Kiska’s by the Lake

Who’d’a thunk barbecue in the middle of nowhere, Montana? And who’d’a thunk GOOD barbecue in the middle of nowhere, Montana? We had the pulled pork sandwich and the brisket sandwich. Both were great. They have local beers on draught, as well as a semi-​full bar. Prices were reasonable for what you get, and the sauces are delicious. You can also buy the sauces. I don’t know when I’ll be back in Big Fork, but you can bet Kiska’s will be the first place I go eat.

The chicken is good in the chicken and waffles, the waffle was just meh. Kind of mushy with no condiments added. My daughter liked the burger, the sides we had were good too. I’d return. 3 stars for the waffle not being eaten which is half the meal. If they offered just the chicken it would be great but that waffle… no. I think next time I’ll go for a salad and see how that goes.

Stopped in yesterday with family. They hardly had any sides to go with the meal. He wouldn’t make any substitution for the side that was suppose to come with meal. There was not any coleslaw, baked beans or macroni and cheese. The pulled pork was greasy and hardly any on small bun. The fried okra was horribly greasy as was the fried pickles. Bad taste. Must have all been cooked in the same grease. We hardly ate our food. Worst place to eat ever. One cook & one waiter-​cashier. I don’t think he cared if our food tasted good or not.

Sooo good! Husband had the brisket, I had the chicken. Super moist and delicious. They make their own sauces! Do the garlic fries, yum!

Service was great, very friendly. Tasty food and inviting environment. Fast service that doesn’t feel at all like fast food. Highly recommend the Mac and cheese burger. Overall winning.

The «Chicken and Waffles» was a surprise! I’ve never thought of mixing the two together… really tasty. The servers are really friendly and funny. Good location… just park behind the restaurant.

If you like great southern style food without the grease this is the place

THE CORNBREAD!!! More like corn cake, & served with honey butter. Don’t eat here without it. Our server Conner was excellent & very attentive. Great service, great food, great choice.

We ate there October 28^th. The food and service was awsome. We had fried chicken, very juicy and tender, collard greens, French fries were
crispy and left to let you salt them. Our waitress said the gumbo was spicy hot but I thought it might only be 3 star. All the food was made from scratch. We would go back next time we are in town.

This was a great little find! We are on a road trip up to Glacier and came upon this little gem. Don’t try to take a motorhome down to it (ya won’t fit across the bridge), but a short walk down the hill & across the bridge is totally worth it. Drinks were fabulous– Montana Moscow & it’s bit of Montana love was delicious and the Flat Lake soda for the kiddo was fun. Don’t pass up the pork sliders and gumbo! Yum! Street tacos were good. Service was outstanding!

If I could give this place more stars I would. Nice small place. The food is delicious, clean, and extremely fast. If in the area YOU HAVE to stop by for some good olé BBQ.

Love the food here I have had my share of pulled pork and this place is on top of the list. The Mac and cheese is amazing you can add bacon or pulled pork just a lot of good stuff. The shrimp poboy was also great I would get extra sauce. Just a great place to get a fresh cooked meal everything is hand made and fantastic.

Man this place blew our mind! The legend burger and the chicken and waffles are crazy good!!! They did forget to put silverware in our to go order so don’t forget to ask but man the food was worth it!!!

My mother and I went for lunch on Thursday and loved it. Upon walking in we were greeted by the bartender that told us to sit wherever we wanted. We chose the patio, which for the end of July was quite tolerable. Then again I live in Houston, TX so I’m used to 105+ temps. Our waitress was really sweet and very attentive. I ordered a «Dark and Stormy» cocktail (yum), a protein overload monster of a burger with spicy BBQ (yum), and a side salad. I forget what it was called, maybe The Legend. My mother ordered a pulled pork sandwich with sweet potato fries and coleslaw. She said the pork was very tender, loved the sweet BBQ sauce, and the sweet potato fries were some of the best she’d ever had. The food was great, I’m impressed. Living in Houston, I’m used to over-​the-​top good food and I’ve been let down by some of these Montana restaurants so many times before but this place was anything but. What a wonderful discovery! Keep up the good work :)

Excellent spot in Bigfork! We just happen to pass this little place & thought we’d try it. We all agreed it was the best meal we’ve had so far on our vacation. Everything is made from scratch which makes it even more special. A must try!

What a worthwhile discovery!!!
My husband and I stopped in for lunch — and having not read or heard anything about this place, we were not to be disappointed! The service and the southern-​style food are all top-​notch. They serve great sandwiches and fries with obvious attention to not just flavor but detail. I can’t say enough good things about their sauces. Everything was well-​prepared! We can’t wait to go back to try the other tempting items on their menu!!!

Very good spot. Excellent pulled pork, burgers and chicken n waffles. And a nice reception for a large group with small kids. Recommended highly.

Great food, great service. We had the chicken and waffles and brisket sandwich. And ahi appetizer. And the huckleberry beer. All was amazing. A great find.

Fast friendly service, very reasonable price and excellent food. We had the hand dipped chicken (outstanding!!) and the shrimp poor boy (get the remoullade on the side so you can control the amount of spice you want). All the sides are great. Triple chocolate mousse for dessert (wow!!). They also have ginger beer! Its non alcoholic soda that i have not seen since we were in New Zealand and is very tasty. Highly recommend Kiska’s. Great addition to our Bigfork community
