Bethlehem, PA — August 8. We had a good time. But… More color stations did not amount to more color. It did amount to greater expectation and later, greater disappointment. In fact, even if you stopped running to stand in line with two hundred or more other runners at one of nine«color station» it was likely you wouldn’t even get any color! Or too little to matter. And the little color-gel pistols and kid-volunteers taking handfuls of powder out of a box on the ground to toss at strangers couldn’t keep up at any of the stations. You boast a million runners… at $ 30+ a pop, minus a $ 3 t-shirt and $ 0.50 in colored cornstarch. Color Me Rad is making a killing.(Congrats) But, is it too much to ask that you live up to the promise of color?! We bought four color packets(at $ 2.50 each) and thank gods we did — If we didn’t apply color to ourselves, we could have run the entire route clean and dry thanks to the stingy and under prepared organizers and overburdened tiny and inadequate army of volunteers. I think RAD is way over rated — City of Bethlehem, it’s time to try the original The Color Run.
