No wonder the restaurant was pretty empty at lunchtime! A friend and I went to the Food Court side. I ordered a Melanzane sandwich and a slice of pizza. Both of them came out fairly *cold*, so i had to ask for them to be heated. My friend ordered a Stromboli and a side salad. One thing came out, but there was nobody to make the salad. The Stromboli was barely warm and she threw away the salad because it tasted bad and the lettuce was past its prime. They did not have enough staff to handle the few people ordering food, and there was no manager doing quality control. Never going back.

Very average. Not terrible, not terrific. I’ve had a few of the dishes and none of them wowed me

Amazing! The hubby and I had a Late Night Happy Hour here after seeing Batman vs. Superman. We sat at the bar and were served by Christian, the bartender. His customer service was. We had the Cozze, Gnudi de Ricotta and the Diavola Pizza. PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE, whenever you visit you’ve got to try the Cozze: The mussels and the sauce are delicious!

I have to agree with other Unilocalers, this is probably the best restaurant in Montgomery Mall. I love the décor of the restaurant — more of an upscale Italian restaurant with prices to match. Don’t come in and expect huge portions — it’s more like fine dining type of portions. I think after reading reviews about bad service, they must of addressed the service issues some reviewers complained about because the service we received was fantastic. After all, this is a Patina Restaurant — same folks who run Nick and Stef’s Steakhouse in NYC so one should expect great service and food. For the food, they gave us bread to start. Then we ate their Fried calamari. Again, the portion size isn’t that large but I thought it was perfect for two. It was nice and crispy and had a little kick to it. For entrees, I had the Branzino. I thought it was prepared and cooked very well. My wife ate the Bistecca and the steak was cooked as requested and tasted great. My kids ordered the Margherita pizza and penne with Bolognese sauce. My wife and I loved the Bolognese sauce — it was probably one of the best ones and the pasta was cooked al dente. For dessert we decided to try Torta Di Formaggio — their cheesecake. It’s the size of a small tart, so don’t expect a Cheesecake Factory size — but it was great. It’s made out of ricotta cheese so it really melts in your mouth. They also offer two course Prix-Fixe lunch menu for $ 19 and a three course Prix-Fixe dinner menu for $ 29. That’s a pretty great value in my opinion.

I stopped into Naples today for a quick something to go and ordered the special Pizza of the day, the«Diavola«Pizza, and it was absolutely delicious. The slight char from the woodfire grill paired with the ingredients(Mozzerella, Marscapone, Spicy Capicollo, Roasted Calabrian Chili flakes((sort of like crushed red pepper flakes)) Cippilini onion and some pesto) made for a fantastic bite. While my pizza was cooking I chatted up Sayed the bartender, who took very good care of me and made sure my pizza was out in an timely fashion because I was in a slight rush. While my experience was brief, I’d say it was outstanding. I received the top notch service and food one would expect from any higher end restaurant. I’ll be back.

Decent pizza place inside a mall near the food court — a great refuge if you want quiet conversation away from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the mall. Décor was nice, modern, brightly-lit, and clean and service was attentive and fast(for lunch). I had the«il giardiniere»(vegetable) pizza for about $ 16 — nothing special but it was a bit skimpy on the toppings but plenty of pizza for one person(enough to share for two if you get an appetizer as well). The Ceci Fritti appetizer is recommended — it had the consistency of polenta and came with a subtle and tangy sauce for dipping. If you don’t want to trek too far from the ArcLight but are looking for a quieter place to grab a quick meal, Naples is recommended.

Best food in the mall in my opinion. I can’t speak for the food court counter but I’ve been to the restaurant and everything we’ve had was delicious. Also, really love the vibe in there — it’s bright and spacious. The staff is all super friendly and accommodating as well. For food — definitely get the arancini(fried risotto balls filled with sausage and served with tomato sauce). These are the perfect starter or snack if you’re just there for drinks. The order comes with three. I’ve also had the burrata, which was standard in terms of accompaniments but a go-to nonetheless. We’ve had the Caesar salad on a number of occasions as well and it comes topped with real anchovies. I personally prefer a more flavorful Caesar dressing(Ledo’s randomly makes my favorite Caesar dressing of all time), but the entrée size is a good salad to share with a few people. One of my favorite dishes was the gnocchi on the summer menu — it had a pea pesto and was topped with crab meat. So yummy — light but still filling! The menu shifts a little in winter and the winter replacement of this dish is a gnudi with ragu. The gnudi… I can’t say enough good things. It was soft and creamy and delicious and did I mention soft? A must-have! We’ve also tried the melon and prosciutto pizza, which was a nice combo of sweet and salty. My boyfriend recently got the hangar steak and it was reeeally good. Very tender and I really liked the diced tomatoes that came with it. A different time, my uncle got their version of the eggplant parmesan and it was super interesting and very delicious. The eggplant was thinly sliced and layered(no batter!) and so it was extremely tender. He said it was the best he’s ever had! As for desserts, the ricotta doughnut hole thingies were really airy and light. I also surprisingly liked the cheesecake(which I usually don’t like much). It had a blueberry compote on top and it was just very light, not too sweet, and balanced out with the tartness of the compote. This is definitely the best sit-down restaurant at the mall, in my opinion. It has a good vibe, nice atmosphere, and good food. And it’s like… right across the street from my place so that helps! Basically, I suggest the pasta dishes and entrees over the pizza. And I suggest the arancini over the Caesar salad.

The food tastes fine but the portions are absolutely tiny. I had to go get food somewhere else after eating here. 1 appetizer and 2 entrees were 60 bucks. Entrees were size of appetizers. If you want value don’t go here.

been working on getting an art show together for Baltimore Gallery G788’s One A Day show which opens 4 feb 2016. needed a drill. walked to Home Depot then Monkey Mall Sears to check comps and test their mattresses, nope no organic ones. on my way out thought i would check out Naples Ristorante since Legal Seafood has closed. they had salmon on the menu plus half price bottles of wine. checked out the salmon with the maitresse d’ who on request asked the chef. turned out it was wild caught Scottish. it came with eggplant caponata napolitana and green olive tapenade and ‘crisped’ potatoes. SOLD! the young lady who seated me, Amber, and remaining waitstaff were elegantly courteous and definitely service oriented. she was also delightfully interested in acquiring any of the courtesies of a knowledgeable wait person she did not have, and demonstrated knowing quite a few of them. their wine list included a lovely 2014 Gruner Weltliner by Steininger which she determined i was familiar with and skipped the de rigueur taste test. guess it could have been a bad bottle, but it did not disappoint. and the house olive oil was a delightfully mild but peppery surprise i enjoyed with crusty slice of tender italian bread while the dish was prepared. the entrée itself was a gustatory extravaganza!!! the delicate salmon cooked au point graced by a ribbon of green olive tapenade, lay as gentle as its taste on the eggplant caponata napolitana, between two ‘crisped’ potatoes. but that does no favor to the taste explosion of the caponata which did not overpower, but complemented the salmon exquisitely, and whose mouthfeel contrasted delightfully with the roasted potatoes which had been ‘flattened’(i would say smashed) then crisped by refrying in rosemary salt. the cipollini were raisin sized bubbles of gentle onion ness and the tomatoes and capers provided the acid i look for when adding a splash of citrus to my fish, no need for citrus in this dish! perfectly sublime. they may call themselves cuisine bourgeoise, but the noblesse of their bourgeoisie comes from the haute cuisine to which they take it. they are not in the same category as the surrounding mall eateries food or pricewise, but the enclosed space is far quieter and more elegant. they have the sense not to ice their water unless requested, and for knowledgeable foodies they are a DEFINITEBARGAIN!!!

My husband and I came for dinner and it was quite packed. Just wanted to try something new since they have posters in the mall. The portions are small. We ordered pulpo, calamari, Napoli salad, porcheta and a lasagna… The entrees came mad late, in 40 minutes or so. It’s a good thing I was already full from the appetizers. It wasn’t all that bad, but it wasn’t that good. I enjoyed the pulpo the most. Lasagna was no good and everything else was so so. For $ 90, it could be better. And faster. I guess the best thing to do is order their 3 course meal for $ 27.

The wife and I stopped in for a quiet lunch while we were at Montgomery Mall, were seated promptly. She ordered a simple salad and I ordered a two course lunch. The waitress came almost immediately with bread… but just one small slice for the each of us like it was caviar or something special. The bread was decent, but cold in the middle. There was some olive oil on the table, but no grated cheese or basalmic vinegar as most Italian restaurants have to put in a small dish and soak the bread in it while the food came. The menu suggested wines with each dish, so I ordered a glass of wine thinking it would be the typical $ 5 – $ 6…but when the bill came it was $ 14 !! This is for a $ 18 bottle of wine. Like most people I don’t like surprises and I asked the waitress if this was a mistake. With a straight face she simply answered«no». Bottom line… I’ll not go back to this place again as the pasta was gummy and the prices are rediculous. Mike & Barbara Cecchini Bethesda, Md.

Wanted to try this restaurant out, despite being skeptical, because hey, just wanted to be optimistic and review it for myself. Went there for dinner and it was really crowded and busy. The overall look of the place was very simple, but looks nice. Nothing to complain about there. The food though… way overpriced… and not good… Our party of 4 wanted to share calamari, and when the plate came… wow so tiny! All other places that I have had calamari at, had way bigger portions and better tasting too. This calamari was dry and the breading came off too easily. I only ate 2 pieces because if I ate more than that It would have seemed like I ate half the plate already We were also given some bread for the table. They made it sound like only a few tables get this special treat. The bread looked pretty fresh and when i touched it, it was still frozen in the center! We got 2 pizzas because they are supposedly known for their pizzas. The outer pizza was crust was not bad… everything else was flimsy and soggy. When i went to pick up a slice, everything just slid right off, I had to roll it up in order to keep the ingredients from falling off. Lasagna was just ok, but not worth $ 19 or however much it was. The other pasta dish was meh, but the egg on top looked epic!(just the egg though… just the egg) For the amount of money paid, we did not get a decent meal… I will not come back here(sorry, not sorry)

Hands down the best Italian food I’ve had in recent memory. We were in a little bit of a rush because we were on our way to see the new STARWARSMOVIE and the service was absolutely phenomenal. Bianca was our server and she made sure we didn’t miss the trailers! We started with calamari followed by the Bianca pizza(DOUBLEBIANCA!). All were made to perfection with beautiful flavors and fantastic presentations. For dessert we had the cannoli which I highly recommend and a delicious tiramisu. The manager Mariana? also came by to check on us as well. Great food and amazing service. So when you walk up to the host stand ask for the double Bianca, they’ll know that you mean.

I won’t call this the worst restaurant I’ve ever been to, but it’s definitely in the bottom 10. Even grading on the«mall food court» curve, it’s awful. First, when I entered, I waited what seemed like forever for the hostess to come over in a basically empty restaurant. After telling her three times that, yes, i am dining alone, someone else(the manager? another hostess?) scurried over and loudly whispered to her not to sit me in(name redacted cause I don’t know this person)‘s section because«she hates solo diners and gets really pissed off.» Ummm, how about you just fire people who hate to do their job? After that charming welcome, I was seated, presumably to be waited on by someone who doesn’t hate me. Guys, the food is awful. These rave reviews must be for the pizza slice stand out front, because what they are serving in the restaurant is overpriced cafeteria food. I ordered their house salad, which was way overpriced at the $ 11 dollars the menu claimed it cost, and almost offensive at the $ 12 they actually tried to charge.(read your bills carefully here) For $ 11 I would not expect brown fruit and dried-out cheese-maybe freshen up that cooler every now and then, guys. The lasagna Bolognese… where to start. First, it’s not a bolognese. It’s not even an attempt at a Bolognese. It’s a lasagne Americana, and a pretty crappy one at that. For, $ 19 I got a slab of mushy noodles slathered in ground beef and pizza sauce. I could have gone to literally any kiosk in the entire food court and gotten better food and better service, and that’s without even factoring in the cost. I wouldn’t eat here again if it were free. My advice to diners is to stay away.

If you haven’t been to Naples yet, what are you waiting for? Yes, it’s a mall, but this is not a «mall» restaurant. They have terrific food, terrific service, and stellar management to boot. We went once, and then – within a week – we were back three more times(A shout out to our amazing server Amber, who was helpful, knowledgeable, friendly, fun, and just a blast!). The menu here, lacks nothing – fish, pasta – and is always well portioned. Price points are extremely fair, particularly given the quality of the food and experience. All in all, we are so glad we started coming to Naples. We now bring family when they visit town. Yes, it’s Bethesda and you have great options in Bethesda row and downtown Bethesda(which are also terrific). However, this restaurant should be counted among the rest. A gem in Bethesda. Don’t miss Naples!

I stopped by the Naples Pizzeria for a quick and affordable lunch. They were having a deal that if you buy a slice of pizza($ 2.50), you can add a soda for just one dollar. I ordered a slice of the Margherita slice and a regular ginger ale. The service was prompt and friendly. The size is pretty good for the price too. The flavor left me wanting. It was not bad by any means but it was a tad underwhelming. Perhaps I compare it to pizza Margherita from Naples but it didn’t stack up. The crust was good and had a decent char flavor from the oven. However, the sauce lacked real flavor. Overall, the pizza feels middle of the road. Not horrible but not fantastic. That being said, it’s not a bad deal and would probably get another one in the future.

Came here for a Sunday brunch. The waiter was a bit slow and the table narrow but other than that it was pretty good. We had the pork belly and fried calamarie appetizers. For main course pizza and lasagne. The portions are a bit on the smaller side but quality is good. Liked the atmosphere and service.

Not bad… But I expected more from a place like this… Especially with the prices… So came here for lunch with some coworkers. It looked a little pricy but we are willing to try new things. The ambiance was very nice and staff helpful. There was a lunch menu… But that seemed like it would be a lot of food. It looked like it would be a good deal. After you order they give you bread… Just one slice… And there’s a bottle of olive oil in the center of the table. Well it was more like a mini tin box of oil… A bottle may have looked nicer. It was not intuitive to all of us what to use it for… And some would have liked butter… But no wait staff around to ask for butter… I had the funghi pizza. Pretty good. I liked the chewy dough and crust. Cheese was also good. It was a good combo. A little pricy… Yes. My coworkers were not impressed with the lasagna and the spaghetti looking pasta. They agreed that it was not worth it… Anyhow… Maybe I’ll have to try happy hour or something…

Who would in their right mind pay $ 5 for a tiny slice of cheese pizza? Naples must believe that if you through more Italian sounding syllables at a lunch option, the more you could charge for less. In this case, reheated pizza. Pass for better options like fresh griddles Sakura Chicken, waffles and friend chicken or lobster rolls…

We decided to try this restaurant because we felt we wanted something a little fancier than our usual quick meals at the mall. Greeted by the front hostess, we got a nice seat by the windows to get a view into the entire restaurant… Beautiful Italian glass hanging throughout the high ceilings. Our server was nice, but could tell he was new. The water was slow to get to us, and he walked away with the lemons I asked for which tickled me, but quickly realized the error. He also memorized our order. I noticed other random tables getting free bread and couldn’t understand the order of that, as they went to the table next to us, but didn’t offer it to us until a few minutes later. The menu has plenty of options. Beware of minor typos though, mine said«lunch» and the text is slanted on the back towards the fold. Very minor, but makes the restaurant feel a little newbish. Our appetizers came out before the salad: the cauliflower brussel sprouts dish was very good. Risotto balls were ok, as the rice was a little bland in taste. Then there was a long long lull before getting our beet salad, which was nice as well. Tick tock… Two people in suits came to check on us. They were way quicker in circling the room than the servers. Long wait for our sausage pizza, which I know can’t take that long to bake. The girl delivering the pizza walked aimlessly around my tables and I waved her over to say it was ours. Then she brought out another pizza and hovered around another set of tables until they waved her over. Another minor flaw that adds a break down in efficiency and professionalism. Does she know the table numbers? Anyhow, the pizza was ok. It’s very thin compared to the typical Neapolitan pizza. The crust is thinner not doughy, and actual center is very thin. Cheese is slim too, not your usual chunky pieces of buratta. Our server was not quick enough in checking in on tables quickly regarding checks and desserts. Finally waved down a suit for our check, who relayed to our waiter, who again did not get our check. Lots of staff and lots of higher ranking staff roaming, but just needs to become more efficient and proactive in their delivery. If they’re going to have that much staff on board, then make sure orders are getting out on time. If you’re going to ask me how the meal was and I tell you food was slow, react. Don’t just ask for the sake of asking. There was no excuse for the slowness when the dining room was nearly empty at our arrival. Overall, the food is okay but we liked that there were many options and enjoyed a refreshingly refined ambiance in the mall, but the food and service does not match it. You can find better Italian fare — especially pizza — that is served a lot quicker in this area.

I was pleasantly surprised by this new restaurant in Montgomery Mall! The food was amazing and the overall experience was like being in a fancy restaurant! Not something you expect when going to a place in a mall. The food is Italian, but is not your basic spaghetti and meatballs! I had the gnudi(ricotta dumplings, lump crab, spring peas, lemon) and it was so delicious! The sauce was to die for! They make pizza in house and you get that in that restaurant or at the to go counter in the food court. They also have a great wine selection and happy hour. This is the type of place I would bring my parents or anyone I’m trying to impress as the cuisine and atmosphere is definitely more high end for a restaurant. Give it a try!

I wasn’t impressed with the décor or food but what really tipped the scale towards one star was the service. We waited ten minutes to be seated in a back area near a bar. I understand that we needed to wait to be seated despite there being plenty of open tables so we could give the waiter a break. Anyway, there were only two other tables being used in the back area. We got ok service from a new waiter who wasn’t completely familiar with the menu but was pleasant. As other reviewers have noted, not all the dishes on the menu were available. Today they did not have the chicken parmigiana. We observed the managers walking around greeting every table both while we were waiting to be seated and while we had our dinner. The older manager with gray hair walked around us at least five times and not once approached our table. I looked around and the only difference between the people seated in the two other tables in our area and us was that we are a multicultural family. I can’t attribute the lack of attention from him to anything else besides us being multicultural. The message was loud and clear, and we won’t be back. The food was otherwise mediocre. I would give the pizza a 5 out of 10 because the crust was soggy but my husband liked his pasta(7⁄10). It was definitely overpriced.

***Happy Hour Review*** Aperitivo Happy Hour daily 4 – 6 at the bar: $ 6 cocktails, select Italian wines and beers and a $ 7 Aperol Spritz. Complimentary appetizers include a salumi board of cured meats, crostini and authentic Neapolitan Margherita pizza from their wood-fired oven. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate my last day of work and welcome my summer break! One may not think to come to a mall for a good happy hour, but as Bob Dylan once said, «Times they are a-changin.» Naples’ bar has a chic look, with a glass-paneled view. Yesterday I sipped my cocktail while watching the weather change from bright and sunny, to dark and stormy. As far as happy hour goes, you can’t beat the deal I stated above. Free food, People! Meat trays, pizza slices, marinated olives, and twig-like crostini. It’s not my favorite Neopolitan pizza, but still tasty. I recommend their mushroom version, which I had during their opening week. I also recommend their tasty white wine sangria(not a happy hour deal, but worth the splurge). Naples Ristorante gives me a reason to come to the shopping mall again. There are many new trendy restaurants here now. Make this place one of your must stop rotations.

I think this is a great place to stop by for a relaxing dine in or a quick pizza carry out. This place offers a dinning terrace. The dinning terrace is a sit down dining area where you can be served. They also have a bar in the back where you can sit and do some major happy hour sessions with friends. The sangria is a must. It’s a rose sangria so it’s sweet and crisp. At the bar, the servers are so friendly and hard working. They are so personable and have a drive to make sure their customers are happy. I would give them an A plus plus. However, I wish the management was able to teach their staff and inform them on prices and menu items. I know it’s a grand opening, so that may be why the staff members are lacking knowledge regarding the menu. But it’s always the management’s responsibility to make sure their employees are well trained and have the knowledge so that way they can relay it to their customers. As far as the carry out section of the shop, it’s an exposed area where you can see all the chef working hard to place pizzas in the open fire oven. So you can see the beautiful hustle and bustle known as cooking. It’s a beautiful sight!

With the new fancy pants dining area(or more formerly known as the«dining terrace» because Bethesda is too snobby to have a «food court») in Montgomery Mall you can expect an upgrade to your typical mall food court fare. The newly opened Naples Ristorante e Pizzeria e Bar is good example of this upgrade, replacing your usual Sbarro with authentic Neapolitan pizza. The restaurant, an offshoot of New York’s Naples 45, serves Italian pizzas, salads and zeppolli. They are owned by Patina Restaurant Group, which is the restaurant group specializes in high-volume restaurants at major attractions including Disney World and Disney Land, Rockefeller Center and the Hollywood Bowl. The Montgomery Mall location is the second outside of NYC and their first mall location. There are two parts to the restaurant, a quick service counter that opens to the dining terrace, where food court patrons can grab a quick bite and a much larger restaurant behind it. The sit down restaurant is huge with high ceilings and an open kitchen with a few from the food court. We had a simple lunch here. A cesare classic salad($ 7) and parma garlic knots(5 for $ 5). The salad was simple, it came with anchovies(which I promptly saved and left on my coworker’s keyboard) but it does speak to the authenticity of the preparation of the food. The salad was perhaps overpriced for what it was given the portion size and the garlic knots were unbelievably salty to me. If the pizza dough is this salty then I’m not racing to go back. I did not make it past the first few bites. What I can say is that the staff was super helpful in explaining the italian menu. For those of you that do go, give the pizza($ 17 – 20) a whirl. I heard the restaurant is in the process of having its pizza certified by La Vera Pizzeria Napoletana, an arm of the Italian government that bestows a special designation on pizzerias. Maybe once it gets this seal of approval I’ll come back.
