Fried chicken was good. Everything else was good old wholesome classic american food. Friendly staff.

Food was ok… If you like starch after starch and carb upon carb. Eating family style was nice meeting another family who also had kids. The family we ate with had grandparents so ate slowly. Understandable. However our kids were finished first and when I asked Kristen(our server) if the kids could have dessert she said«I guess you don’t know how family style works. I wait till EVERYONE is done» I asked«we need to wait for everyone? But can the kids can just get there’s?» She gave me the biggest attitude and preceded to tell me she clears all at once and we had to wait. Suffice it to say, the next time we bring visitors we will NOT eat the shit at that restaurant

I inadvertently tried this place. I was not impressed. We had the menu dining since it was just two of us. Not variety to choose from. Selection of vegetables was very slim.

Always fun to do the family style meal, meet interesting people and good food with yummy dessert choices! We stayed at the adjoining hotel as well — very nice. This was last fall — forgot to post BUT last week we ate here with scout troop and food was great and staff terrific — thank you

A lot of food, overall decent and not bad value. We came as a group of five on a Saturday around 1, and we didn’t have to wait very long before being seated. The fried chicken was probably the best entrée, while the sausage and roast beef were decent too although nothing memorable. The sides were generally pretty forgettable, the butter noodles extremely watery, the vegetables bland, and the salad over-dressed. The pies were decent, and in general we were offered as much of whatever we wanted to eat, which was nice. Not a terrible option for a big meal in the area.

We have been here a couple of times for dinner. We had to wait 40 minutes for a table at 2:30 pm during the weekend as this place is busy. I always have the Build your own platter. You are given several choices for staters, entrees, and sides. The cost was $ 15 not including dessert and beverage. I chose fried chicken, sausage, egg noodles, chow chow, and shoe peg corn. The chow chow had a nice vinegar taste to it. The fried chicken is tasty, and moist. Shoo fly pie has a molasses and cinnamon crumbs on top. While I enjoy this pie, it might be an acquired taste for some people. The noodles have a nice buttery taste. The servers are friendly and do an excellent job.

This review isn’t for the food because we didn’t get past the hostess lady with an attitude. We just asked a question about the menu and she was rude and short with us, wasn’t even a line of people waiting. At that point, we just said we would find some other place to eat. If we can’t be greeted courteously then we don’t need to be there. There’s tons of other places in the area.

We ate here for lunch one day and for supper another while on vacation in Amish Country about two weeks ago. The food was very good. we did not have the Family Feast but we did see it being served to others and the food looked very good. The Turkey Club, Fried Chicken, Sausage Plate, Cole Slaw, Garden Salad, Apple Pie and Brownie Sunday were all very good. Our servers both days were very nice, friendly and attentive.

A fun experience eating family style with two other families with pre-school kids even though we were just a couple. Informal, easy atmosphere and everybody was friendly and kind. The food was good and there was plenty of it and lots of selections. A great place to bring large groups or families.

OMG, come here hungry. There were 11 of us in our group so we did the family style meal. The roast and chicken were wonderful and the veggies were super fresh. Service was great and dealt with our large group with ease. Highly recommended.

What a unique dining experience! You’re seated at a large table with multiple parties in a «family-style» atmosphere. Then plates of a fresh food start coming, and you pass the dishes around. Salad, vegetable medley, raisin bread with/icing(delicious), mashed potatoes, shoepeg corn, chicken pot pie, roast beef, fried chicken, egg noodles, and sausage. All of the dishes are made from local homegrown products. Then dessert consists of ice cream, shoofly pie(delicious), sour cream pie, chocolate cake and Apple pie. You’ll be more than full at the end.

Set up was like a local Cracker Barrel. The food was really tasty. Very good portions and huge selection.

This is a must-do if you’re visiting Lancaster. We came hungry and weren’t disappointed at all. The food was delicious and there was plenty of it! The fried chicken, buttered noodles and mashed potatoes were stand-outs! We had 15 people in our party and there was something for everyone. It was a perfect choice for a large group. Our server was wonderful — attentive and very nice. My 3-year old slept through the entire meal and woke up at the end and she was kind enough to pack me a little box of mashed potatoes and buttered noodles for him which he devoured. I would definitely recommend it for anyone visiting the area!

When«down home feel,» is referenced, they are certainly referring to this eatery. It’s a little more rustic«Cracker Barrel.» The food is amazing, and the Apple pie desserts are a must. The staff was attentive and courteous. I’m a fan!

I was not impressed at all, the food was average, a bit pricy, and you have to share a table and wait for the few selections they offer to come to you, our waitress was not very friendly ®, though a few other waitress’s at the other tables, seemed more then excited to be working there, and everyone at our table felt the same way, it was a one and done for me and my husband

Hostess and waitress were friendly. Short wait(10 minutes) on an August Sunday afternoon. Food was good. Sausage was the most flavorful. Chicken pie is really chicken and dumplings. I tried all 3 pies for dessert, just ask for a sliver of each. Gift shop tourist crap mostly made in China. Couldn’t resist a shirt with sign posts to Intercourse, blue Ball, Paradise, etc.

We chose to order from the menu, which was obviously a mistake. The food is very plain indeed. tasteless actually and not fresh. The chicken pot pie is actually chicken and dumplings. This was served to me barely warm. I bit into a dumpling… cold on the inside. My advice — stick with the fried chicken, corn fritters and chow chow(marinated vegetables). This place is like an institutional Cracker Barrel with a really weird odor when you walk in the door. We were touring this are on a Sunday and everything else was closed.

Definitely worth trying the family-style option. We met a great group of people at our table, and all the food was tasty(though some of it could have used a bit more salt, but you know, that’s what salt shakers are for). If you’re hungry, you’ll get at least close to your $ 20 worth, but it’s the experience, not the value. You’re paying $ 20 for the privilege of trying all the things(and you can get more than 1 dessert too). If you check in on Unilocal, you may or may not get a coupon for the family style option. YMMV.

That was the best fried chicken and sausage I’ve ever had! If you are just visiting Lancaster, be sure to choose the«Amish Farm Feast» option instead of ordering from the menu. The family-style tables are awesome, you can sample all the good food and you may even talk with people from all over the world. My table was an «International» table, there were local people, telling you about Amish culture, and people from Poland, Germany, France, Puerto Rico, England, and I’m from China. Too bad I don’t live in Lancaster, I want to go back there and have the fried chicken one more time.
