The TSA idiots decided that my suitcase looked suspicious, so the tore it apart and wiped it down to detect bomb residue. What they discovered? Clothing 3 CDs in jewel cases Toothbrush, comb and shaver. Small, empty ceramic salt and pepper shakers. Nothing illegal, noting explosive and nothing more dangerous than a triple-blade shaver. But clearly, Billings is a key target for terrorist attacks so it’s important to shake down all the sketchy-looking senior citizens.

They are great here, I fly all around the United States Mexico and Canada and my two favorite tsa check pints is here and Austin tx the staff friendly. They put up with a lot of people that talk down to them. People who don’t stop to think their people with a job to do and keep my butt from running into a building at 500 miles an hour

Some of the nicest TSA agents you’ll meet anywhere in the United States. Serious… good old Montana Folk who aren’t power hungry like you find at some of the larger airports. But goodness gracious ‘me oh my’ what a cluster LOL. They added a line for TSA Precheck folks like myself. It’s very nice! It’s completely underused and probably unnecessary for this market but I live here and am pre-qualified so I love it! Only one problem… even though the TSA Pre-Check line to the ID checkers is always open, the line to go through security is rarely open. Still, you get to bypass the regular line… if they notice you over there by yourself, standing, waiting, waiting, waiting. For whatever reason, this line gets ignored and if the regular line is not busy, I suggest you just get in that one. The lines are long a couple of times per day. There are a lot of 6am or so flights out of Billings so the line through security can be VERY long early in the morning. Forego sleep and get to the airport early. you can sleep on the plane. They’re not overly sophisticated or professional in their jobs. They just don’t examine as many bags as other airports that are a lot busier. It’s not their fault. But because of this, you’ll want to leave certain things ‘home’ so as to not warrant a ‘bag search’. Not that bag searches are bad… they just take forever here! I go through security here almost every week. Here are things that have caused a bag search. Scary, Scary things such as: Snickers Candy Bar, a Lint Roller, your Lap Top chargers, shoe horns, a baggie of paper clips, an oversized pen, an empty bottle of water, one of those hand-grippy exercise devices, my wallet(seriously… my wallet). As I stated, they’re very nice, just inexperienced… even though some I’ve seen working for the last decade. Go early, grab a beer or breakfast at the snack bar. It opens at 5am.
