Could Tre Scalini be the best Italian restaurant in the Lehigh Valley? I think so. It is comparable to the best in Philadelphia or New York. I don’t know how I missed it before. We had a variety of delicious dishes with the wild boar over pasta superb. The bonus for me it’s a BYOB.

Tre Scalini is probably among my three favorite restaurants – have tried the better part of the menu, and give accolades to almost anything I’ve eaten here. Highly recommend the veal tortelloni or lobster ravioli if they have it on special, but I’m beyond enthusiastic with the Pappardelle Con Funghi or the Capellini Bella Italia these days, as well. What stands out at Tre Scalini, as other reviewers have noted, is the freshness of the ingredients – that includes everything from the arugula on a salad, to the pasta in each dish that’s clearly made with incredible care, to the seafood, which has never been anything short of tasting like it came out of the sea about an hour before dinner service. I probably only frequent this restaurant about four times per year with my fiancé, but I can assure you, I sometimes dream of eating here every night. Even better, this is a BYOB, which does help save just a few bucks. The atmosphere is cozy, romantic(to say the least) and it can get just a bit loud if it’s a crowded night – I dig that vibe, though perhaps others may not. Service has always been impeccable, timely and extremely professional. It’s a small restaurant – perhaps only 12 – 13 tables – which is why many who I recommend this place to haven’t heard of it. I’m more than happy to spread the word, though, as I don’t think there’s any restaurant in the Lehigh Valley that boasts a menu quite like this one. Always look forward to my next trip here.

Delicious! They make their own pasta and you can taste the freshness. I got the Linguine Tarrantina and it was pretty amazing. The muscles were plump and the pasta was cook perfectly. My boyfriend got seafood manicotti and he loved it. We were really impressed by this place and surprised to find such a high quality Italian restaurant right in our neighborhood. Highly recommend.

Been back many times now. Many times. Tried everything on the menu and continue to be impressed. Tonight, I went crazy and had the halibut special and ate every last bite. Light, perfectly cooked and served over spinach, it had the most delicate sauce, juices really, that set it off perfectly. We’ve come to know most of the staff including. Anna and Santo which makes it extra special. Everything in my first review still applies. Come by during the week and enjoy and outstanding Italian meal.

If you’re looking for amazing and authentic Italian food in the Valley, this is the ONLY place that should be on your list! I lived in Italy for 5 months and since being back, I’ve been hesitant to eat out at Italian restaurants, but this place is everything and more. The Fettucine al Limone was so light and delicious. I came here with my parents and each of us ordered something different. I loved the way that each dish was delicate and had a unique flavor of its own. The portions were perfect – enough to savor the dish without feeling grossly full at the end! The bread they served with our dinner was perfect as well, and dessert was to die for! I had some kind of chocolate mousse creation and I never wanted it to end. The atmosphere at Tre Scalini is really lovely and intimate. You are essentially dining in someone’s living room and the service is wonderful and friendly. The owner is the chef and his two daughters work as the waitresses, so it really feels like you’re stepping into someone’s home. I can tell that there is a lot of love and pride that goes into preparing and serving the food, which is really what makes this place so special – I can’t say enough about Tre Scalini!

INot sure how I have not known of the best Italian restaurant in the Lehigh Valley but I’ve finally found it. Tre Scalin has it all but a liquor license. Yes, BYOB! So bring you favorite bottle and enjoy. Service was great, intimate dining room, food out of this world. Pasta perfectly cooked, angel hair with scallops, shrimp and crab meat in a tomato cream sauce, not swimming, just right. I had the rib eye, perfectly cooked w shoots and a cream sauce to die for. Dessert was lemoncello Gelato. Very good but the only option that night. You have to look hard to find it, no sign. This place doesn’t advertise, word of mouth only. This is your Word of Mouth! Go here its great!

Place is cute, small and the menu sounds delicious. Prices are way higher than the $$ listing that Unilocal gives it. I have to admit the food is tasty. Everything is fleshly made. Portions are half the size the price demands though. Entrees took over an hour before they were brought out. Honestly I contemplated leaving several times. I won’t come back and wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone unless your don’t mind waiting an extended period of time, paying overly inflated prices for small portions and remember BYOB. All that being said, the food is very good but the wait is overly long, two tables received their food before our table and they were seated after us.

A nice place for a intimate setting, a little small. The food is good but limited, their specials seem to never change. Quality great and local.

Was looking forward to it based on great reviews, but it let me down. What didn’t I like? FIrst, the place is small which is fine but very very loud, difficult to hold a conversation. It was somewhat pricey, not deserving of the Unilocal2 $$ symbol as billed. Bill for 4 at this BYOB establishment was over 160 with tip. Service was slow, it took over an hour for our entrees to arrive. Between that and the noise level I wanted to get out of there. My 22 dollar pasta entrée was teasingly small, about 4 mouthfuls. Overall dissapointed

Tre Scalini translates to «3 steps». Who knew 3 steps led to foodie heaven? Cute, intimate restaurant that has an outstanding menu full of flavor… and pasta! The blend of flavors and the quality of ingredients is outstanding. Stopped here on a weekday and the place was pretty empty, making the experience that much better. The service is impeccable, the waitress knew everything on the menu without reading off anything. She made helpful suggestions and enticed us to try the favs which we weren’t disappointed in. Grab a bottle of wine, a date and head here… it’s the best Italian restaurant in the area. Parking located in the back.

Best Italian food in the Valley. We’ve been at Tre Scalini so many times, we know the menu by heart. The porcini mushroom ravioli are our favorite.

One of my favorite restaurants. The chef… fantastic. The servers are truly wonderful. It is a quiet upscale italian restaurant. BYOB, so it makes it more affordable. If you like octopus, I recommend it. The seafood pasta is perfect. Great place for a quiet business dinner, or a nice date. Small, family-like run restaurant.

AMAZing BYOB italian restaurant. I had the grilled ocotpus which was the best I have ever had. It was moist and not rubbery when you over cook it. The grilled haddock on spinich was lite and delicous. It was simply seasoned with olive oil and salt. Perfect and simple.

First time at this establishment It was a family affair and the ambiance, food, and service was exceptional. This may be the best Italian food outside of little Italy NY. BYOB adds to the exquisite style. Bring your reds

My wife and I had an anniversary dinner here earlier in the week. Small, well decorated restaurant with very friendly and warm service staff. I had the homemade pasta with Bolognese sauce– probably the best I’ve ever had. Highly recommended.

One of the best meals I’ve had. Intimate settings and great wait staff, BYOB of wine so that you can enjoy your delicious meal. This review from me is from my visit we had a couple years ago. As you can tell is has a lasting impression. Try the smoked octopus for an app.

Wow! This place is top-notch! The food is authentic, the service is wonderful, and it is BYOB. It is perfect for a romantic night with your hubby or for an intimate gathering with some close friends. We love it here and we will definitely be back soon!

I love this place. Sometimes I go into NYC for an event and come back here to eat rather than dining in the city: Chef Santo’s food is that good. The simple arugula salad with shaved parm, a mozzarella Napoleone; the delicious arrays of pasta(Gorgonzola-walnut purses with Gorgonzola cream sauce, mushroom ravioli); fresh fish specials are always superb(snapper with broccoli rabe and outrageously good scallop and shrimp cannelloni) … the list goes on so you better just come in and taste for yourself. And did I mention … he does REAL osso bucco. His staff is always very cordial and competent. As a final note — the plates and glasses are an art unto themselves!
