I’m beyond impressed! My family had been bragging on this place for months, and for good reason. After looking at the menu I honestly couldn’t see what the big deal was, now I get it. I was commanded to order the braised brisket sandwich with Alabama white sauce and caramelized onions. With the first bite I let out a moan of indescribable pleasure that was just… well think Meg Ryan here. The Southern chicken salad and bacon sandwich was equally satisfying, and the Bluebird fried chicken salad was absolutely perfect. But the capper was the chocolate bread pudding. My daughter dove on that thing before I could get a good picture but it was a huge bowl of rich fudgy perfection. My son didn’t give me a bite of his blackberry/peach pie but he’s a new dad so he needed the full fortification of those beautiful blackberries he grew up on. They have a full bar with counter service for ordering. Homemade ice cream is also featured in addition to a variety of cookies and other treats from the bakery. This was as good of a surprise I’ve had lately and I plan to make this a regular stop when I’m in town. One of their managers spent several minutes with us to share the secret of that one of a kind brisket and that was much appreciated. My new favorite lunch spot in Birmingham.

Very good service. The food is fresh and well– prepared. A good selection of local beers, and a well-stocked bar. Their bakery makes the best baguettes in the city.

This place is fire! I had the la torta and it was the creamiest, crunchiest awesomest sandwich ever! I love this place

I am so in love with Brick and tin. When I want a truly delicious, perfect lunch… this is where I go. It is easily the best lunch in town. Today was no exception… I had the brisket sandwich, my favorite go to sandwich. Please never take it off the menu. I’ll be so upset. It is cooked and seasoned perfectly… On the most delicious bread with the perfect amount of white sauce. My sweet pea soup was served so hot, even as a to go soup. It had the perfect, most delicate amount of mint. My brown butter coconut cookie was a chewy-coconut– salty piece of heaven and the seasonal strawberry cookie with marshmallow reminded me of a gourmet version of my all time favorite Pepperidge Farm Verona Cookie. I can’t say enough good things about this place.

Food was pretty good. You could tell there were nice fresh ingredients. Limited choices. However, not a good value. My salad with brisket and a glass of tea was $ 20. I was not happy that I had to sit and eat my meal at the bar. The glare from outside cars blinded me with light and I couldn’t look at my lunch companion. I would have preferred to sit at a table. 2 large tables were reserved for 5+ people. When it became full why not let people double up at that table.

I recently had my first experience at Brick & Tin for a Sunday brunch. The atmosphere was relaxed with orders being taken at a register and meals delivered to your table by servers. Coffee was also self-serve, which I appreciated since it meant I could easily get several cups. For a Sunday, the restaurant was busy but not packed. My friend and I set decided to forgo any wait by opting to sit at the full service bar area instead of a table. Our waiter was very friendly and extremely helpful. I order The Toad and Hole which consisted of a piece of toast with a poached egg, avocado, swiss cheese, and tomatoes on top. It was delicious although the egg was severely over poached. My friend opted to order the Brie Biscuit which in her opinion was good but needed less jam and more biscuit. I personally thought that while the food was delicious, the food was slightly overpriced. From what I understand, the brunch menu changes every week, but the current menu is available on their website. I would definitely suggest this as a great brunch option in the Mountain Brooke area. It is also very close to the Birmingham Botanical Gardens which provides a great Sunday afternoon activity. Bottom Line: Brunch with caution.

The restaurant is beautiful and rustic with outdoor seating. We came for brunch and the servings were very filling. Everyone was very friendly, our waiters Collin and Cody were very patient, knowledgeable, attentive and cared whether we enjoyed our meal. The food was so great! Will definitely return!

This place is INCREDIBLE! I honestly wish they have a location in Houston so I could visit regularly. This is an ADORABLE restaurant in a super cute area of town. We had gone to the zoo and wanted to grab a bite before walking the botanical gardens and we came across Brick and Tin and were so happy! The service is great. They’re friendly(everyone from the cashier to the food runner to the busser were super nice and personable!) Now the food. Omg. Y’all it is GOOD. My mom and my sisters and I all ate every scrap of food on our plates. I got the brisket panini with mushroom soup. They obviously use incredibly high quality ingredients with great care. The mushroom soup was like velvet. The flavor was nuanced and just fantastic. Easily the best mushroom soup I’ve ever eaten. The brisket panini was awesome! The meat, the onions, even the bread. Everything was spot on! My sisters had the butternut squash soup and one had a ham sandwich the other a turkey. They ate every last bit and were raving. My mom got the tacos with a side salad and couldn’t stop talking about how delicious and unique the dressing was. Honestly? I could have eaten every meal in Birmingham here and been very happy. This is a can’t miss spot.

This is my goto spot for a nice relaxing meal. They have good beer specials, typically one local beer on special per day. Plus, it is a great atmosphere for a cold one(or glass of wine if you prefer). My favorite dinner so far has been the Brisket Sandwich. The brisket has always been tender with just the right amount of smoke. The sauce they add is light and not over powering. If you stop by I beg you to get a soup to complement your sandwich. They all are delish. My favorite has been the butternut squash soup with the potato coming in at a close second. This place is top notch! Great food and great atmosphere.

WOULD I TAKEMYMOTHERHERE? Yes. In fact, I did today. Unfortunately, my mother ordered steak tacos, and they brought out chicken tacos instead. When we inquired about the switch, they said they were out out of steak, did not offer her the opportunity to change dishes, and placed the chicken tacos on the table. This is obviously not a monumental mishap, but certainly not negligible either. The red snapper and grits was amazing, and I like their purposefully limited menu. The staff was friendly, and I would certainly come back. As the NFL Sunday anchors would say regarding the mishap, however, «C’mon man!»

This place is awesome. I am a huge fan. Unfortunately, I still have not had their breakfast brunch on the weekend. I HAVEHEARD that the breakfast is unreal. Until then, I will leave my review based on their lunch and dinner selection… Set-up: Laid back, casual, dim lighting, great casual date night spot. Super good spot for a nice, relaxing dinner with friends or loved ones. Table seating is pretty limited though, but, seating at the bar shouldn’t be a problem. Food: Some of the best food in town. From scallops to sandwiches, you can’t go wrong. My favorite item on the menu is the brisket sandwich. Unreal. The chicken sandwich is a close second. The scallops are out of the world. The chicken tacos come straight from Guatamala The salad was probably picked from Jesus’s garden And the guys and gals who make the drinks behind the counter must have trained at a school equivalent to Yale. The best part of Brick & Tin… the price. Extremely REASONABLE for the value of food you receive. WOULD I BRINGMYMOTHERHERE? Already have. Oh, and when she visits again, this will be the first spot we come to.

Love that this place uses local produce and farms to create their entrees. Not to mention it’s delicious. It’s a great change from a Panera bread. Still get soup, sandwich, and salad options… Just fresher and better ambiance. Check it out!

What a great sammie, salad, and soup place. I usually get the brisket with a simple salad. It is filling. And I am a big guy. The soups are always on point. It is usually crowded. But people share tables. So have a seat.

I have been to the downtown location many MANY times. Today was my first trip to this location in Mountain Brook Village. The quality of their sandwiches and soups have always been top notch and this location was no different. I mean both are not«oh its a good sandwich and decent soup». I mean, they are literally both TOPNOTCH. Fresh, quality ingredients served to perfection. I got the brisket sandwich, which is some of the best brisket you will find in town. It is my go to sandwich. And once again, as good as I always remember. The soup today sounded weird, black bean and sweet potato. But there was nothing weird about the flavor. Everything was delicious. My only complaint about this location is the drink situation. I am a heavy drinker… not that kind of heavy drinker! But with my meals, I drink my iced beverages on the quick side. Whether that be tea, water, or Coke. Places like this that are order at the counter and deliver your food to the table, should be serve your own drinks. The other location is, and this one is not. And as predicted, half a sandwich left and empty glass. They did offer a to-go tea at the end, so that helped make up for it. Overall a great experience with on slight change. If you haven’t tried Brick & Tin yet, it is a must do if you are a sandwich and soup person.

Continues to be a hit for my family! My brother is in town from Austin and this is one of his favorite Birmingham restaurant he must stop by at. My husband and I shared the Provence panini, potato soup, and the Pueblo salad entrée. Plenty of food and very tasty. I especially loved how refreshing the salad was. My brother had the Monterey with barley. The Monterey was good, but a bit too heavy for this weight watchers gal. The barley was awesome and I wish we had ordered that instead of soup. We ordered chicken fingers for our 18 month old. One was enough for him. They were well done! We stopped at the bakery and picked out the flourless chocolate cookie and butternut squash blonde. I had a small bite of each. Cookie wasn’t our fav — but the blondie was a winner today. We continue to love B&T! Family friendly with good food – perfect for Birmingham!

Why did I not already come here!!! This place is so good. Very fresh and delicious. The service was pretty friendly. I had a coupon I got online, but I will definitely come back even without a coupon in the future. I like this spot a lot, and I hear the downtown option is also very neat; maybe even better.

I’ve been to the Brick and Tin in downtown Birmingham and had a great experience, so I was expecting similar from this location. For the most part, I was not let down, with a couple of exceptions. First off, the location. It’s great if you live in Mountain Brook, very central to everything and clearly marked. Parking is on the street but isn’t bad. The building has space for maybe 50 people inside with room for maybe a dozen outside. We came here for lunch on a Saturday. Thankfully, there wasn’t a line to order(you order at the bar, then find a seat and your food will be brought. Or you can sit at the bar, which is full-service). Unfortunately, there were no tables open so we ended up wedged between two large folks at the bar. Unfortunate but not the restaurant’s fault. When they say the bar is «full service», they’re not being entirely honest. The bartender will take your order at some point and will give you your check at some point, but she was way too busy to do either in a timely fashion. The drinks looked fantastic but we didn’t try them this time. The menu is small. There are about five options for sandwiches, five more for soup, then a daily soup and«seasonal side» which I think is always some kind of farro(kind of like wild rice). I ordered the turkey sandwich that came on honey wheat with avocado, bacon, alfalfa sprouts, and a poppyseed vinaigrette with the farro. My SO ordered a salad with lime dressing and the brisket. My sandwich was fine. It wasn’t great, just fine. The turkey looked like grocery store turkey and the bread was toasted yet soggy. The avocado and bacon were great. The farro was pretty good but both my spouse and I agreed it tasted like health food. I try to eat healthy but expected better. My spouse’s salad was also just okay. Again, it tasted like there was more care taken to making sure it was healthy than tasty. The brisket was very good. There’s a brisket sandwich that I would definitely recommend. There is a bakery in the back of the restaurant that I highly recommend. We picked up some tomato focaccia that absolutely blows my mind. All in all, not a bad trip. We will try Brick and Tin again for sure, but will order different food next time.

Really enjoyed my dinner at Brick and Tin. Got the brisket sandwich and had the Alphine salad as the side. The brisket sandwich was a good size with plenty of meat on it. The bread was a great pairing with the meat and the white sauce really complimented the flavor of the brisket well. The side salad was very large for a side and all the ingredients were very fresh. The service was fast and they were very conscious to make sure we always had what we needed. I went with 4 people so we completed a bottle of water quickly but they replenished it frequently and made sure to take our plates right when we finished eating. The atmosphere of this restaurant is also excellent. The decorations are very modern and its a fun environment to have a delicious meal! You definitely should check it out

I usually go to the Brick & Tin downtown but I love this one too. They did a great job with the décor, it is really beautiful during the early lunch hours when light is pouring in. I’ve noticed it gets a bit crowded during lunch do I suggest going as early as you can,(they open at 10:30 and I went at 11 yesterday with no trouble). The sandwiches and salads and soups are all really great, and with that menu you can understand why especially the Mountain Brook location is frequented by women. I really like the meatless Tuscan sandwich option but I’ve liked every sandwich I’ve had(yesterday I tried the mayflower). Definitely an easy go-to for lunch that is not super unhealthy but also very delicious.
