Moonlight Tavern

Food was good. Service was the worst! Bar tender was more interested in watching Mtv then service. Had to ask for more water and another glass of wine and the response was «when I can» mind you this was a Monday night and it was not busy.
Great location, great ambiance, amazing view.

Lovely Lodge and restaurant. However, the service here is very slow. First rule of a restaurant is to get beers to the table. However the first round took at least ten minutes. Second round they actually didn’t get correct and still took 15 mins.
Fish and chips were tasty, but small portions.
For a place trying to be high end and somewhat exclusive, this is a poor effort. Especially given the prices.

This place surprised me. It was very clean and even though the prices were a bit inflated, they weren’t all that bad for a ski resort. I paid $ 8 for a slice of pizza at Northstar in CA! Anyway I had the venison Shepards pie and it was huge and delicious! I was impressed at how tender the venison was. The service was good for us as was the local draft selection. Overall, I liked this place

Came out to Big Sky and had a wonderful vacation. We were looking forward to a great meal/​good night and were let down by Moonlight Tavern. We knew it was pricey, even by Big Sky standards, but the service was far from acceptable.
Food was good. Again, way too pricey but good. For what we paid, I expected to be blown away and it was a step above Ruby Tuesdays.
SERVICE was awful. Waitress was cute, friendly, but took forever on everything. Waited an average of twenty minutes on drinks and (no joke) it took us 50 minutes just to clear our checks. And a few of our orders were wrong.
Granted, we had 12 people there, but there was NO ONE in the place but us and it took close to three hours to have dinner. AND we made reservations, meaning the place shouldn’t have been caught off guard on a slow night.
Bottom line, not worth your money. The staff was friendly, but unorganized. We would have spent more money on drinks and food had the service been better because there’s no place else to go. SAVE your money. Stay in and cook yourself because this place wasn’t worth it and ruined our night.
