Wedding Guitarist Mori Achen

I presume that Mori is a terrific guitarist and does a great job at weddings. I presume because I guess I’ll never find out. Why, because it seems that Mori doesn’t return calls or messages. When you are in a service profession and you do not have in your repertoire the simple act of returning messages, you should not expect people to leave positive reviews.

All of the Unilocal reviews are for Mori’s services as an event performer, and I didn’t see one for another valuable service Mori provides, as a classical guitar instructor. So I’ll provide the first one!
I’ve been taking CG lessons from Mori for over a year. I had decided to learn CG again after a long hiatus, and Mori was recommended to me by a friend of mine who plays jazz piano. And now over a year later, I’m very happy I decided to take instruction from him.
Mori is very patient, but is still very exacting with what he expects from me. Each lesson begins with warmup scales and exercises. He started me on some Carcassi etudes. At first I thought maybe they were too difficult and wondered why he selected them. But I’m determined and gave them a go. I’m so happy I did. While they are very challenging, over time and Mori’s expert tutelage I’ve learned to play them well, along with the several other pieces and etudes both Mori and I have selected.
I’ve learned quite a lot from Mori, and my skill level has improved dramatically under his instruction. He’s very professional and friendly, and his instruction is top notch. I highly recommend him if you’re looking for a CG instructor who can take you to levels you might not have thought possible. I really can’t believe the pieces Mori has me playing. A year ago I wouldn’t have though I could play them!

Mori’s music was a fantastic addition to our wedding ceremony! We loved that Mori was willing and able to play a variety of music from Bach to the Beatles. This allowed us to choose a variety of songs and artists to make the music at our ceremony unique and personal. If you are looking for an experienced and talent musician for your special event, look no further than Mori. :)

Mori Achen and Company did an amazing job at our wedding ceremony. He was very easy to work with in the months proceeding our wedding. Mori was absolutely fantastic during our intimate destination wedding in Sonoma, CA. The beautiful music he played was so special to my husband and I and something I’ll remember forever. He was terrific to work with, extremely friendly and super professional. After the wedding, so many of our guests came up to comment on how much they liked his performance and was such a great touch to the ceremony and cocktail hour. He plays all sorts of music both modern and classical and will allow you to pick songs ahead of time. I would recommend Mori for any wedding or event!

Mori did a great job with our wedding ceremony music and the cocktail hour for our August wedding at the Brazil Room in Berkeley. He knows the venue and had the set up down such that I didn’t need to do anything other than say hello and check in.
My partner and I didn’t have many specific requests for songs, but Mori’s repertoire suited us and simplified what we needed to plan. Mori’s live guitar music was exactly what we were looking for to accompany our outdoor afternoon wedding.
