My daughter and I had the opportunity to fish with Jeremy. My daughter had never fly fished before and I was a beginner. Jeremy was patient and a great teacher. He knew all the fishing spots. It was an exciting day. We will go again for our next lesson. We would use Bigfork Anglers Fly Shop again.

My wife and I had the opportunity to fish with Jason, the owner, last week in the Swan River.
Jason was very helpful from the start: He picked a timeframe with us and told us to call the day before to check out the river conditions and check our options. When we did, he explained our options and help us pick a river that fit our time constraints.
This was my wife’s first time fly fishing, and Jason did a great job teaching her how to cast, mend, and pull in fish. She got up to speed with his help in about 15 minutes and she immediately started pulling in 16″-18″ trout! We each pulled in several good size trout.
Jason was very helpful at giving both of us tips on how to improve our casts, good spots to float, and good form tips in general. Throughout the day he was helpful, professional, and very friendly.
We’ll definitely be back to fish again with Bigfork Anglers.

I did get a generic apology from the owner… so I bumped it up to 3 stars. Thank you owner for the form letter… My original rant of being a tourist with a pocketbook: No love here.
We be tourists and then ignored. Hey, tourists spend money too! We mentioned we were from out of town doing the tourist thing and the man got up from the counter and wandered over to a table of flies, tuned us out and did his own thing. It was odd.
With this, we did not feel the love nor spend a penny. Such a shame as numerous other fly shops I went to in Montana, I dropped twenty to a hundred dollars or more.

PS: I may not look much like a fisherwoman, but for those that know me, I was in the commercial fishing industry, had a boat and a seafood receiver. Fly Fishing new to me and simply love it!

Nice little fly shop down by the bridge with the usual setup of rods, reels, and flies for sale, but with a very enthusiastic and helpful staff more than willing to share their knowledge and give advice.

I have been visting Flathead lake every summer for the last 5 years. A prerequisite for my trip is scheduling at least one full day fishing with Jason and his guides. Safe to say we are hooked on fishing with them. They are excellent teachers who can take novices like me and put us on the fish. I highly recommend that beginners and experts alike book with Bigfork Anglers as you cannot find a better outfitter in Montana.

I have been visiting Bigfork Anglers since it opened, every experience has been positive — the shop has a great vibe. The entire staff is knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, easy going and respectful — to everyone.
I had the opportunity to fish the Flathead last February with Jason, amazingly he found fish rising to midges in a snowstorm, it was a hoot. One of my more memorable trips.
I look forward to fishing with Bigfork Anglers in the future.

I visited the Flathead area for a week in August and contacted Bigfork Anglers for a guided day trip down one of the local rivers. I could not have been more pleased with the ease of setting the trip up, and the quality of the guide. Cameron (the guide) was patient with me (I’m new to the sport), and we even hooked into a nice 17″ cuttie toward the end of the day.
Highly knowledgeable guides, friendly to newcomers, ease of contact and setting up the trip. I couldn’t have asked for more. The next time I’m in the Flathead area, I intend to look them up again.
