Very pricey for what you get but the food is good and they offer gluten free buns for a premium of ~$ 1 or so. Tots are a good and fairly unique side option.

I went here for Karaōke and it was the bomb who ever made those slider they were perfect and the service was great the guy at the cashier was very kind ! The meat was cooked excellent and the waitress was nice ! Expect me every karaōke night as long as the same people work lol I heard the owner is pretty rude to their employees so that’s the only reason I won’t be eating here often

Outstanding sliders for vegetarians and meat lovers alike. I usually get a portobello and a veggie slider, whereas my boyfriend appreciates the grass fed beef and fried chicken(when it’s not too dry). Something we agree on though is the cheese tots(small blocks of solid potato, not lots of little potato pieces put together like traditional tots), which are perfectly crispy with melted cheese on top. They also have a selection of beer and wine. It generally ends up being around $ 25 for two(for just 2 – 3 sliders each). You order at the counter, get a number, find an empty table, and they bring your food out when it’s ready. Location is close to downtown Bart, and super convenient.

I flipping love this place. Their sliders are really yummy, obviously small cuz they are sliders. They have a good lunch special that is worth it. A drink, any two sliders and a side. I think it’s around 9 – 10 dollars. My favorite is the beef slider but the fried chicken slider is amazing too mostly because the aioli is just the most delicious aioli ever. I always get the tater tots which are angular blocks rather than mushy lumps like at other places. They make drinks there and also have alcohol which is cool. The service can be meh to good depending on who is helping you out. They have a student discount too. The interior is very cafeteria like though which I personally don’t like and find uncomfortable. But I keep coming back for their awesome sliders.

I’m mostly disappointed with the service. The sliders(beef, portobello and friesn chicken) were good but for a basically empty place we received little to no attention. We stood at the register for 5 – 10 minutes(at an empty place this feels weird). And waited for 30 – 40 minutes for our food(1 of each slider mentioned above). We asked the cashier and got some attitude from her with each interaction. Not impressed.

I like the food and the flexibility. Just want a snack, go for a solo, really hungry? get three and two sides(yeah, did that once, uncomfortably full afterward). I’ve been working my way through their menu and have yet to be disappointed. Often I’ll order the three slider meal which includes one side and a drink. The fried chicken slider can sometimes come out a bit dry but it always has a good flavor. The burger always comes out tasting good, when they say they will cook it medium rare it really comes out that way. The veggie brick is really good, that surprised me but I really like it. The homemade tater tots are really good. Soft and perfectly cooked on the inside, crispity crunchy on the outside, about two bites per brick(for me at least). They are good both with ketchup and plane. You can also get them with cheese, which is also good but at times masks the great potato flavor. I’ve not tried the salads yet, nor the deserts, but I“ll be back to do it.

World famous tots? Phil’s suckered me right in, because goodness knows I simply can’t resist the starchy, crunchy, savory goodness of well-fried tater tots. The tots were certainly interesting… because they are rectangular, they reminded me of agedashi tofu. I’m not sure I would even call them tots — they’re more like fried cubes of finely grated(and perhaps pressed?) potatoes. The tots at Phil’s are denser, larger, and less crunchy than your traditional tots. Sounds counterintuitive, because you’d think that with all the extra surface area(the tots are much larger than conventional ones) that there would be more crunch. But alas, the surfaces are smoother than the ones created by regular grated potatoes, so you don’t get the texturized crunch. They’re a little too different for me to fall in love with them, but on the plus side, they’re decently well-fried. I realize that Phil’s is trying to play a completely different tot game, but I can’t help but crave the old fashioned tots. I wish they would have left well enough alone. Or, just don’t call them tots.

The taste was good but the portions were too small. I thought when burger came to: Is this for ants ? Potato tots should be more in size and quantity. Employees were helpful and smiling though. No problem with that.

This place is good. Nothing spectacular, definitely not great, but somewhere to grab a good, solid meal. I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while. Finally stopped by with a friend the other day to grab dinner. Overall I’d say the food is a 3.5 stars, but the service was pretty slow. The service was incredibly incredibly friendly and helpful though! I got 1 beef slider and the poppyseed slaw. My friend got tots, a fried chicken slider and a beef slider. The service was incredibly slow. I was pretty engaged in conversation and still noticed that it took a solid 15−20m to get our orders(though that might be bc the fried chix slider takes longer? idk). Definitely will go with the tots next time, the slaw is pretty bland. I tried some of my friend’s tots and they were yummy! I asked for a med rare burger and i got something between that and medium. Sometimes you have to tell restaurants rare even if u want med rare… but overall it was cooked pretty well. The beef tasted good, and the flavors all worked together pretty well… nothing amazing, but definitely better than most other slider places I’ve been to(slider bar in PA). Probably won’t be back, as generally i prefer a big burger to satisfy a burger craving. Still, stop by here, just be ready for a wait if its even slightly busy.

Very close to BART and the Berkeley Rep. I ordered two of their beef sliders and the famous tots with ranch on the side. The price was reasonable and the wait time wasn’t long at all. The beef sliders were okay. Has some nice flavor, but I didn’t like the special sauce too much; it had a bit of a hot/spicy taste to them that was a little overwhelming for me(then again I don’t like spicy food too much). I just ended up scraping off the sauce. Now for the good part, the tater tots were delicious! I love how they weren’t in its traditional form of a small cylinder, but instead they were rectangle-shaped. I had them plain, and they were lightly salted. By themselves, they were great, but once you dip them into ranch or their maple-bacon aioli dip, it brought the tater tots to a whole different level. I loved how light they were with the slight crunch. They weren’t overly fried, nor were they soggy. Just seer perfection. Definitely worth what I paid for them and more. Although I did not order it, one of my friends ordered the Chocolate Caramel Beignets. They were pretty good. I’ve had beignets before from France and have also made some myself. These were not dusted with powdered sugar like they normally are, but instead they were drizzled in the chocolate caramel sauce. The second you grab one and take a bite, the beignets themselves were very airy and light. I enjoyed them as I was eating them; however, they did leave an after taste that I did not enjoy all that much. Luckily, I still had tater tots leftover to combat the beignet after taste. In terms of the establishment itself, seating space is limited. It can become crowded, but we were there on a Thursday night around 7:30pm, so there weren’t too many people. I saw that they have another location along the same street and they hold karaōke. It is fairly clean, but people do leave their trash and trays on the tables instead of putting it away themselves in the designated area by the front door. Also, if you need to use the restroom, you’ll have to ask an employee for the key. Personally, I would just come back for the tots and maybe try something else off of their menu. Total: $ 10.37

This place is awesome for quick and affordable food near the Downtown Berkeley BART. I love the that staff are super friendly and personable. The cheese tots are amazing! All the burgers are great. Also — they gave us free dessert last time we were in! My Go to Order: 1 Beef slider(it is so yummy beef juicy and pink) 1 Chicken(probably my favorite; fried chicken and pickles simple and delicious) 1 Vegitarian(the quinoa and chickpea patty is one of the best veggie burgers I’ve eaten) Cheese tots! Oh so so so good. Homemade cheesy potato goodness.

Here’s the thing about Phil’s…it lacks the ability to be a crowd pleaser. It is in no way one of those ‘everyone can find something they like’ restaurants – there are no healthy options. But when it’s time to splurge, their famous handmade tots are where it’s at. Not too great for large groups but the crew that works there is very experienced and super helpful! Don’t be scared to customize but keep a smile on.

Undercooked meat is not a good thing. We ordered the fried chicken and beef sliders. The chicken slider was lukewarm at best and the beef was raw inside(we asked for medium). The tots were good.

Phil’s Sliders did not live up to my expectations. I got a beef slider and a chicken slider, and I felt like both my meats were too dry. I thought my beef slider was kinda burnt, and in the chicken slider, I felt like I ate more breading than actual chicken. The sliders were edible, but not worth the price.(They’re so tinyyy!) I mean, I had two sliders and was still hungry after that. I might as well just go to in-n-out. I also tried their salted caramel milkshake, but that was nothing too special. The only thing worth coming back here for is their tater tots, which was basically the highlight of the meal. I also tried their sweet potato fries, but they were just average. I really liked the fact that they have a vegan option, so that was really nice, since I was dining with my vegan friend. So if you’re looking for just a snack, Phil’s is an ok place for that.

Their sliders were decent but nothing to rave about. Plus, they were totally overwhelmed at 7pm on a Friday and couldn’t handle the number of customers coming in. It was 25 minutes to get through the line and another 20 to get our food. THEWAIT: We got here at about 6:45pm and were able to nab two tables at the front of Phil’s. However, we took our time and didn’t get in line until about 7pm – that was a mistake. At that point, it took about 20 – 25 minutes to get to the counter, and it was at least another 20 before our food came out. As we were waiting, no one around us was getting their food. They were slammed and couldn’t handle it. Plus, there were tons of people just standing near the counter because there were no seats. THESERVICE: Pretty decent considering how busy they were and the fact that there was one guy bringing out food. My chicken slider had barely any chicken meat on it(it was about half the size of my beef slider) – I pointed this out to the server and at first he was just like«that’s just the way our sliders are, some are smaller and some are larger». Then he caved and replaced it for me. MUST-HAVES: None really! We were in Berkeley and needed a quick dinner. This worked, but I wouldn’t have gone out of my way to come here, and I probably won’t come back. * Chocolate milkshake — 3 stars Very thick, very malty flavor. They put chocolate syrup on the bottom and top it with vanilla milkshake. Good, worth getting if you’re craving a milkshake. * Sweet Potato Tots — 3 stars Too much crisp, the inside is too airy, and the sweet potato flavor is completely lost. * Cheesy Tots — 2.5 stars pic: Same as above, only the cheese is way too hardened, thick, and also flavorless. * Sweet Potato Fries — 3.5 stars pic: Not bad — I like the wedge-like shape allowing for lots of soft, chewy sweet potato filling. These could have used a little more crisp on the outside thought, as they were a tiny big soggy. Beef on left, chicken on right: Overall, the sliders had pretty good buns that were lightly toasted. The sauce and the coleslaw were good toppings. * Poppy Cole Slaw — 3 stars This was fine(light flavor, pretty fresh), but I regret ordering it as basically all the sliders have this exact poppy on them. I guess go out of your way if you really love cole slaw. * Beef Bacon Sliders — 3.5 stars pic: I really like the bacon! They are small strips, freshly crisped, allowing for easy eating in a small slider. The patty is a little overcooked — I didn’t order so I’m not sure if you can make requests for the done-ness. * Chicken Sliders — 3 stars The breading wasn’t quite as crunchy as I’d hoped, and the meat wasn’t as moist as I’d hope.

Can’t go wrong with some sliders and a beer at Phil’s Sliders. This inexpensive place is perfect for getting your greasy grub on with their delicious sliders and cheesy potato tots. Definitely a good place if you want a quick bite.

I’ve had Phil’s Sliders to go and thought it was ‘okay’ — just not appetizing and major sog factor… Enjoyed Phil’s Sliders last night and dined in with some friends and it was yummy! Everything that needed to be crispy and hot, was just that when delivered to your table. To me, the draw is the fried chicken slider with their cole slaw along with their homemade tater tots. Crispy, soft inside and yummy
