Red Tomato Pizza House

Called and placed order for delivery: person on the phone seemed a bit distracted but did their best to take my order correctly. I asked to make sure I would have change for $ 20 and they said they would but the driver said he didn’t. (apparently had to use al his change in the last transaction) so I was forced to leave him a tip bigger than I could afford. I was really annoyed because on top of him not having change apparently I was supposed to give him a coupon but I never told the person on the phone I had a coupon so he said in the end I would have been charged more anyway. He said there wasn’t anything he could do and really tried to be nice about it. It was my first time ordering from here. The pizza wasn’t as warm as I was expecting it to be and that wasn’t very nice but I just microwaved it. I ordered the sweet Hawaiian and it was pretty mediocre, I should have just gotten Domino’s. Three stars because horrible is too strong a word, and things like insufficient change and adding a coupon when I never said I had one could happen to any pizza person, right?

Pretty decent place to grab a little custom pizza (2 topping pizza and large soda with refills for $ 6) and get some studying done because they have wifi. The place is almost never crowded except on trivia night.
Also if you’re a hot sauce aficionado like me, they have a huge selection of hot sauces by the register, and spicy bbq sauces. They go pretty well with the pizza or a calzone!

Came here on a Wednesday afternoon at around 2.
Ended up getting a Hook and some wings. The wings were alright, not too bad. It was baked, but for some reason still VERY VERY oily. They tasted okay. Better with the ranch. Wings were not too shabby on price, about 4.25 for 6 wings.
The place itself is pretty empty with lots of seatings. It may be because of the time i went but still. It is good for groups of about 4 ish people.
The one thing I appreciated is the staff. They seemed very nice and accommodating. Allowed us to get the happy hour earlier, but it was simply 1 dollar off our order.
All in all, I don’t really have a desire to come back. Maybe I will to try the pizza.

Awesomely tasty vegan pizza.

Decided to give this place a try in the hustle and bustle of Berkeley. Ordered a mushroom deep dish personal pizza for pickup. It was done in about 15 minutes which was quite nice, and was a fair price.
The crust was pretty good, nice and doughy. However, the rest of it… All I can say is, who in their right mind puts a sharp cheddar cheese on a pizza by default?! It ruined the flavor by overpowering every other ingredient. Not sure if it’s a fluke, or their signature, but I was very dissatisfied. Shame considering everything else.

We ordered delivery. The person on the other end had trouble understanding my non-​native-​English friend over the phone. He became audibly frustrated and extremely rude. When I, a native speaker, spoke, he was still rude. Ironically, the problem was that the person was unaware of the custom pizza option we were ordering, and mistook that for mispronunciation.
The pizza was also totally average.

their gluten free pizza is the best I’ve ever had, and delivery was fast and easy. It is places like these that make me happy to live in Berkeley.

Two hour delivery time. They’re lucky, however, that the pizza is good. Red Tomato, come on. Small businesses can’t afford to gamble with customer satisfaction these days; speed it up if you want it. Not sure if I’ll be taking a gamble with you all again, despite the tastiness. The Bay Area is not at a loss of good pizza shops, after all…

Delivery took 2 hours. Then I received a burned pizza & burned cheese twists. They also put the ranch dipping sauce in the box of twists which made it hot. Not gonna order from here again. Smh THEY SUCK!

Omg. Fresh baked vegan pizza loaded with Dayia cheese on the most amazing chewy, bubbly crust. Yes. I love this place. Prices are good, service is good, pizza is outta control.

I have REALLY enjoyed the pizza (regular crust, white sauce, chicken and spinach)! YUM! I’ve only lived in the area @ 6 weeks and have already ordered three times. :-) I would have given 5 stars, but I haven’t had much luck with the wings even though I order them every time. This last time they were very mushy.
As a general statement to pizza establishments, please stop putting the ranch dressing inside the box with the wings/​hot food. It gets warm and ends up pouring out like water instead of creamy dressing.

I really want to give this place more stars. I actually like the pizza here. It’s not amazing, but it’s cheap and decent. I’d probably normally give this place four stars, but I had an unfortunate experience today. I put in an order for delivery through Unilocal,and they’ve always been quick to deliver to me in the past (I’m only a few blocks away). Today, though, I was waiting for over an hour when I called them to see what was up. They said that the delivery driver got there at four and then deliveries would start going out.
I put in my order at 2:45, and deliveries didn’t start until 4, and there was no indication at all from them that there would be a delay. Nothing on the Unilocal page or on Eat24, and while I don’t know how easy it is to update on the fly if there was an unusual delay, I’ve seen other restaurants do it, so I know it’s possible. At the very least, I should have received a courtesy call or text to let me know that it would be at least an hour and fifteen minutes until my order left, with a chance to cancel it.
It’s a first-​world problem, sure. I’ll still get my food and I’m not going to starve, but it’s definitely making it likely that I won’t order from them again.

Finally, a place that offers dairy free pizza (daiya)! They also have gluten free pizza! Definitely a plus for those who are allergic to dairy! Great tasting pizza too :)

Stuff yourself.
We come specifically to B for Red… and those ridiculous gourmet cinnamon buns a block away… well that’s another review.
Anyway we get the stuffed cheese garlic bread and the stuffed crust pizza with fresh mushroom and yummy olives. Both items vegan.
Same thing every time. We just can’t help it.
I’m pretty sure they use Teese cheeze but if they do use the horrible Daiya then they secretly sprinkle crack or something to it to make it the best stuffed crust ever. The cheese tastes like my firm mozz that I make at home.
We have never had a bad pie here. But we seriously eat a piece or two a get a to go box. Then we waddle away to those buns.
This stuff is super filling. Not thin but not thick! And big. Huge portions sizes seem large for the quality. Sauce is seasoned, fresh and flavorful.
I really wish we had a place even remotely on the same quality level as Red in Las Vegas.
Well maybe not because I would have a huge huge wheat belly: D oh well it would be worth it!

Cheap beer, Trivia, cheap food. Trifecta!

I’m from the east coast and this is some pretty lame pizza. First of all, my boyfriends beer was skunked.badly. we got the garlic cheese twists which weren’t bad but the pizza could have been cooked longer and the chicken was strange and not fresh. Not worth what we paid for or worth coming back.
Edit: we had horrrrriibbllleee stomach issues after eating here… don’t come here. Changing to 1 star!

So from my last review they sent out a bad pizza (freezer burn tasting pizza dough) right after I had complimented them for improving. :(
I took a 2 year break from Red Tomato because of the pizza. I figured since they were still in business things must be better.
Sadly no.
After ordering about 7 pizza’s this time around I’m done again. They are good about offering discounts/​credits for their mistakes, but seriously something being wrong almost every time due to poor execution or mindless mistakes is just crazy.
This last time is the deal breaker. I had a 20% discount due to the mistake they made on my last order. I planned to feed more people so I ordered an extra large pepperoni pizza with extra pepperoni and extra cheese. In my mind this pizza was going to be a hot, cheesy, gooey masterpiece.
IT WAS NOT!!!
They corrected their last mistake with another mistake by sending me a burned pizza. AN EXTRA LARGE, EXTRA CHEESE, EXTRA PEPPERONI BURNT PIZZA!
I AM SO DISAPPOINTED!!!
I didn’t even call to complain once again because seriously SERIOUSLY!!!
Red Tomato Pizza clearly does not care about me as a customer to send that pizza to my house.
Y’all suck!

Vegan everything? What what what YES. If they get vegan cream based sauces and desserts I’ll live in their roof. We got vegan stuffed crust pizza and cheesey sticks, oh MAN
It was amazing and SO FILLING.

Had some pizza w/​friends. It was excellent.
We had the Garlic Twists, Potator Skins and an All Meat Pizza.
Twists and Skins were decent enough, bu the Pizza was nom nom nom! If I’m in the area, I won’t hesitate to go there again.
