We loved our little cabin! We were in cabin 4 which is wheelchair accessible(didn’t request that) but it was fine. I loved that they included two wine glasses and two coffee mugs !! They even included a wine bottle opener. It was cozy, cute, and included a fireplace and heater. There is a ceiling fan and a big floor fan in case you get warm. This location is just a 10 minute walk from Pine Knot trail and 3 minute drive to the village. There is also a Mexican restaurant next door and a bar near by within walking distance. Also a 5 minute drive to castle rock trail. There were also bbqs and outdoor bench seating. 4 stars because the mattress was springy, firm and uncomfortable. Had a bad night sleep the first night but slept way better the 2nd. My bf slept okay. Not a deal breaker though ! Also, we had an iron but no ironing board. I’m sure they would provide us one if we asked, but luckily we didn’t need it. Would stay here again !!

Ok. They get 1 star because the people were nice, and the decorations in the room were cute. But the bad far outweighed the good. We stayed in room 5, queen suite with our kid. It had a futon for her to sleep on. 1– Queen mattress was extremely springy. I’ve stayed in some bad hotels but this felt like a box spring on top of a box spring. Resulted in about 2 hours of sleep for me and the wife, but whatever, I can deal. 2– The futon was lopsided, felt like it was going to collapse and sounded like it was anytime any movement was felt. The mattress was worn thin in the center. She felt uncomfortable and unsafe and every metal piece under her. She chose to sleep on the hard floor. I tried to complain when we left but nobody was there(it was after 9am when they should have been open). I’ll probably call tomorrow to see if they will offer a refund, but ultimately the quality of the room will never be outweighed by nice people.

I came here in September for a 3 day/2 night anniversary trip. We booked a king bedroom at Ember lodge and it was homey, cozy, clean, and comfortable. There was a king sized bed, kitchenette, and a bathroom with a shower(no bath). Our room was affordably priced and great value. We used the grill and fireplace everyday. They have logs you can use for the fire which was a plus and they didn’t charge us extra for it. I like that they aren’t penny pinching. The staff was friendly and we had a great time. I’d highly recommend Ember lodge!

Everyone knows by now that I leave long reviews. If you are looking for a short quick read, look elsewhere. Embers Lodge & Cabin was EVERYTHING our family was looking for. We stayed in Cabin 6 and when you climb up wooden front porch, you look out to an adorable lot of cute cabins and lodges, walk right into an all wood interior with a stone fireplace, spacious kitchen that accommodated 4 people, space was thought out carefully to allow flow and function. The second bedroom had the bunkbed that accommodated 2 and had its own heater and closet. Main room that was on a «raised floor» had a split wall that had 2 queens. The cabin had all the amenities that a modern«hotel» would have only, much more quaint(flat screen tv, ports for apple tv, wi-fi, modern stove, full size fridge, microwave, toaster, coffee machine…). I actually enjoyed hand washing everything while gazing out the window at the snow covered grounds… it was… romantic even with all the people in our party. Parking was ample for guests and as long as everyone sticks to the rules of the car clause, everything will be fine. Extended cabs might have a tougher time getting in and out but our LTZ did just great in the cute lot. LOVELOVELOVE the lamps on the property!!! The awesome iron replica’s really adds to historical feel of the property. If you are looking for the«home away from home» this is THE place. I’ve heard people saying«but you don’t have your own lot to play in…» to which I say, true but the tiny mounds of snow that built up on the patio(great for snowman building), and the ramp(great for a low grade slide with the sled), the trees surrounding(nice little nature feel)…I really didn’t miss all the outdoor space. I will say I felt«more at home» here than at a full size cabin rental… I love the historical feel of this place and the fact that Marcos Jr. & Marcos Sr. is leaving the«old feel» intact as they improve the once, dilapidated buildings all the while adding bit of modern conveniences… it makes THIS girls happy to know that Mr. Devine’s vision is kept intact. I hope they NEVER get rid of the«feel» of this place… THIS is now our home away from home for the family. Thank you Embers Lodge & Cabin!

Made my reservation at . Other reviews for this place were very positive. I had a late check in and my room key was where I was told it would be. Room is clean and cozy. However I see there is a 3 page list of rules and regulations. I see if you are in a cabin, you are expected to wash your own dishes. I guess the owners have never watched Hotel Impossible where Anthony Melchiorri states, «I’m on vacation, why do I need to do dishes.» Plus how do I know that the prior guest actually gave a $#&! enough to do a real thorough job. I probably wouldn’t. As much as I want to like this place, if a stay requires 4 pieces of paper, the owners don’t really want my business. I have stayed at hundreds of hotels with my career and I have no recollection of 4 pages of rules to review and sign. What do those hotel operators know that the Embers management doesn’t know, or better yet what do the Embers management know that every other hotelier doesn’t.

Lovely rooms. Excellent service. Close to The Village. There is so much to do in Big Bear but we didn’t want to leave our beautifully remodeled, cozy cabin-like room. Can’t beat the prices either. Marcos the owner was so welcoming. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. All around an excellent experience for an affordable price!

We stayed here the second week of April. It was perfectly situated near walk to restaurants and right next door to a yummy bakery! We came at a great time because the lakes opened up and the snow season ended, meaning less tourists. The hotel was was clean and so cozy! A nice fireplace to heat up the room, and lovely kitchenette and bathroom. Very quiet for us and well maintained with friendly service.

We are one of the first to stay here since the remodel. We stayed in one of the smaller rooms but got a tour of the whole place. Wow, every room was redone and the whole place looks brand new. It is really amazing how the woodwork came out inside. The furniture is wood and you get a feeling you are in a mountain cabin. It gives that rustic feel with a clean and modern spin. We loved it, much better than just a standard hotel but the rustic feel makes the experience more special. Parking was easy because the lodge is right off the highway. We went tubing which was just down the road — you could even walk. Couple restaurants in walking distance. If you are looking for a hotel in Big Bear this is a great place to stay and the prices are reasonable.
