Our server was really entertaining, very chatty and gossipy. Interesting fact, the executive chef they have on their website doesn’t even work at Bellini’s… The food just wasn’t that good and more luke warm than actually hot when it arrives at your table. It was just me and my date. You would think they would be able to manage getting 2 entrees to the table while still hot. The food didn’t taste very fresh either.

First time here… Wait staff were attentive and very informative and helpful with menu. I ordered Salmon and was amazing. Expensive but well worth the price. Great spot for anniversary or date night. Make reservation and avoid any wait!

Ate brunch here on a Saturday, and was pretty impressed aside from one thing. For appetizers, I had the Italian Wedding Soup, and my wife had a house salad. My wife really liked the dressing that was made in-house, and the soup was very tasty and fresh. For the entrees, I had a bacon pimiento burger with a pasta salad side, and my wife had the chicken bowtie pasta. Well, they only get four stars because my burger was burned. I told the blond watergirl who retrieved our plates, but no one spoke to me about it from management. However, I did eat a bacon pimiento bun, and it was really good, ha ha. Also, the bowtie pasta salad side was the best I’ve ever had. My wife liked her entrée. We’ll be back, but I hope they don’t burn my burger again.

Bellini’s is the perfect combination of great food, great service and a relaxing atmosphere. My happy hour experience truly was a happy one. Not only was the bar tender pleasant but they were very attentive. The food is the true star of the show here– the duck tacos and the crab cakes are some of the best I’ve had and are a must try when you visit– the ambience is what ties the overall experience together. Diner service requires a reservation, but just for a great after work cocktail with a five star bar menu, there’s not a better place! I truly recommend Bellini’s

Service, great. Chef made an off menu dish for me. I asked for veal piccata. It was delicious. Not a bread pudding fan but tried anyway after hearing raves. Was not disappointed. Will definitely be back.

My children took me out for Mothers Day on Saturday, total of six. All of them out of state visitors so I picked! This was my first lunch menu experience, & everyone was pleased. I had the salmon– very tasty but the linguini was too soft for my taste. Not a big deal right? I tasted the gnocchi– yum! I had a salad with nuts & cheese, very good & dinner size so we shared. My big eater son enjoyed his lasagna but thought it was too small… I agreed. All in all, the kids raved about the food, service & ambience… Cha ching!!! I meant to mention the super affordable reasonable excellent on your wallet prices at lunch!!!

Ate here last night with a group from work and it was outstanding. Everyone loves their food. I got the red snapper and it was great. Also great was the wine list and the jalapeño Mac and cheese. Great for large groups.

If I could give this 10 stars I would. When you first see the restaurant it is located in a small strip of shops which is very misleading. Once you walk through the door you enter a beautifully decorated upscale restaurant . My husband and I asked for the Chef’s tasting menu and they were happy to accommodate. Executive Chef Bryan Cates came to the table with each serving and gave us the story of the food. The waitress and waiter were attentive and diligent giving us a superb level of service. Grilled romaine appetizer was superb, we’re still trying to duplicate it at home ! Panko encrusted crab/meatball, snapper with lobster risotto, braised duck breast, seared ribeye(perfectly cooked) and SO much more than I can begin to describe. I’m not a dessert girl but their white chocolate bread pudding has made a believer out of me. As Chef Bryan states… this is the local version of crack. LOL Give this restaurant a try, you will NOT regret it OR forget it.

To quote my date: «it wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t anything else». To start, as a self-appointed bread connoisseur, the opening palate-whetter was akin to a king roll dipped in plain olive oil. No spices, no balsamic, no seeds, no herbs. An oily loaf to dip in oil. Calorie-dense, flavorless stomach stuffing. My main dish was chicken piccata which turned out to be just as much soup as it was pasta. Battered and fried tender chicken with heaps of capers and mushrooms would have made for a decent dish, but the fact you have to fish it out of the liquid-laden bowl left something to be desired. My date had eggplant parmesean and had little more to comment than«meh». The server was perfectly fine, staying on top of drinks and making sure we had what we needed. He seemed new, but I’m not sure that was the case. The atmosphere was an attempt at sophistication. Brick walls, appropriate ambiant noise, tablecloth. The faux-art(the painted Bellini’s sign/piece at the bar) really doesn’t help anything though: we know what restaurant we came to. We didn’t have especially high expectations, and we’re not even sure they were met.

This is one of our favorite places to go on a Saturday afternoon. Great food, good company, great service. We love everything! The Chicken Piccata, Gorgonzola Burger, and best fried Calamari I ever tasted!

Visited for lunch today and had a great server Alexandra! We ordered the crab cakes for our app then I ordered Salmon over the pasta which was awesome! My husband had the Marsala over potatoes. His was good but I think mine was better;) This was my first time to visit. Lunch was a great start. We will definitely be back!

Unfortunate changes it seems at this once fine restaurant? Scallops over beet risotto /scallops were raw and cold in the center, had to send back to kitchen. Beef Burger chef special order medium well and received extremely rare, red raw ground beef? The type of thing that will cause people to get sick — uncooked seafood and ground beef?! My wife and I did not finish our meals as a result, let the waiter know — who by the way was the best aspect of the meal, the guy was attentive, service splendid, and he was embarrassed by what the kitchen had given him to present to us when he saw what we pointed out. The manager on duty did come to the table and remove the food from our check, however that shouldn’t ever have happened were the kitchen and chef inspecting food prep, temperatures, and general quality. It’s unfortunate, was a favorite, but can clearly tell things have changed, portions of side items and the calamari appetizer have become unnecessarily massive versus standing on quality of dishes. Definitely a different approach to the food here and not a good difference. Hope they iron out the kinks and improve significantly upon the food to get back to the high standards of the past!

Service was outstanding as it always has been, however, the menu seems to have suffered a bit under the new chef. Quality of food versus the price is a fraction of what this restaurant once offered. Risotto was undercooked while a fellow diner’s steak arrived from the kitchen charred. Appetizers were of high quality and a good value selection.

Really good food. Nice, quiet atmosphere. Not a whole lot of privacy as some tables are separated by curtains. I was expecting more from the service side. Dont get me wrong, our server was great. However, when I made the reservation, they asked if I was celebrating anything. I told them a birthday, and this information was either not passed on or acknowledged until after we said something. I feel as though if youre gonna ask, you should actually do something with the information. It was a slow Sat night too! So, no decorated plate for dessert:( As far as the food goes, it was pretty good. I started out with the wedge, which does not have the traditional wedge taste(eggs, gorgonzola dressing), but it was still pretty good. I recommend spitting it(lrg portion). The filet fricassee was great. I would recommend you try it if youre a steak person & want a little more flavor with it. The jalapeño mac and cheese was good and actually went really well with my steak, but thats just my personal taste. Bread pudding, good. I would recommend it if you live on that side of town.

I would give this place six stars if Unilocal allowed it. I was only in area for a few nights and I went to this place two nights in a row. The Chicken Piccata was probably the best I’ve ever had. The service was impeccable, atmosphere around the bar was lively and the prices were very fair. If you are in the Birmingham area and love Italian food, you have to eat here!

We came in late without a reservation, and were luckily seated at one of the last tables they had. The place was packed, but we had great service. I had the chicken marsala, which was great. The GF had some alfredo, and both of us were very happy with the meals and enjoyed it. Definitely a great place for a date night!

This has become my local go to neighborhood restaurant! Consistently good food, some of my fav’s are the grilled Caesar salad, Beef Carpaccio, Chicken Piccatta, Bolognese Ravolio with Sunday Sauce, Filet’s are amazing and of course the bread pudding(very rare for me to eat desert but this one is so good). Bartenders are attentive and good and their trade.

My boyfriend was actually looking for another Italian restaurant up 280, but when we arrived, it had turned into an «Asian Buffet», and he remembered Bellini’s, so we decided to try them out. We didn’t have a reservation, so we were limited to the bar/outside area, but there just happened to be high top table when we walked in, so we were in luck. Service was great. Food was served in a timely matter. I had the fettuccine alfredo with chicken. There was a generous amount of chicken… it was just a little rich for my liking. A nice place for date night! Reservations are probably recommended though.

Absolutely everything was perfect! I graduated from Samford University and went to Bellini’s to celebrate with my family and roommate. We all had great dishes from the barbeque chicken to the seafood paella. Wine was delicious and fairly priced. Pick from the specials because they are unique and will never be available again. Tons of parking, great décor, and a quiet, romantic atmosphere. Perfect for an anniversary. Also, there is jazz on the front patio every so often.
