North Beach Pizza

I’ve ordered delivery from these guys a couple times. Overall the food is pretty good, though a bit overpriced. They’ve gotten my order wrong twice though (out of 4 or 5). One time they forgot the salad, not a big deal. But the second time my 4 piece order of chicken strips was actually 3 chicken strips, but one was torn in half after going through the fryer –presumably to appear as 4 pieces. Hilarious, but not worth the money.

Good pizza w/​good service. Ordered cheese while my fiancé ordered combination of pepperoni, sausage, and mushroom. Definitely will come again

Pizza, Pasta… Everything is PERFECT! The wait is not long and the pizza is cheesy and crunchy. The Barbary coast remains my favourite!

This is always a very convenient spot for us whenever we are in the area. It never disappoints !
It may not have the best Italian food but it’s not bad either.
I always order their vegetarian pizza and a middle size is really Large in my standard.
The place is very cozy and perfect for hanging out with friends!
Service is good and the servers are courteous and friendly.
It also helps if they offer Unilocal specials!!!

My daughter and son in law brought me here for the first time and asked me to just try your pizza. So I did they are so right it was good. I’m glad we order the big one I had taken the rest home and ate it the next day of course Yummy.

Where to start… I absolutely love this place the environment the friendly staff and best of all the food! I always make sure I come here when I’m in the Bay Area absolutely love the pizza and the old style root beer Totally recommend this place to anyone and everyone :)

I love this Pizza. It always has the right balance of ingredients which makes the flavor pop! I also enjoy dinning in because the décor is interesting and fun to explore. Lots of unique pictures and signs. The service is good!

We had a medium half Verdi Special and Coit Tower on the stuffed crust… AMAZING!!! We expected cheese in the crust like Pizza Hut. not So! This is like a Chicago style pizza, just a little thinner and more tasty. Because the Pizza takes a little longer, we ordered a family size salad which was fresh with «homemade» ranch dressing… flavorful. All 3 of us have a hearty appetite and we weren’t sure about the medium size pizza because usually we’d finish an XL (our sons a football player) but stuffed crust is only made in smaller sizes. To our amazement we had 2 ½ slices left over. we were all stuffed. Service was friendly, cute atmosphere, Italian décor. We were visiting our son and will definitely be back!

Delivery pizza based on the hotel recommendation — pretty tasty veggie combo with artichokes as the special feature. Nice option for those that don’t like sauce but not exactly a bargain. There may be better places on University Ave. in Berkeley but this will do in a pinch…

North Beach Special deep dish stuffed pizza… nuff said LOL. You will have plenty of pizza to eat for a few days! I like the marina sauce used on the pizza. The hot wings were pretty good as well.

This place is great service great. I love the food. I oder to go food is hot and ready. Dine is service is great they treat you very well just found out about this little secret.

I live in an apartment building. Often the delivery guys don’t bother coming up to my actual apartment despite me giving them the door code and tipping 20%. I am supper happy to say that the guy who just dropped off my pizza went above and beyond! Not only did he come all the way up to my place, he did so after I entered a semi-​incorrect address!
My hat goes off to the kick-​ass delivery guy who just saved my lunch.
P. S. The pizza was great too :-)

Probably the worst… ever. Went in and wasn’t helped because a homeless man was having them fill up trash bottles with water (one at a time). Five minutes later he left, a few min after that and being talked about by the staff I was finally asked if I «needed something». When I asked for a table the waiter said «oh I’m sorry, I thought you were with him»
(Me) «The homeless man?»
(The waiter) «yea. Sit where ever u want»
I love being told I look homeless in a restaurant. As for the food it was just as good as the first time I made pasta myself from trader joes only this time I left still really hungry from the portion size and about twenty dollars poorer.

I’ve tried a lot of Pizzas, but North Beach Pizza is the best in my opinion! Their Pizza has a Real Italian Authentic Flavor that is Superb! Real Honest Mozzarella Cheese that stretches for miles! I love the way there’s a layer of pepperoni under the cheese & a layer on top! Yummy-​Yum-​Yum! They take the time out to make your pizza customized for the way you want it!

We love the old fashion rootbeer and their signature San Francisco special pizza (clam and garlic). Friendly and fast service with a family feel
Once inside it feels like you went back in time 1980ish
Very easy access since it is located on University Ave. with a big parking lot or street parking

North Beach Pizza is our family’s go to spot for birthday dinners and other special occasions. Besides the fact that it’s our favorite pizza, they always bring the birthday person a free slice of cake for dessert (Tiramisu anyone?)!
But seriously, their pizza is the best! Perfect crust and so cheesy, and very generous toppings. We also love the Caesar and Greek salads (the large salads are big enough for all four of us to split).
Personally, I love the atmosphere of this place and the booth seating. The interior feels like restaurants I went to as a kid in Philly. Even the music they play is from that era so it’s a total nostalgic experience for me.
All of the staff here has consistently been friendly, patient, and accommodating to us and our two kids. We’ve never had to wait for a table or felt rushed to clear out for the next customers. And they have a big lot with plenty of free off-​street parking.
Above all, we prefer to support local businesses so North Beach Pizza is a win-​win all the way around.

Not worth it! I could make better pasta at home. Very simple penne & mushrooms and spaghetti came out to $ 28 take-​out. Portions were small — if you’re going to charge this much for pasta, at least give more quantity. Even worse, the penne & mushrooms came with way too much sauce that was overly sour. Never coming here again.

This is an old time favorite of ours. It’s dive-​ie inside. Yet we have had great take away and eat in experiences here. We’ve tried the other sites and have had just as good at each location. I think North Beach tries to hold a standard when it comes to making their pizza’s.
Plenty of cheese, plenty of chicken. Not too much sauce. Crust is just right and not too thick.
I don’t have anything bad to say here. Prices are reasonable for the size pizza you get.

I like this place. The décor is classic for a dive eatery and the service was pretty great for 3pm on a Monday.
Now, the pizza. It was $ 22 and some change for a 14-​inch pie. This is a typical price for a local run business so I was not too shocked to see those numbers on the menu. Anyway, I got my pizza and took it back to my hotel and dove into it. I was not too impressed. Yes, it was a good pizza. Was it as good as it was made out to be? No.
I would eat here again but it would not be my first choice.

I love this place, I first came here on the recommendation of a coworker, and have been a regular ever since. They have a private parking lot with plenty of parking, it’s great to not have to pay to park on the street. The staff is warm and welcoming at the door and there is always plenty of seating (Wait Time: 5 – 10 min during peak hours). The pizza here is always delicious and filling, and made with top notch ingredients. The pizzas are kinda expensive here but that’s a minor issue that is easily overlooked by the fact that they have 5 star quality food. Also, the beer selection here is pretty decent (Pyramid, Lagunitas, Stella Artois…), Just come here for happy hour (M-​F 3pm-​7pm) and see for yourself.
