I was in this sweet shop this past Sunday and I was excited because of their variety of salt water taffy. My favorite flavor is cinnamon so I grabbed a handful of that flavor and some other flavors as well. The other flavors were excellent however the cinnamon taffy had a hint of cinnamon but mainly tasted like freshly-mowed grass. I’m not a fan of a freshly-mowed grass taste, not that I have that flavor often but I have tried wheat grass shots at a juicing place so I am unfortunately familiar with the taste. I tested two cinnamon pieces and I even had my boyfriend try one and all of the cinnamon taffy had that taste. It was a big disappointment!

Love the variety of candy offered at this store. Tons of taffy to choose from as well as old school kind that you don’t find most places. They also offer unique type of candy such as Bear Poo Chocolates and other play-on word type candy. My favorite would be their specialty chocolates. We ordered the dark chocolate honeycomb and peanut crunch bar. They offer most in dark or milk chocolate. The lady that helped us out was very sweet and humble also.

We loved this little candy shop. The woman working there(maybe the owner?) was so sweet… the selection was outstanding, the chocolate was delicious, and the personalized service was the best. Thanks!

Love love love salt water taffy! They have a huge array of flavors!!! The only downfall to this place is that they no longer have caramel apples. Other than that, make sure you check this spot out and enjoy some good candy! Cavities here I come!

Was very pricey. Got one medium and small bag of build your own candy, two soda pops, two small jelly bean bags, a small dinosaur and a pez toy. Came out to around $ 30. Was very shocked at how overpriced it is. Won’t come back, even though they have a wide variety of choices.

Amazing candy store. I would give it four stars but my wife and I went there two days in a row while in big bear and the ladies who work there are just so nice, I give them an extra star. Great selection of candy and other novelty items. They also have some really great gelato. It’s a fun store for kids of all ages. When you’re in Big Bear, this is a must stop – just look for the shop with the bubble machine and giant hand chairs out front.

Cute little store if you’re craving for sweets of all kinds! They literally have all kinds of sweets in this cute little store — from candy to chocolates to gum to taffy and gelato! The lady behind the counter was the sweetest.

Avoid this sad excuse for a shop if you’d like to be treated like a human being. My cousin walks in to look at candy, and while he’s standing in the middle of the shop, the two«women» working here(if you can call them women) started accusing him of stealing chocolate Neccos. They wouldn’t give him a break until he just walked out. I was with a group of 13 other people. Looks like none of us will be going back! We’ll be sure to pass along our bad experience to anyone that heads up here.

My husband and I spotted the display of gelato from the sidewalk. It looked so enticing that of course we had to check it out! The lady behind the counter was genuinely sweet and very friendly. We sampled a couple gelato flavors before making the tough decision of what to get. I settled on birthday cake and my husband got a mix of white raspberry and strawberries & chocolate. MOSTDELICIOUSGELATOEVER! We are so happy we stumbled upon the Village Sweet Shop.

Delish gelato. We tried the strawberry and it was the best I’ve had. The owner was very nice and explained a lot about the gelato and fat content(extremely low). Great taffy and super cute place. We will be back.

This is a must stop shop when you are in the village! We were walking by while window shopping were drawn in by the bubbles and the bright colored chairs outside. This place is so cute she looks like a real life candy land. I could of left with so many different kinds of candy, fudge, cute little souvineers, and sweets, but I had some self control all we got was a large gelato… the birthday cake flavor was great and we even sampled a few more flavors. We spent a good 20 minutes or so browsing the store and looking at eveything. They even have a refrigerator filled with old fashioned sodas! Many old fashioned candies too! The two people working were the owners and they were really friendly and engaged with the customers in the store. If you have a sweet tooth, you will be in heaven here! There are a few different candy stores in Big bear village, and this one is worth the stop!

We left with $ 20 in candy, but the details of the store is what makes this place great. The jelly bean mosaic wall and drink cooler were the first thing that made me. Well, smile like a kid in a candy store. My 10 year old was off with his $ 10 budget, selecting cry babies, war heads, dried bugs– you know. The normal boy stuff. My 4 year old was basically screaming, running from barrel to barrel. She was too excited to pick much for herself. She really liked the miniature and oversized candy stuff(tiny lolly pops, huge candy buttons). I have a sweet tooth, so I found some things from my childhood like nik-a-liks the wax soda bottle things, some big hunks and some weirdness: fish head suckers. 1 giant jawbreaker later we were out on budget with a car ride home full of sweetness. There is a penny entry way when you walk out, so don’t forget to look down! Another super cool detail. It should be said that they have sugar-free options and even some toys for those of you new age hippies/crossfit parents who might wander into a candy store only to be looking for things other than candy. It might be a good idea, on second thought. Both of the kids threw up on the drive down the mountain. Oh well, more candy for me!

Great selection of salt taffy, jelly beans, and all sorts of candy. Don’t have my 2 favorites though :(gummy frogs and gummy strawberries. Why? Gelato $ 3.57 — $ 5.50

I got some chocolate covered almond from here but was not wowed by the chocolate they used. I’m definitely spoiled by the Godiva and Lindt that my husband has got me used to. my husband was looking for a caramel apple and when we found them here i was so excited. They were $ 5 each i think and look amazing. They have tons of fun candy in stock and tons of taffy. They also had some gelato that looked delicious however I didn’t get to try it because I was so stuffed from lunch at Amangelas. Overall good place for sweets but walk around to North Pole to see their selection as well.

Big Bear Candy Company offers all of your sweet treats including candy, gelato, chocolates and fudge. The prices for the candy is $ 2.83 per ¼ lb. and $ 2.85 for sugar free candy. They have a wide selection of taffy, sour candy, chewy candy, and hard candy to choose from. In the back of the store is where they have all of the chocolate selection. They also offer a couple different types of caramel apples. Looking for something a little more interesting? They offer bacon toothpaste here for all you bacon lovers! Anyway, I’ve been coming here for years now whenever I’m up in this area. Definitely, check it out the next time your sweet tooth needs a little sugar.
