Quick friendly service even on a busy Sunday morning! Hands down the best tuna salad I’ve ever had!(I eat A LOT of tuna salad) I couldn’t put my bagel sandwich down! I will be going back ASAP

The worst bagels in Pa. If u like a giant bagle with no flavor then come to this place. If u want a bagel with flavor u should try 3 men and a bagel located next to WaWa off of stoke park rd. In Bethlehem

Decent place for an omelette. Also, it was the only place open for breakfast in the area(except the Hotel Bethlehem). Only here once. Nothing else to say.

This place is quite the experience if you want FRESH, homemade food! The bagels and homemade cream cheese are the best in the Lehigh Valley. The homefries are to die for and the baked goods couldn’t get any better than here. The prices are great and the service is quick and personable. This is a must try for anyone who hasn’t, however be careful as you’ll get hooked fast like we did!

I picked up some food earlier because I just had surgery and I need to stay home. The people were exceptionally nice and made the stuff fresh for me to package. The prices were extremely reasonable too. I am very pleased.

I miss the owner. I assume he is at another location. He was always kind, funny and offered up service with a smile. While the food remains the same the service is spotty at best and downright disrespectful at worst. I have been a regular for close to ten years but will find a new place to frequent.

Great place. The only thing to be wary of are the home fries on their website they say they are cooked in Olive oil. In the Allentown location they are cooked in butter. If you’re like me and you don’t do to well with butter, make sure that you ask, ask, ask! Because the website lies or the cooks don’t follow it.

Johnny’s bagels is another gem of B-town. The sandwiches are always made fresh and are delicious! There is also an assortment of baked goods next to the register to satisfy any sweet tooth you may have along. The restaurant its self is ‘hipster’ and cool. There are 2 big bright red couches to the right of the entrance when you walk in where you will frequently find people chatting, drinking coffee or working on their computer. If you are lucky enough to visit this establishment when the hot cider is in season, go for it because you won’t regret it!

I’ve been here a few times now and 2 weeks ago I went here and the same night around midnight I started vomiting until 4am. I had their Tuna Melt with Lettuce and my thought is that it was either the tuna or lettuce. I can’t say for sure that it was them that got me sick because I know there is the flu virus going around but based off the fact that I’ve gotten a flu vaccine every year and never gotten the flu, my guess was that it was the tuna melt from Johnny’s.

Great food and nice calm atmosphere with pleasant employees. I went in around lunch looking for a hot sandwich since it was freezing outside. Walked in and the place smelled fantastic, like bagels and bread. After finding what I wanted on the menu, a steak and cheese with everything on it, I ordered/paid and took a seat. They brought the food to me at the table. One of the best cheese steaks I’ve had. It was fantastic. The bread it was served on was incredible. I told them how great it was and they gifted me with a bag of bagels. The bagels were made the day before, but were just as fresh as they could be. Brought them home and everyone in the house enjoyed them. I will gladly go back for breakfast or lunch again!

Not a review of the bagels. I read«Gyro» on the window, and decided to give that a shot for lunch. So, this is more from the deli offering. I’ve not tried the bagels. For about $ 17, I walked away with a mediocre gyro, offensive onion rings, and a bottle of Diet Coke. I gather that they’re tuned for speed — and perhaps they were panicking as the line was moving very slowly when I arrived. Once my order was in, though, the food arrived within about 5 min. Gyro had the roast lamb from the spit, and ample feta. Way too much lettuce, though — it made a mess and was distracting. Also, the tomatoes and onions were unevenly distributed. Felt like it was thrown together. For the price, I expected a bit more. The onion rings are $ 5. That sets a certain expectation. However, even at $ 1.00, these were embarrassing. Hard and crusty. Fused together. Vacant of onions, in some cases. My guess is they sat in a fry basket a while, and had to be chiseled out. Even if they were excellent quality, the quantity was on the small side. What is offensive is that they served them. It would have been far better for them to ‘fess up and say — «Hey, we don’t have any fresh rings right now(because they’re overpriced and no one orders them … or the word is out and no interest), perhaps you’d prefer some fresh french fries or a bag of chips.» A much happier customer — even if that piqued appetite for o-rings goes un-satiated. Or, they’re pioneering a new type of ring, and I’m just not their targeted customer. Has a college-town, hang-out, feel. Cool chalkboard menus with doodles and catchy sandwich names. The menu for sandwiches is large — easily about 20 different ones. Lots of baked goods sourced from various bakeries. And, a feel consistent with the older architecture. For my experience, I’d say there’s focus on the sizzle, but they skimped on the steak. Maybe Johnny should stick to the bagel offering and drop the deli part — focus on strengths.

Amazed at the negative reviews here. Glad some people know what they are talking about when you talk bagels. I have been going to Long Island and Staten Island for bagels my whole life. These are not far off. Big and crusty with a chewy, doughy interior. By the way Kevin, if you order a bagel toasted and the cream cheese melts, that is normal because it is not made out of chemicals that don’t melt. The hint«cheese» in cream cheese should be a clue. As for the service, I would say they are quick and to the point. They aren’t there to strike up conversation, just make you a bang up bagel sandwich! Great sandwiches, pricing is on par, service is fast and bagels are the best I have had in PA.

Back in my college days at Moravian, Johnny’s was a staple. It’s been years since I stopped in but I was hungry and decided to give it a try. I stopped in around 12:30 on a Wednesday. I was a bit surprised it was dead for the usual lunch rush time. There was a couple sitting outside and just me. I ordered the Herby Turkey on a sesame bagel. The man taking my other was rather grumpy and wouldn’t move to the side so I could see the bagel options, so sesame sounded like a normal choice. My sandwich was good but had way to much of the spread they use, it was oozing out the sides. Also very pricey for a sandwich and iced tea I paid almost $ 11! I could have gone to Brew Works for that price!

My family and I have frequented Johnny’s Bagels and Deli for years. Their bagels are always fresh and their specialty cream cheeses are to die for(personal favorite – garlic and herb). They have a wide selection of bagels, omelettes, sandwiches, burgers, gyros, soups, coffee, specialty drinks – you name it, this deli has it. The Main St. Bethlehem location may be a little overwhelming for first-timers but don’t let the small-ish, semi-cramped counter area intimidate you; you’ll miss out on fantastic bagels. Johnny’s recently opened another location in Downtown Allentown and I go there almost every week. I’ve never had a bad experience at Johnny’s; the staff is friendly although sometimes during the breakfast and lunch rush they may be a little busy and preoccupied but that’s understandable. 10⁄10

Was looking forward to trying out Johnnys Bagels. Being from upstate NY I have been spoiled with hearth baked or water boiled bagels that are crispy, yet tender and chewie on the inside. The bagels at Johnnys resembled the shape and texture of a Hamburger Bun or dinner roll… what an unsettling discovery! I got bacon scallion cream cheese… the cream cheese itselft lacked any flavor whatsoever, and when placed on my toasted bagel, it melted to a frothy, yogurt goey mess. I mean, whens the last time melted cream cheese ran down your fingers and hand like milk? Why was it so watery? With zero flavor? I was less than pleased! My guest got a sesame bagel with garden veggie cream cheese. yes there were cut veggies in the cream cheese… but what a awkward texture and taste! The veggies used didnt seem fresh, and didnt«crunch», and the veggies didnt even taste ripe! We think the cream cheese had unripened tomato in it? Oh gross dude. ALLANDALL… WEWILLBESKIPPINGTHISPLACEFOREVER! Wegmans has the best fresh bagels in the area. Worth the extra effort to grab some fresh bagels in the morning and being them home and toast them yourself! Steer clear from Johnnys… coffee was medicore, and fair, but dont do the bagels. You will be let down. What a bummer! I had huge hopes of what I considered the only local bagel shoppe in the area! Way to let us down, Johnnys! #kindapissed #kindagrossedout #wontbeback

The general theme of the negative reviews are: RUDESERVICE! Dear Johnny, Why don’t you correct this? It seems simple. Hire staff that understand without the customer they don’t have a job. I asked the girl what kind of bagels they had, she rolled her eyes and then pointed at the wall. She turned to her co– worker and stated she can’t wait to go home. My sandwich was good but was over shadowed by the awful staff. I asked the guy where the bathroom was? He said …“Outside, anywhere you want, go right, go left, just go outside if you want to go.“ So. Stinking. Rude.
