This location taste different from other locations especially the signature lobster dish. And other dishes were very salty compare to the other locations. I recommend other locations over this one.

New Port has great and very flavorful seafood. The lobster is amazing as well as the shrimp dishes. We were here with a group of 10 people and the service was good. The Softshell Crab was excellent as well. This place is definately worth a try.

Lunch here was sad. Called ahead to see if reservation needed & came in middle of lunch period, but no one at hostess station, bar, or anywhere in ding room to give me a menu or seat me. I walked everywhere but inside the kitchen & bathrooms twice & was starting to call their number(since someone had answered 15 minutes before) when a waitress emerged & seemd puzzled as to what I might want. I had to ask her for a menu. I told her I wanted to try the XO sauce, which she’d told me on the phone you could get with anything. I asked her if the one chili pepper on the lunch mussels meant it was mildly spicy. She had no idea. I explained that sometimes 1 pepper means mildly spicy &3 or 4 very spicy, but this lunch menu did not have more than 1 pepper on anything. She hadn’t tried any of the dishes or been told anything. I asked if the lunch items came with anything & she said«no,» so I picked with that in mind. If I’d known they came with hot & sour soup & rice I would have ordered differently. Turned out that 1 chili pepper was very mild. The mussels in basil were bland. the mussels hadn’t picked up much flavor & the broth was not any better. The portion was large. some mussels were mushy. Not very appetizing with plain white rice only. And there was only one other seafood choice on the lunch menu(fish filet)! So lunch is not showing their skill or creativity with seafood. The music was also very sad:“Build Me Up Buttercup,” «Living on a Prayer,» and similar overplayed earworms too loud to ignore & too commonplace to be camp or nostalgic.

With a nice and beautiful setting, at an esteemed location, New Port Seafood(新港海鮮) at Beverly Hills was a much better restaurant in comparison to its brother stores in San Gabriel and Rowland Heights. Service was terrific and responsive. Changed your plates 4 times, refilled ice water numerous times. Foods were pricey though, but can’t complain: it’s on prime and expensive location. We 5 ordered: House Maine Lobster+ Yi Mein(新港龍蝦伊麵, $ 111.50); Clams with Black Bean Sauce(鼓椒大蜆, $ 16); Squid Basil Sauce(香草鮮魷, $ 15.50); Broccoli with dried fish(大地魚芥蘭, $ 19); House Seafood Soup(新港招牌海鮮湯, $ 16.50). Lobster & Yi Mein were excellent, very tasty. Clams were scrumptious. Soup? Yummy.

Authentic Chinese food right in the heart of Beverly Hills. The prices are a bit higher than other places, but trust me when I tell you that you won’t be disappointed. The quality is over the top and the serving sizes are quite large. We were here on a wedneday night, so there was no wait and we were seated right away. All 3 of the dishes that we ordered were delicious, especially the salted pepper crab. I enjoyed every bite of the crunchy crab shell /meat. The peppers and green onions on top also add a that extra flavor. This is a MUST order item if you like crab. The Egg Noodles were good too, but i would have thought it would be a larger serving size. The Green Beans were good, but a bit too salty. I enjoyed al of this with water and asked from some chili sauce on the side. Our waiter was a younger gentlemen. Attentive and friendly. No street parking in the evening as far as i could tell. Even the meters seemed to be off limits. I eneded up parking in their private lot for $ 5.50. Cash Only…

The Classiest Red Lobster Ive been too… or maybe just the most overpriced? Went to this place the other night with a large group, we took up about three round tables and ordered three orders of each, 6lb lobster for each table, fried rice, beef loc lac, fried tofu, kung pao chicken and chinese broccoli. I’m sure the kitchen was short staffed but literally each dish had about a 10 minute gap in between them when they were suppose to arrive all at once. No one even touched the chinese broccoli since it arrived last. The lobster was aright, nothing special… def not work 150+ each. But it was tasty and so was the beef. The kung pao was generic. It wasn’t bad. but it wasn’t great either. There was this tall loud bartender who literally took 20 minutes to make each drink… Then heres the kicker, They were closing at 930 so at 915, while some of us were still eating 10 minutes after the last dish arrived… they started taking our plates away so they could close. After spending that much(over 1k) you’d think that a restaurant would be a bit more accommodating. Nope. The loud massive bartender woman told us we had to leave since they were closing.

Being raised in the SGV and having been to both the San Gabriel and now the Beverly Hills location-I just had to write this review. Is it like the San Gabriel location? Yes and no. Yes, there are many similar basic items but there were some of my favorites that were missing, such as frog legs and steamed prawns. On the seafood size we were told because the tank is smaller here than in the San Gabriel location they have less items to offer. We got there at 5:30 for dinner and by this time they only had one fish left and of of course we had to have it. Service: This location has better service over the San Gabriel location. This location was not nearly as packed as the San Gabriel location. We had the largest party there and two other smaller parties were there. One server serviced us and she had two helpers who brought out food from the kitchen and refilled our waters. Our main server continuously helped us consolidate our entrees to make sure we had space for everything on our table. Below is a break down of what we had: Hot and sour soup(Vietnamese Style) This soup was served as an appetizer and our served was kind enough to serve us. We swapped out the fish for shrimp. This was a tasty dish but what would have made if better would have been has if been served hotter. This soup was served warm. House special Maine lobster Served and seasoned exactly like the San Gabriel location! Worth every penny! Filet mignon Meat was very tender and seasoning was great! Kung Pao Chicken Chicken and seasoning and was delicious! Beef Chow Fun Noodles were good in that they didn’t taste burnt like most places serve. Beef was a bit chewier than I like. Steamed fish The fish was huge and awesomely seasoned. All we left was the bones in the dish! Fish, sauce and garnish devoured! Calamari Loved the crunchiness and saltiness of this dish. Lots of more breading than your typical calamari dish. Shrimp with Candied Walnuts This dish served in a unique plate that looked like half a vase. One of my favorite dishes of the night. Less mayonnaise tasting than the San Gabriel location, which I prefer. Pea sprouts They ran out of water crest so this was our second choice. Simply served as a stir fry with garlic. It was decent, very homey tasting. Temperature All of the dishes were brought out to us promptly, however none of them were served hot. All of them were served warm. So I don’t know if it was temperature issue in the kitchen or if food was served warm to prevent us from burning ourselves. I would have preferred my food hot(temperature wise). Parking Self parking available for $ 5.50. Valet was not available at time of our arrival at 5:30 but they are available when we left. Parking structure exits right across from The Stinking Rose where there is middle lane for you to wait if you wish to turn left which is so handy! Would I come back? Yes, with people who have never been to the San Gabriel location or are picky about their food or don’t have the patience to wait for a table or who prefer high quality service.

This review is based on our last dining experience. We walked in 20 mins earlier than our reservation and the restaurant was half empty. Tons of table available. Then the small waitress with short brown hair tells us you’re way too early have a seat at the bar. We asked if we could be seated early since we were all there and since there were so many tables open. She seats us grudgingly and then slams tap water on our table. It tasted like oil(ew) so we asked for a bottle of sparkling water instead. Her whole service was done with a bad attitude. I like the food here but her service made the dining experience horrible.

Well folks, New Port Seafood has passed my test for it’s dinner dishes. We came here for lunch on X-mas day just about a month and a half ago, and we were delighted with its lunch menu. So on the day of Chinese New year’s eve 2016, we decided to Gon Hey Fat Choy with the year of monkey at New Port, and it surely did not disappoint! So what really puts this place over the top with 5 stars? New Port passed our NOGARLIC&NOONIONS test with flying colors… WOW in a Chinese SEAFOOD restaurant! We made a reservation for 5:30pm however, we couldn’t make it on time. Therefore I called and, Henry was kind enough to able to accommodate us on the patio. The patio ended up just DEVINE! On a beautiful 7 pm Sunday evening, patio seating was way better than the indoor tables(though it was a full house last night). So, we ordered the House seafood soup($ 14.95), Veggie Rolls($ 6.95), House Lobster 3.5 lbs($ 91), Broccoli with Oyster sauce($ 12.95), Yi Mein($ 12.95) and Pea Tips($ 16.95). For a party of 4, we had left overs! Though we were full, but we surely had room for dessert… LOL. We opted for the Chinese New Year special, the sweet dumpling in ginger soup. Boy, this was freshly handmade by the chef and it took over 30 minutes. It was worth the wait! So what stood out the most were the lobster(of course) and the dessert. To truly taste the freshness of the lobster, no garlic and onion is a very difficult way to cook it unless it’s ULTRA fresh. If a slightest trace of unfreshness(is this a word? ha), one will know it immediately. The lobster was fried with black pepper and a touch of chili and jalapeño(ummm bravo!!). The sweet dumpling were made fresh on the spot. It came with 3 peanut and 3 black sesame dumplings. These sweet dumplings were to die for. They were the BEST that I have ever tasted! On top of great food, the service was also top notch. Our server Freddie and Josie orchestrated the evening with perfection. Our food was out quickly and our water glass was filled without a hiccup. New Port clearly is one top notch Chinese seafood restaurant west of DTLA. Either Valet parking($ 7.50) or self parking($ 5.50), New Port can easily get you in and out the door with the best Chinese seafood outside of SGV!

*** 3.5 stars **** On a standalone basis I’d give New Port Seafood four stars, but when I compare it to the location in the SGV(lower prices, larger portions, and slightly better taste/quality), I have to knock it down half a star. This is a good choice if you don’t want to drive all the way out to SGV and wait(you can make reservations on opentable). We had a large group of 9 and sat indoors in the main room, which is mostly made up of large round tables with a lazy susan. I also noted that there’s a private room to the side of the restaurant which might be nice for a special occasion. I definitely recommend coming with a group and doing it family style so that you can get a lobster and some side dishes and share. The décor is modern for a Chinese restaurant, and about as upscale as you are going to find for a Chinese restaurant. FOOD: — House Special Maine Lobster w/Noodles — like the SGV location, this is the must get item here — the Chinese style preparation with scallions, chili and garlic is amazingly flavorful and delicious. So flavorful and delicious that I recommend asking for it to be served on top of noodles, so that those noodles can be seeped in that sauce. — Shrimp with Candied Walnut — standard, good. Not the best that I’ve had, but still good. — Crispy Tofu — Very lightly fried, this is definitely for tofu fans(don’t expect it to be so deeply fried that it doesn’t taste like tofu anymore). I’m a tofu fan, so I was a fan of this dish. — Salt & Pepper Squid — Fried in a similar style to the tofu, there isn’t so much batter that it’s all that you can taste. The way that it is prepared here allows you to enjoy the quality squid. — Fish Maw and Crab Meat Soup with Egg Whites — egg drop soup with a little something extra. This was nice to have on a cold day, but didn’t taste like much more than just egg drop soup to me. — Kung Pao Chicken — Made with quality chicken, but I would have liked it to be a bit spicier. Still good. — Pea Sprouts & Bok Choy — simply prepared, but perfectly prepared and delicious(for vegetables). — Steamed Rice — a huge tub was brought out for us, which we didn’t even make a dent in. All in all, we had a very nice dinner here and everything was good, but I still prefer the SGV location. Logistics: It is located between A Spice Affair and Lawry’s on restaurant row. Self park in the underground lot on the north side of the restaurant, which is a $ 5.50 flat rate at night(no validation required).

Came here for dinner. Absolutely loved the lobster and loc loc beef(I think that’s what it is called). Very unique and very very good. Wanted to try the crab but they were not serving any — it’s an excuse to go back! Everything else was solid but not amazing — Kung poa, low me in, pea shoots.

Authentic Asian lobster on restaurant row in Beverly Hills?! The food gods have answered my prayers! I am a fiend for crustaceans, and my appetite for those multi-legged sea creatures has fueled my endless quest to find the best lobster and crab in LA. I thought my quest had ended when I indulged in the house special lobster at New Port Tang Cang in Monterey Park. Being a Westsider, felt burdened with knowing delicious lobster would entail an arduous trip to the 626, a two hour wait for a table, and curt service. When I discovered this new location in Beverly Hills, that takes reservations, I thought it was too good to be true. But the food gods are kind, and blessed the westside with a Newport Seafood that delivers in authentic taste, but with the ambiance and service of a Beverly Hills restaurant. My favorite dishes are the house special lobster, shaken beef, tofu with spicy salt, and stir fried rice noodles. All the dishes capture the fragrant and savory flavors I fantasize about when thinking of Vietnamese/Chinese dishes. Do not come here and skip on the lobster or crab! It is their specialty, and they cook it like no other – Jonathan Gold would agree. Smothered with scallions, chili and garlic, it is an explosion of flavor that complements the subtle briny decadence of the lobster meat. I love that they take reservations and have a valet out front. It is so convenient. This would also be a great place to celebrate a special occasion, like a birthday, because they have large tables and private dining areas for large parties.

Been here only twice at this location but they’ve improved since they first opened. I paid $ 170 for just me and my gf and we ordered our usual: beef loc lac, pork bao(appetizer, they only give u two pieces), steamed rice, order of 5 lb lobster(perfect for two people), Green beans with minced pork and some hot tea. Not very crowded and valet was $ 7.50 or something like that. Food was flavorful this time around

Let’s start with ambience. It’s in Beverly Hills so I’m wondering if Geisha Chic is a good enough terminology haha. Clean and spacious which is usually the opposite of most asian restaurants. Let’s talk food. Went there with a Guilt Voucher with some cousins of mine so we got tons of food. Most of the food was okay… Until I the lobster came out. Holy Lobster! Cut into nice chunks but you still have to work for it. Tons of garlic and green onions which aren’t bad things. It took a unbutton and unzip of my pants but I finished that sucker. Definitely the star of the show.

Slave girl found this deal on Gilt for a 5 course meal at New Port Seafood in Beverly Hills for 4 people. We went with good friend Kanisha, her sister Shay and soon to be 3 year-old chick magnet Skylar on a weekend night. The parking was totally bs since it was either valet or charged with Beverly Hills rate. After circled around, we found free curb parking on Wilshire and the walk to the restaurant was within 5 min. Score! Now, this New Port, unlike its sister location in San Gabriel, was beautiful, clean, friendly with NO wait. They take reservations and they have a full bar serving all kind of drinks. The dress code was not restricted and the food tasted just like the sister location. The price of the food was a little higher(by like 2 – 4 bucks) but the benefits of going to this location was so worth it I don’t really care. Put this way, when I asked for a white pepper shaker, the shaker was not sticky and it had a clean smooth finishing feel on the outside. Ah, heaven. As I have mentioned before, the food was tasty and consistent like all their flagship restaurant, especially the lobster. I have been to all 3 New Port now and all the lobsters I got have lobster roes in the dish. Sautéed to perfection with bold seasoning, it is their signature dish for a reason. The service here was also hands down awesome. My water was never empty and throughout the meal we have been checked on often. At one point our chick magnet tossed his water cup… Oh sorry, I meant, accidentally let it go on the floor, with no look or anything, they cleaned the floor while flirting with our chick magnet, what a stud. New Port Seafood Beverly Hills, you had me at hello. I will never go to any other locations now. Thank you.

$ 7 valet! Me and the fambam were actually heading out to the New Port in SG, but then we turned around and came to this location instead because we weren’t feelin’ the PM traffic to the east side, lols. It was a risk, because there seems to be a stigma going around that the flavor here isn’t as great… WELL, guess what? Flavor’s not lacking here! Only things lacking were the huge lines and waiting forever for a seat :) This place was very calm and even a little sophisticated, there were maybe only a few occupied tables around dinner time on a week night, and the place was clean and had nice décor/ambience. Phew! We did not have to wait at all, whereas going to the SG location would have probably required waiting awhile(at least based on my last experience). Booyah! We got a huge lobster, beef loc lac(extremely tender and delicious), shrimp chao hor(classic esp if you love noodles like me), fried squid(average), and chinese broccoli – yeah my fam has a habit of over-ordering, and luckily we stopped ourselves from ordering more. I was still so full after, I felt like popping(basically a food hangover) – not a good thing but that’s because the food’s so darn good. The main dishes I listed above were fantastic and I was pretty overwhelmed stuffing my face with everything in front of me. The fried squid was maybe the only thing I found a bit meh – I’ll try the fried tofu next time. Great flavor and authentic despite it not being in a asian-dominated area so I was impressed. Washing everything down with hot tea was perfect. Service was nice, but could use some improvement. They should have placed more than just one plate on our big table for lobster shells, and be quicker with refills. But overall, I would def. return for the great food at reasonable prices.

Newport’s in Bev Hills ~ The hype that this SGV mainstay has ventured to the westside of LA was enough to send our group scootin’ over there for a celebratory dinner! Who wants to sit in hours of traffic when we can get ‘em to come to us? * DRK — Several vino, sake and cocktails choices * GET — Beef Loc Lac = every Unilocal review raved about this dish… we thought it was pretty good juicy meat with pepper-y sauce ** GET — Kung Pao Shrimp = great portions(they didn’t skimp on the plump shrimps) and that spicy Kung-Pao pow-wow sauce ** GET — Salt & Pepper Tofu = that popular salt-pepper seasoning went very well on these lightly-fried tofu«sticks» that reminded me of playin’ Jenga… * AOK — Crab Fried Rice = tiny crab meat dotted this fried rice dish, twas not bad * AOK — Chinese Broccoli = asked for oyster sauce on the side so our veganese friend could partake; it’s your standard steamed dish but we wanted healthy option * AOK — Veggie Ho Fun = pretty good with ample veggies * GET — Oong Choy = what the Chinese call«kong xin cai»…another healthy hot tasty dish * YES — Prompt and friendly service * YES — Decent portions for the pricing along Restaurant Row * YES — Clean lines, black/red Asian-inspired décor * YES — Semi-private room near back; outdoor patio seating available as well * YES — Stocked purple-lit bar near entrance * UMM — No joke, we were 1 of 3 dining parties on a weeknight… three! * WOA(words of advice): — $ 5.50 on-site self-park lot or very limited street meter parking — Reservations taken(but not necessary on the night we went, obvi) — Credit cards accepted — Expect Bev Hills pricing for Bev Hills rent, wasn’t a dealbreaker for us

Smaller portions and higher prices, but at least you can make a reservation at this Restaurant Row location in Beverly Hills. Plus there are cocktails. The prices shouldn’t be shocking. I mean why would they charge SGV prices when they’re in a premium zip code with hardly any competition for Chinese food? If you’re here, you’re probably here for their HOUSESPECIALMAINELOBSTER. This alone will set you back a lot. Sticker shock: I can’t stress enough to ask ahead of time what the«seasonal price» is. Forgot how many pounds we got for the five of us… maybe 4 – 5 pounds? Anyhow it was $ 117. At least it was good. We added a few more dishes. The PORKBELLYBAO appetizer comes with two, which we cut up to share. The others — SALT&PEPPERSQUID, PEASPROUTS and STIRFRIEDYIMEIN — are shareable, but yeah these are definitely Beverly Hills portions. We enjoyed the food but likely won’t be back. We can easily eat several meals in the SGV for the same price.

Came here at the recommendation of a friend who stands by the quality and service of the one in the valley. So, a big group of us came to check this new location in BH out. Big space that also has sort of a private-ish room/area. We decided go the share plate route. The stir fried ho fun, kung pao chicken, fried rice, and the salt and pepper pork chop were all tasty. Service was so-so despite it not being that crowded. Portions are on the smaller side if you’re sharing with a group. Plenty of lunch specials if you wanted to go solo on your entrée. Street parking as usual in this area on La Cienega.
