The food was alright. I have had bagels better elsewhere. I ordered an everything bagel with tuna but the bagel seemed a bit stale.

I have eaten here about four times because sometimes convenience is the deciding factor for very lazy me, and seeing that I work at Lehigh, there’s nothing closer to eat than Johnny’s. I will start off this review by saying that I have had things here that I loved and I have had things here that were eh. The Jennah’s Funky Chicken in a wrap was stellar. The Herby Turkey, on the other hand, has been a hit or miss. The first time I tried it, it was pretty good. Turkey, herb cream cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, some kind of barbecue sauce? all on a sesame bagel. The second time I had it, there were no veggies and WAY too much cream cheese. Sometimes how they package their food to-go can result in a slightly soggy sandwich. If you come here during lunchtime, the line can get pretty long and can be a little slow moving. Their method for handing out orders seems a little inefficient as it often results in a bunch of people crowded by the register. A tad on the expensive side for what you’re getting in my opinion. A drink and a sandwich can easily run about $ 9. I still would come back because I think more likely than not, the food is actually pretty good but until then, 3 stars.

Delicious bagels and sandwiches from this deceptively large shop on Lehigh’s campus. The bagels are always fresh made and fluffy. The sandwiches are amazing. The Miami beach is swimming in Russian dressing with tasty cheese and corned beef. Perfect for a quick stop near campus.

I am genuinely surprised that Johnny’s has received such poor reviews. I love this place! I was a regular during college and when ever I return to Bethlehem from my new home in the tundra(Minneapolis), I make sure to stop by here. Why? –The bagels are unforgettably good. The real deal. I find myself craving Johnny’s bagels half way across the country on a regular basis. Fresh and soft! Everything holds a special place in my heart, but I like honey wheat too. If you are anxious about too many carbs, you can get your bagel«scooped out.» A nice selection of cream cheese, could probably eat the pretty pink strawberry version straight from a container(real chunks of berries). A few of my personal favorite bagel sandwiches include: egg & cheese; egg, hummus, lettuce, tomato(super weird combo, but delicious); Leonardo da Veggie(pretty sure they ripped this from Bruegger’s). –The regular guys behind the counter have been there forever and ever and they really are the greatest. They have a ball at work, always joking around with smiles on their faces. Even after being away from Johnny’s for 1+ years, they still remember me like old friends. I’ve gotten less friendly vibes from the owner who I’ve encountered far less often than the counter guys. –Cheap eats. –Aside from the bagels, they’ve got some yummy sandwich options too. I’m a veggie girl, so I especially like the Gast Griller and Great Gast. Don’t be deterred by these other reviews. Johnny’s reigns supreme in the world of bagels.

Not sure what people are talking about with these mean chef comments. I’ve never had a bad service here in the dozens of times I have visited. I do however agree that most of the food is mediocre. Not a bad place but i expect more from a bagel stop.

Bagels are OK, chefs are the meanest I’ve ever seen — just jerks.

The food is good – fresh bagels and ingredients – but everything else is a little lackluster. I don’t crave to go back. You can’t go wrong with a bagel sandwich. They’re all pretty good. I’ve had the falafel wrap before and it was pretty good. It kept falling apart, and I’ve had better anyway. The baked goods here always look really yummy. Like others are saying, the service isn’t good. The chefs are usually in the back prepping and don’t come out until you’ve been standing there for a few minutes. They’re also not very personable. The venue is dark and usually deserted. I think a lot of students get their food to go and eat it outside on the square. That’s probably a good choice.

I have to agree with the previous reviews. I do enjoy the bagels but hate the service. If you ordering one sandwich they can manage but if you order anything over 2 and on different bagels, then prepare to have your order wrong. Maybe they expect that since it’s on a college campus they can get away with bad service. When I questioned the order that I made, the man working started to argue with me about what i ordered… Maybe if you wrote down my order, 3 of the 6 bagel sandwiches wouldn’t have been wrong. 6 sandwiches and 6 drinks…$ 35 later It’s a shame that Johnny’s has monopolized the Bethlehem bagel scene

I was so excited when Johnny’s Bagels of Main St, Bethlehem announced they were opening on Lehigh Campus. Johnny’s has delicious bagels — HUGE and chewy on the outside, soft on the inside. The bagels are still delicious and smothered in cream cheese. However, the establishment seems to have missed the mark in living up to their original location. The service is lousy, slow even when there’s no one else waiting. I usually only order bagels, as the sandwiches are sub-par and pretty pricey. However, they’re still my go-to place for a bag of bagels to take home. There is a lot of seating, which is a plus. Bottle drinks,(pretty average) coffee, and tea are available. This is the kind of place I stop in if I’m in the area and starving, but very rarely do I go out of my way.

I love the bagels here — unfortunately, the service stinks. You usually have to flag someone down after you’ve waited a bit and remind them of what you’re waiting for, which is annoying. The french fries are pretty good, too. There’s lots of seating and I definitely cured a hangover or two here during college.

Had a Reuben one time– was the smallest sandwich I ever had! Two pieces of meat, a little sauerkraut and chesse for $ 6! A TOTALRIPOFF!, they should be ashamed of themselves selling such a thing!
