Really good breakfast, had a huge three egg omelet with mushrooms, swiss, and spinach (it includes three toppings). It was huge and delicious. Came with potatoes which were just okay and toast. You could tell the spinach was frozen but that didn’t bother me. Coffee was fresh and good. Service was very personable. Will definitely return.

Superb food and service. We’ve only been twice but both times left is satisfied. For the price they give a generous amount of food. Cozy setting, and not a large place by any standard but the food is cooked well and made fresh and it’s a great bang for your buck!

Mediocre food, slow service, noisy and dingy. Home fries where just cut up potatoes with a film of bland something (wasn’t grease, since there was no taste, maybe some kind of cheap oil with the calories but none of the taste?). Room temp cheap sausage links. French toast that I can’t even describe it was so unmemorable. Eggs that like the potatoes has nothing going for it other than it was cooked with the same mystery oil substance. Weak yet at the same time muddy coffee. So mediocre it couldn’t even be bad, just edible enough to not be offensive. I have no real epicurean expectations from Berlin– I’m in NYC enough to get real food– I just want to support local business bc I live here, but this place I just can’t bring myself to go back to, sorry

I grew up in CT, and honestly, this place has the best burgers in the state. Forget all the overrated places that everyone else hypes up, and check out Even Stevens for huge, super fresh Angus burgers for a great price. The breakfast is really good, too, but ever since they stepped up their burger game, that’s all I order. Look forward to eating here every time I’m back in town.

Love this place. Very friendly, Great service, great coffee. I wrote a review few years ago and I’m updating it. My husband and I stop here for breakfast twice a week. I stop here for lunch alest twice a month. Food is fresh. They have homemade cornbread as well as fresh fruit. They have specials on their board. Waitresses like Rose and Amanda are wonderful and as well as the owners and as well as Brenda when busy which is often help with clean tables. Often help the waitress with coffee refills. Food is flavorful and most of the time fast .
The restaurants is small but cozy as well as home feel to it. Saturday and Sunday gets busy but the wait is worth it and the staff does their best to have every single customer is seated and feed.

We go to Even Stevens on weekends when we have slept in too late to go to a fast food place for breakfast. The food is really good. The pancakes are the size of dinner plates. The hash browns are very good and well seasoned. The biscuits with sausage gravy are my favorite but they are only available as a special. We have been here for lunch and dinners too. Their specials a normally pretty good and they make a mean grilled cheese.

I eat breakfast here often because the food is fresh, the service is friendly and they have GRITS! Not only do they have grits, but will happily substitute them for the toast and home fries which is great for my gluten sensitive body! They serve a hardy portion and they are properly cooked grits, not instant!
I also like their hearty steak ‘n eggs for only $ 9.95!
For the lunch they have excellent fresh veggies!
It’s kinda small, not ideal ambiance, but I prefer saving $$ and good food to paying for ambiance.

This is my favorite restaurant, and my hubby’s too! The meatloaf special is awesome, along with the other items on the menu. As for the review about the home fries not being fresh, but frozen. Let me know where I can buy these in the supermarket, because they are the best. (read between the lines-​I am telling you they are freshly made!!) They also offer a great steak salad or regular salad, steamed veggies and fresh fruit when in season. My husband is health conscious and can find things on the menu that are healthy.

I’d prefer not to give any stars. Don’t bother if your interested in fresh and food with some homemade effort. The food served is beyond basic. Homefries are frozen package and deep fried. Nothing healthy at all is offered on the menu.

fancy inside or outside (it’s a diner that’s been done over but retains a lot of local charm, funky fun) but the food was delicious.
I had the crispy fish special sandwich (fresh, crunchy, and spicy) with some lightly cajun’d fries and crisp cole slaw. My dining partner had the fajita steak salad; which he loved. The service on a slow Wednesday noon was friendly and quick.
Priced right, I’ll definitely be back! I’m often dining alone and they have a small counter, plus plenty of tables. I’ve heard good things about the Friday evening fish n’ chips so I’ll head back for that!

You would not think so but this place is really awesome. The outside looks blah and so is the inside décor… but the food and service is stellar! I always go for the big breakfast when I come here…2 poached eggs, home fries and pancakes. Let me tell you, the home fries are out of this wolrd… never had better! The pancakes are ginormous and they are filled with flavor… I have had both the blueberry and the bannana walnut… so good. I would choose this place over any diner. LOVE!
