankfully, they brought us boxes out for everything and my GF was able to have a nice meal the next day as well. Overall, very happy with the dinner we had here. Since it’s on the pricey side, we’ll save it for special occasions or when they are running another special like that!

I met some colleagues for dinner here recently and had an overall positive experience. Having dined at many, many steakhouses across the country, I would estimate that this location will likely meet your expectations when compared to cost. Service was friendly and efficient. The French onion soup was some of the best that I’ve had. I had the filet mignon paired with potatoes. The filet was cooked to my specification(well done), but was still tender and flavorful. The potatoes were all also flavorful. It didn’t have as much of an upscale feel as some similar priced steakhouses, but the quality of food and service certainly will meet your expectations. Will certainly return when in the area.

I went for appetizers and drinks with a friend. I recommend the blackberry bramble. It’s fresh, light and refreshing. We sat at the bar and the bartender was super attentive and friendly. I’m sure the dining service is great but you don’t always get the same from the bar so I commend them on this. The French onion soup is very good. I’ll definitely return for dinner some time.

Fleming’s holds a special place in my heart because my husband took me here for our one year dating anniversary back in 2005. I had never been to as nice a restaurant as Fleming’s ever. We’ve probably gone at least 3 times a year since then(so let’s say 30 times) and sadly the last 6 – 8 times we’ve been, the service has really gone down hill. Food is still amazing but it’s obvious their service standards have been lowered. A couple examples from the last few visits: 1) I asked for coffee with dessert and the waiter poured the coffee all over my husband’s back because instead of setting the cup on the table THEN filling it up, the server instead fills it while holding the saucer and low and behold the top to the coffee pot was not on securely and it all dumped out over my husband. 2) Had to ask for bread multiple times on different occasions, a few times it wasn’t brought out until our entrees had arrived 3) the server assistant stood at one corner of the table and reached across our friends faces to fill out water glasses(like literally my girlfriend had to sit back to avoid an armpit) 4) the server assistant stacked our dirty plates in his arms next to me and dropped a fork in my lap and didn’t even apologize 5) we ordered their famous lava cake and when we told our server that there was no lava inside and that it was dry and overcooked, he goes«oh it’s supposed to be that way.»(BULL%%IT!) 6) this is minute but servers at such a fine restaurant should serve from the left and pull from the right 7) this last time we walked in and one of the hostesses looked up at us and asked about out reservation to which we confirmed our table of 4 then one of the other hostesses we see grabs 4 menus and starts walking away. we stood there for a second before we thought to ask the first hostess«where we supposed to follow her because she didn’t say anything?» and the first hostess goes«oh, yeah.» I keep meaning to email the manager but hopefully he or she reads these. we’ll go back for the steak(the last one I had there was the best I’ve ever had) but I hope they bring their service standards back up.

Tried the new 8 for $ 9 ’til 10 Bar Menu Short Rib Empanadas are a must. Filet Mignon Flatbread was very tasty. Wicked Cajun Shrimp was not overly spicy and quite good. Ahi Tuna Tacos were good but could use a little more Ahi. Lobster Lettuce Wraps were good but presentation was not what I expected and a little awkward to eat. Baked Brie was my least favorite and I would not order it, but that may be more of a personal taste. If you like Brie, I say give it a try. Did not get to try the Prime Rib Dip or Prime Burger. Overall liked the new menu and would recommend giving it a try. Only suggestion would be for Fleming’s to add something sweet other than cocktails.

My fiancé and I came here for his birthday. I knew it was expensive, but even at $$$ in the reviews, I don’t think I really knew HOW expensive. This is definitely a special-event-type place for us. We did not have a reservation, but that did not deter them from seating us right away. We had pork belly for appetizer, which was quite delicious. The cocktails were tasty as well. For our first visit to this steakhouse, of course we ordered the steak, even if the other entrees sounded tempting. We each had the ribeye, which just so happens to be my favorite cut. My steak was ordered medium-rare, and it came out under done — which i prefer over OVER done, if that could be a preference — but still, at a higher-end place that specializes in steak, I would expect the temperatures to be spot-on. That was the only disappointment of the night, and the main reason Fleming’s was docked one star. Our server also complained to us a little bit about his personal issues, which I found to be a tad off-putting, but he was otherwise very knowledgeable and accommodating. We didn’t have to decide on a dessert; the server had asked us if was a special occasion, and because it was a birthday, they brought out a box of truffles! Our food was good enough that we would venture to come back here occasionally, but I would not rate it above, or choose it over, other nice restaurants in town. It was an above average experience, and an above average meal. I do think we may try to come back to sit in the bar area for some of their happy hour specials on drinks and food.

Quality steaks with ample variety: more than 3 ribeyes, 2NY strips, and filet mignon like butter! Service is good. WinepPad makes selection of wine easy and fun. You can select from 100 wines(modest to extravagant) with the option of seeing exact descriptions(% of blends, taste, etc.) and pairings. Location is at the bottom of the Summit(off beaten path), but the upside is there’s always parking and valet as well. Coupons, specials, and survey coupons available most of the time, so pricey bill is usually $ 25+ off per meal. Enjoy from the appetizer to the desert.

What a fantastic experience this was!!! We had a business meeting with a couple of customers and decided to sit in the main dining area even though our initial intent was simply to have a happy hour. Our server was incredibly accommodating and did a great job of suggesting specific drinks and a way to order appetizers for the group that would make sense. She even took it upon herself to bring us extra sauces that she thought went particularly well with the items we had on our shared plate. The drinks were fantastic! The variety of available wines along with really creative cocktails made this an ideal place to catch up after a long day. We also found the hostess and the valet to be courteous, efficient, and all-around very welcoming. I look forward to returning to this restaurant when I am next in the area. If you decide to go, definitely have the lobster tail appetizer.

Another exquisite culinary mouth party. Everything just worked out; I called on the way about 6:20pm asking for a bar table for me and one other. I got an email confirming this reservation as I parked my car. I walk in and sat right down in really busy bar about 6:45pm. That was surprising. As I was away from the table, my companion ordered onion soup for 2. This was much improved, I wouldn’t have ordered it after having it before. But, It was good. The Cowboy Steaks were cooked perfectly and really tasty. The sides of creamed spinach and potatoes where also very good. The finish, The cream brûlée was perfect. The waiter(s) service was outstanding. There wine suggestions dead on. The bad news is you have to pay for it. An mean you really pay for it. It never seems to fail they will always bring you a bill to pay before you leave. If only they could stop doing that.
