This was my first time to Riki — a very cute store with great selection, and nice service. However, I warn you about the prices. I bought a dress from this boutique for $ 140 regular price(not including tax) and the next day I found the EXACTSAMEDRESS, by the same brand at Ambiance in San Francisco for $ 79 — REGULARPRICE! Since I don’t live in Berkeley, I called that same day(less than 24 hours after I bought the dress) to ask if i could return the dress and get a refund instead of a store credit. But they only offer store credit. I would guess that the rest of their merchandise is also quite marked up.

Sweetest shopgirl in town. Great for interviews and keeping your work wardrobe from getting too boring. Wish their stuff fit me better but it’s like Sunhee Moon in that the designer has a body style in mind and you’re in luck if that’s you. Otherwise, not so much. Either they’re been reading their Unilocal reviews on service or there’s just no pleasing people who think ellipses are a substitute for spelling and grammar.

Went in this Saturday on a walk home from running errands. Saw a pair of shoes I liked, picked it up needing some help… but after being ignored for about 10 minutes without even a «hi»…I jetted out. Coming with a fashion background, I love to support small local boutiques but after having eye contact with the sales girl, holding a shoe… she just ignored me sorting the racks… I also saw a cute outfit on display I thought about getting for an upcoming baptismal I am going to… but I will not support a store that has terrible, snobby… service. This is just like how I felt after going to Zazu Violets Hats nearby earlier this year(this was actually worse, as I actually did purchase items from them) and look what happened… they had to close their store down probably because no one wants to buy from the rude. This store isn’t very trendy, but does have some unique conservative pieces… I am never coming back and telling others about this terrible experience… I tell ya, customer service is key especially when your price points are a little bit higher than average.

Agree with the Kris’s review… though I’ve seen their shoe selection increase. Also, I really like their jewelry. If you’re not in the area, or think a friend might be interested, you can also see what they have online. Though its only a sample of what you can get in the store, it’s a great little website. check it out!

So, I’m a shopaholic too. Although, these days, I’m doing much less buying and a lot more looking. But I don’t mind, because window shopping affords a mental break from a very stressful day job! At any rate, despite its high prices, I have to say that Riki is one of my very favorite stores, not only in the Bay Area, but across the country. It’s one of two or three stores which come to mind in which the collection as a whole reflects a sense of coherency and the eye, or vision, of the owner. Riki not only sells a great product but a lifestyle. Thus, when I’m in the Vine Street shop, I can envision the kind of woman Riki buys for. I’m not that kind of woman — I think she’s a little older, more accomplished, and little bit more straight-laced than me. But, upon each visit, I end up finding at least one piece that fits into my own wardrobe and that I know will remain fashionable and classic for several seasons. The other reason Riki gets four stars is that she buys a little bit differently; that is, I notice that she’ll have items from designers that you won’t find elsewhere or she’ll buy from designers that aren’t as well known. All of this gives Riki’s more traditional approach to dressing a little bit of an edge. So, if you need something that’s classy, pretty, tailored yet different, Riki is the place for you. Oh, and while I can’t yet afford to buy from Riki without some forethought and budgeting, this is offset for me by the marvelous, yet honest, customer service I’ve received every time I’ve visited the store.

This is a great store. They really get our local climate and help us survive cool summers and not so cold winters. I like the whole«classic pieces with an interesting twist«look and they do it well. The staff is really nice. They do alterations for free on full price items(because I also find the pants way too long). Some things can be a bit pricey, but most things are good quality. They have a small selection of shoes and fun accessories. If you 30−40ish and refuse to be a frump but don’t like the hoochie stuff out there right now, recommend checking it out! There is also a store in SF.

A great place for non-frumpy classic pieces. The clothes are made with beautful, high quality fabrics and the cut always seem to be just right. The pants are a bit on the long side, but that’s typical now-a-days. The sales are just fab!

I love this place. I don’t always leave with something, but it’s fun to go in b/c it’s the«only» stylish place to shop in North Berkeley, they usually have cute accesories, I’ve been in a handful of times and bought a very cute unique watch that I constantly get compliments on for $ 70 and on a different occasion, a pair of cute black shoes on sale and the best pair of brown boots for $ 80 that will never go out of style. They have cute bags as well.

Went here initially just because the sandals I was wearing broke — yes, they broke! And I needed some new shoes to wear back to work after my lunch break. Well, I was delighted by this store. Eventually you start to grow up and realize that it is helpful to have a few basics that are staples in your repertoire of clothing. You want something clean, simple and reliable but in good taste and well done. Well, riki is the place to go. These items are not cheap but they are classic and can last you a lifetime –so long as you don’t gain/lose a lot of weight or grow another limb or something. I spent a long time perusing the clothing and ended up getting a black blouse, grey linen capris, and a white lacy top oh — and some flats. I was there to get shoes, remember? But, I needed the other stuff too…

One of my schoolmates was the daughter of the owner of this shop that originated Davis, my hometown. Ursula always has had a great sense of style, well made clothes with just a touch of her European roots coming through. I remember when she just made high quality kids clothes. Now she has adorable boutiques that always maintain her principles of good well made, never tacky fashion. I’ve brought a few gfs by and they always find something cute that fits great. I think women 20 — 45 will certainly find good pieces to style up their wardrobe.
