Wow I was really surprised and blown away with my lunchtime meal at McCormicks and Schmicks on Saturday. Being a foodie and having a certain bias against restaurant chains, I was not looking forward to lunching at this place with the Bf, he suggested we go there because the seared ahi tuna dish was his fav. I was being nice and«low maintenance» that day so I wouldn’t ensue drama or cause any tension. We made our way into the restaurant section and order, the service was really impeccable, our waiter was really polite and always attentive and got our drinks really fast. I needed that drink to survive a rainy day in Beverly Hills and to warm up my brain cells for the studying I was going to do later on. When we got our food I was really surprised with the intense flavors, clean presentation of the dish, and the fresh taste of the ingredients. We ordered: 1) Bone Marrow — really flavorful — full of earthy tones and umami nodes piled on with some radish, parsely, caper relish(something you would expect out of a french bistro) and some toasted baguette with some garlic. yum!!! 2) Branizno with Mediterranean Salad — Branzino is my favorite fish, plus the Bf cooked it for me on our second date, i hate to say this but the M&S was better than what he made. The fish was seared perfectly and had a nice crust on the bottom and lightly coated with lemon, olive olive, and this butter sauce which was out of this world. 3) Seared Ahi Tuna with Ponzu and Jalapeño — cant go wrong with this appetizer, clean fresh flavors, the ponzu sauce really made the flavors of the tuna shine. 4) Trout with roasted green beans — classic dish. Trout was seasoned perfectly and seared well, the flaky white fish was melt in your mouth good. Drinks: Definitely go for the Strawberry Basil Smash and the Kentucky Smash! Definitely we visit this place again on a quiet rainy saturday.

«One tequila, two tequila, three tequila, floor.» George Carlin Well, I’m definitely a one tequila kinda gal, two but only if I’m at home or someone else is designated driver and then there’s the calories kids… Always a sipper, I don’t believe the«good stuff» should be slammed that’s just me. My preference? Either Patron Silver or Sauza Tres Generaciones Plata. Arrived to use available light(my fave way to shoot) Deborah Butterfield’s «Storm Castle» bronze sculpture at 2 Rodeo prior to the Year Of The Horse Chinese New Year Celebration . With task complete and 45-minutes to show time, I decided to sip. Enter McCormick & Schmick’s. Well, I’m definitely not a bar kinda gal either but bellied up anyway. Gracious host directed me. Equally so barkeep took care of me. Impressed that she knew her regulars, set em up with libations, a smile, or as Billy Joel sang, «quick with a joke and a light of a smoke»(if it were allowed these days). Enjoyed the vibe and my chilled Patron Silver. Bookmarked to come back for the food!

The best thing about this place was the service. Really great service, waiters, hosts, etc. The food was OK, I got the Salmon which was lacking in terms of flavor. However my friend got the Chilean sea bass which was much better than my dish. Menu isn’t too diverse. I would recommend. Would give three stars for the food, but 4 for Beverly hills atmosphere and 4.5 for service

This place is mediocre. I have gone multiple times with friends and my boyfriend for Happy Hour. The waiters/waitresses are very mono-toned and not inviting. They seem to try get us in and out and with a restaurant like this, I’d think they’d want to make us feel welcomed and not rush us. I don’t know, maybe they were having a bad day. every time we were there. and it’s unfortunate because their food is okay. Happy Hour prices are great though! They are so good, I keep going back even though service isn’t up to par. That means something, right? Try, but if you don’t find the time. don’t feel bad.

Very disappointed in the service. I ordered the short ribs. The waitress asked how wanted the ribs prepared, I asked for«medium». After waiting what seemed like an eternity, the food came warm(not hot) and the short ribs were over-cooked. Manager came to the table and blew it off like it was no big deal. She didn’t offer to rectify the situation. Ended up giving over half of my meal to my b/f, and left hungry. We dine in fine restaurants regularly, and I know the type of service we should have received. Management should’ve offered something in return of their error. I would hope we weren’t treated indifferent due to our race, and the thought was, «Oh, well!!»

My girlfriend and I came to this place due to getting some free gift cards. So we might as well go to the Beverly Hills location and treat ourselves, right? Our server Justin was very courteous and professional, the food was outstanding, and the atmosphere was very relaxed and romantic in my opinion. Would definitely come back here if I’m in the neighborhood again for a date! Btw I got the filet mignon and it was to die for. Simply amazing!

Table was not ready when we arrived(on time). Were advised to wait at the bar. –Bartender was rude(he was seething and swearing under his breath to another employee about something) –We were seated 10 minutes later. –Silverware was filthy(a spoon had a large amount of chocolate on it). and glasses dirty; waiter was apologetic. –Ordered fish and chips and Chilean Sea Bass. Waiter came back 15 – 20 min later to say they were out of fish and chips. He brought back the menu. –Waiter didn’t return for 15 – 20 additional minutes to retake our order(or ask if I wanted another drink/questions). We were about to leave(and should have). –Food tasted okay, but made my GF and I sick 1 hr after we got home. Bread pudding? VERY disappointed!

To be honest we decided to eat at this restaurant because the one across the way was very crowded… but it looked a lot more popular… in retrospect I think the wait would have been worth it. Regardless, this was my first time eating at McCormick & Schmick’s. I decided to choose a healthy dining option and ordered my favorite salad– tuna nicoise. It was around($ 15) and presented in an artistic fashion. The ahi wasn’t the freshest, nor was it too old… it was«ok». Comparing this to the tuna nicoise at Tender Greens, I“d have to go with Tender Greens for the value($ 12), freshness, and convenience. The make their burgers well here, even the bun tasted freshly baked and not stored in a giant plastic bag.

We made reservations here for Christmas dinner with two friends visiting from New York. We got all dressed up for our special dinner, searched high and low for parking on Rodeo and once we arrived(15 minutes early) we were told that they had a limited menu. We were all OK with that and so we told them that we didn’t mind. Then we were told that there was some miscommunication between the managers and that actually they weren’t going to honor our reservation. They were closing for the night. What?! We were left feeling very«Mary and Joseph» running around from restaurant to restaurant asking if anyone could take us in. McCormick & «Schmuck», this could have been handled SO much better. A simple call or email would have sufficed! Get it together!

Pacific or fresh water? My trip has landed me here. Time to get caught up on my Los Angeles experience. Business has taken me everywhere. I have eaten in some very nice restaurants. I loved this restaurant just because I got a very nice warm reception here. Not just because it’s so cold and snowy in Michigan, but I just had great feeling about this place. I had the 12 oz Wagyu Ribeye Cap Ancho Rubbed, Clover Honey Butter. Yes, a steak in a seafood restaurant! If you read any of my reviews you’ll see I’m a steak and not seafood. This was a very well prepared(medium) choice steak. It was perfectly marbelled and melted in my mouth. It was so tender I could have used a butter knife to cut. I had the Garlic Parmesan Fries to complement the steak. These were some of the best fries I ever had ever eaten. Note: Try the Lake Perch in the Troy, MI restaurant.

I know this place is called McCormick & Schmick’s — A Pacific Seafood Grill. Yes, with SEAFOOD in the name. I don’t eat seafood though, so I had to opt for the chicken when I was invited here for a luncheon. I repeat, I know this is a seafood restaurant, but that’s no excuse for not being able to get a piece of damn chicken cooked right! It was soooo dry and the sauce it came with wasn’t even enough to make it slightly better. The Bibb Lettuce salad was pretty decent. The salmon smelled really fishy as the servers walked by with it. I forgot what I had for dessert which means it wasn’t memorable. The server for our table was bleh. We had to ask for a drink rather than being asked what we would like. He never came by for a refill and just was all around a very unhappy individual.

Your 9−10p happy hour was like a beacon of light in darkness to my friends and I! The prices were definitely right. And the M&S tea(I think that’s what it’s called) and mojito are among the best I’ve ever tasted(was the bartender just that good??). But, your menu doesn’t offer much for my gluten/cow’s dairy/soy-free diet. My friends were very happy, though. The cheeseburger and grilled cheese sandwich, both served with fries, are a steal! Highly recommended for those that don’t have similar dietary restrictions.

The location was beautiful. We sat outside for some entertaining people watching. The service was good, water cups refilled before emptied. Wine special and sangria were both great. In spite of gluten allergies, I was able to enjoy items straight off the menu, without having to compromise taste. This is not a trendy restaurant using unexpected food combinations or preparations, but sometimes, simplicity is the best way to let fresh ingredients shine!

Yay! Great experience although not perfect. Nice restaurant in Beverly Hills on the famous Rodeo Drive. The restaurant location isn’t obvious from the street and it is located in the little mall area. You need to come in via Dayton way to park in the garage via valet or self parking. Our large group enjoyed the location and ambience of this fine restaurant. The place was relatively empty for a Saturday night but no matter since nice venue, nice ambience, great food works. One problem was our service was for some reason very slow… didn’t really make sense since there were few patrons, yet it took forever to get drinks orders filled, etc. This was a common complaint amongst our group of 13. But the food made up for slow service. Items at our table include prime steak, maui maui, sea bass, fresh live maine lobster, seafood chowder(delicious!), beet salad(great!), etc. Tip: use Costco discount cards. It is worth it! Pay $ 80 for $ 100 food/drink items.

I’m a huge fan of seafood, and it was my birthday lunch, so I really wanted something delicious for lunch:) McCormick’s was DEFINITELY the right choice. We sat outside on their cute patio. The service was great – our waiter was so friendly, constantly refilling drinks and making sure that our food and dining experience was excellent. Their bread was warm and fluffy(yum!). I ordered a sandwich with a salmon filet, sprouts, and a few other toppings. It was extremely fresh, flavorful, and light, while also satisfying. Other members of our party ordered a salmon salad, steak, burger, and two of their fish specialites. Everybodys food was top-notch. For dessert, we tried the bread pudding and the tropical cheesecake. What a show! Both so flavorful and truly original. they were these unique twists on typical desserts. Overall, the food was delicious, staff was beyond kind, and the location was prime.

I joined my husband and my son here on May 22 after the chocolate tasting at Vosges few weeks ago. They came here after dropping me off, and have ordered a bunch of stuff before I got here. I was really looking forward to having a great meal, so I went up there in a dash. I said hello and smiled to the host/waiter guy as I was passing the«podium» where he stood, he didn’t smile but remained motionless, was he trained to be a sentry? Whatever, I wasn’t bothered cause I just had champagne. I sat down ready to order, but my hub was eager to leave for some reason. What? Why in such a hurry? Ok, I don’t have to eat that! I had chocolate anyway. So he paid and we left. As we were going down the ramp about to across Rodeo Drive, we heard a guy’s voice behind us talking… WTH?! Where DID you come from? He nearly freaked me out! Because it was dark already you know. Remember that scene in Mars Attack when this Martian sneaking up behind Martin Short and scarfing down on him when he thought he was about to have some good time? That’s what was flashing in my head at the moment. My hub thought we have left some valuables behind, but no, the guy was asking us why he got 10% tip. My hub looked at him for a min and then just kept on going, hmmm, some wasn’t right, because I know he always over tip. It turned out that the service was very poor, the host/waiter guy was frosty with a major attitude. It was Wednesday night, there were hardly any customers in the patio area, yet they sat down for more than 20 mins before the waiter came by to the table. After that, my hub couldn’t find anyone to turn on the heating lamp. The food was ok, but he detested the shoddy service and small portions they received. I was left aghast as I watched this young guy segued away unabashedly back to his lofty establishment. Since when a server would charge down the ramp when the tip isn’t 15%, but was perfectly ok when the customer didn’t get the attention they deserved? This is suppose to be a top notch restaurant, no? At least that’s what we thought so, being Zagat rated and all…

Service was 1 Star. It was waitress who was either new or just had memory problems. Either way we did not get anything properly, and or in time. Constant reminders. No comps for mess ups. The food was great!!! 4.5 stars. . Average 3 Stars!

They had a free meal for veterans for Veteran’s Day so my BF got a couple of the people from his club to go. They didn’t do the meal on Veteran’s Day but the Sunday after. I’m assuming it was because they didn’t want the guests the option of ordering off the Happy Hour menu. There were was a decent selection for the Veterans. My bf got the Tilapia and the others in our party ordered steak medallions. I didn’t feel like paying $ 30+ for an actual entrée, especially since there were pretty much no good Unilocal reviews that didn’t involve Happy Hour so I ordered the beet salad. The waiter came back 5 min later and told me that they were out of beets. I decided to get the heirloom tomato salad instead. The rest of the table got their entrees before me which kinda confused me seeing how the salad I ended up getting was really just slices of tomatoes and cucumbers layered on top of each other. It was good but way, way overpriced at $ 9. The Veterans all enjoyed their meals which is all that really mattered since it was for them so it was all good. We’ll most likely be back cuz the guys were pretty excited when I told them about the $ 3 burger during happy hour but I would go somewhere else for a nice dinner.

LIMITEDHAPPYHOUR mon-fri from 4 – 6:30 pm and 9−10pm in the outdated bar area! didn’t expect this place to look so DIVE BAR-ish & be so quiet when it’s smack dab in rodeo drive! the bartender VIC was great! but he definitely needs more help b/c the other workers never knew who to deliver food to or anything! & why do they need to print you a new receipt every time you order something new… DRINKS: Beverly Hills specialty cocktails were supposed to be $ 6 but they charged us full price so we had to get that taken care of! —my mint julep was good but pretty sweet BARFOOD: —cheeseburger. THATHUGETHINGISONLY3BUCKS and comes with fries! it tastes like you bbq’d it at a beach bonfire —oyster shooters: never had shooters before! i liked it w/the cocktail sauce! —parmesan garlic fries: were lacking in garlic & parmesan! —spinach and crap dip: TINY w/only like 4 over toasted pita chips to dip! the food is pretty mediocre. but if you’re just looking to get FULL then they have some of the CHEAPESTHH food around! PARKING: street meters or $ 4 parking in the structure after validation!

Yummerz on the shrimp cocktail! One order comes with 4 pieces of HUGE jumbo shrimps with tastey cocktail sauce and lemon halves. I had the smoked salmon panini sandwich. and yup, it was good. Not like, .OMGTHISISSOOOOOGOOD!!! …but more like… mmMmm. this is good. =) They had the thick fries, which i love .and the outside patio is a cute date spot. It’s right across Tiffany’s. so Men,. you can buy your girl a ring right after dinner! How convinent. Next time, I want to try the seafood platter. which looked like a three tier seafood extravaganza and very fun to eat. Happy hour isn’t bad either!

Dining in Beverly Hills is mostly good, but dining in Beverly Hills around Christmas time is great because you get to partake of the elaborate and festive decorations. As we walked toward McCormick and Schmick’s, we passed a tall decorative tree that’s so mesmerizing that you have to stop to take a closer look. Though it was cold that night, there were many diners that opted to dine outside, to be closer to the Christmas tree and the many other festive decorations. Be that as it may, we went inside to dine, as I’m not a fan of eating in cold weather. Being that this was my first time in this restaurant, I was quite impressed. As we were guided to our table, I noticed the décor, which isn’t overmuch but nicely accented. Our booth was mirrored and we were able to see views outside the tall windows from afar. Speaking of views, you can’t help but see the large menu, given to you, in this restaurant. If you’re a fan of seafood, this is a restaurant that will satisfy your liking. Though we didn’t get any seafood, our food was very good. I ordered the Wagyu Beef Volcano Short Rib, which is braised in Red Wine, Veal Stock and Herbs. The meat was so tender that there wasn’t a need for a knife. We ordered sides of macaroni and cheese, asparagus, and roasted potatoes, but those potatoes were covered with barbecue sauce which is unusual. As for dessert, bread pudding was the«curtain call». This bread pudding was drizzled with raspberry sauce and was rather delicious. Overall, this was an enjoyable dining experience at McCormick and Schmick’s. The staff was friendly, restaurant was very clean, and the location is convenient and most impressive. I would suggest going here at night, during the holiday season, to see the well-lit Christmas tree and other decorations for a full effect.
