I am very happy, Adrianna color and styled my hair. She did an amazing job. I had been really struggling with frizzy hair. I can’t believe how soft my hair feels. Everyone has commented on how good my hair looks.

I’ve already written about how much I adore Kim and Keila. Now it’s time to sing Stephanie’s praises. I’ve been talking to Kim about getting a keratin straightening treatment for months. BUT I hate that flat as a pancake look, like hate. Stephanie to the rescue. I have curly, color treated, fine, frizzy hair that I blow dry and flat iron straight, taking approximately 35 mins. I ain’t got time for that daily! I decided to trust Stephanie and go for it. What was the worst that could happen? Pancake flat, straight frizz-​free hair? Boohoo. I’m pleased to report my hair is not flat. It takes 7 mins to blow dry and style and I have volume in the front and back — thanks to some great EVO products. No frizz, evening in foggy, drizzly, rainy weather. Stephanie is a doll; sweet, easy to talk to and a master at her craft. I think I might have to get this keratin straightening treatment for the rest of my life!

Adrianna is my stylist and she rocks! When I decided to add a purple streak to my hair, she did exactly what I wanted. It’s been over a year now and I’ve followed her from a salon here in Marin over the Richmond Bridge to the east bay because she’s that good with color and cut. The salon is very bright, nice and clean. The other customers and stylists are happy to be there, always a good sign in my book.

Bomi is the best! She has worked with Vidal Sassoon in New York and San Francisco, where I first started seeing her. I get compliments on her cuts all the time. It’s great to have a stylist with such exceptional training, skill, and professionalism in such a convenient location.

A spa day was gifted to me by my wife for my birthday this year and I have to say the ladies here took such great care of me, I have never had an experience like this and I’ll never go any place else. My appointment started with a facial done by Anna; when I arrived I was offered coffee, tea, or water. Then I was walked to a second waiting area where Anna greeted me warmly and asked me to fill out a description of what products I use on my skin and what results id like to see from the facial. Which was great. The facial was informative and relaxing. I decided to get my blackheads extracted and let me tell you the last time I had this done it was very painful but with Anna it didn’t hurt half as bad. Then I changed into a smock and was greeted by Stephanie who gave me a wonderful head and neck massage with my shampooing, she understood what I wanted to do with my hair even though I only had a few photos to show her. She also kept in mind my mornings are busy with commuting so the less i had to fuss with my hair the better. She was a great conversationalist even when the blow dryer was going. Haha. Everything was perfect and I felt taken care of and relaxed. Love the staff here. You’ve gained a lifetime customer.

I love this cute little salon. Had my first ever experience here with Stephanie. She is a sweetheart. She helped me correct years of coloring at home damage that had ruined my beautiful hair. She did a color correction for me. The new color I have. I love immensely. What makes me even happier is knowing in a few months I can go lighter in shade. Thw whole staff at this salon are great people. They give you such a warm inviting environment that makes you want to come back again. I will totally recommend this Salon to everyone.

I went in for a hair color, high lights and hair cut. The works lol. Adriana was amazing. I loved the finish. It was relaxing, I’m definitely going back.

Wonderful experience here. Best hair cut my 3 year old has gotten, better than the hair salons made for kids. They were great with kids and great with curly hair.

Scheduled an appointment that was pretty much last minute for an engagement photo session. The girls were sweet, attentive, and really captured the look I was going for. I highly recommend visiting this salon.

Today was my first visit to Modena, and I was very happy with the experience. The location is nice, with plenty of parking. As soon as I walked through the door, I was greeted pleasantly and provided with a drink. My appointment started right on schedule, and Adriana took the time to ask questions and really understand what I was looking for before she began. The result is a beautiful cut and color. I felt very comfortable with Adriana’s level of knowledge/​skill, and also really appreciated her fun, friendly personality, which made me feel very welcome. I will be back!

I went to Modena after not having my hair cut in years. Wow! What a lovely salon. So bright and clean. just a very relaxed place. I got a hair cut by Gena and had just a great experience with her. She gave me a wonderful cut. She listened to me and gave me some great suggestions. She really knows hair. I brought my 14 year old in and she left so happy and said it was the best haircut she ever had. I look forward to going back for color. Gena has a great personality and just a great vibe. I highly recommend her and this wonderful salon.

I was blessed with a halo of curly, frizzy, thick, unruly hair. I am also a pain in the butt because I refuse to embrace my blessings– I like it stick straight. For years I went to the same salon even though the prices kept going up and the results declined. I stuck with them because they were one of the few salon’s that could manage my hair texture and demands.
Until now. My coworker recommended this new salon in Albany on Solano Avenue after a frustrating experience at my standard spot. I decided to be brave and give them a try and I am so glad I did, totally impressed with my experience.
Kim gave me vibrant my color and texture, without frying my hair. Robert straightened it and gave it shine and bounce. Surprisingly their prices are totally reasonable. I’ve since been back for Robert’s blowouts– since he’s so good at getting it straight and shiny and my color touch-​up with Kim is booked.
Sometimes trying new things pays tenfold.

I’ve been coming to this salon since March of 2014. When I go there all the girls that work there are very sweet and welcoming when you come into the salon. They treat me very welcoming which is huge plus. Most salons where I use to go to they aren’t very friendly or don’t listen what you want and they don’t have good manners either. The prices to the salon are good price and not expensive at all. Most salons on solano are very priced. Here are the prices at the salon.

I would say this salon they are very welcoming. The girls that all work there are very sweet and loving!
When I go to the salon i especially get my hair done with is with Anastasia. She is really awesome and sweet. She listens to what you want for color, style and she also does amazing job on shampoo and blow drys that last for 4 – 5 days which pretty awesome! She is wonderful listener and gives you great ideas as well.
If you are looking for someone to do your make up for a special event Megan does amazing job on make up. She did my make up for Halloween as «Wonder Woman» and as well a fashion show. All the make up she uses is natural stuff most make up artist don’t use that kind of stuff. She is great at it! She is very sweet and cool.
Navita does a really amazing job on your eyebrows. I haven’t gotten waxed other areas with her just my eyebrows. She is very gentle when she waxs you which is huge plus. She is very kind and sweet. She does amazing job on my eyebrows that last me for a month or so. I don’t even feel the need to fill in my eyebrows when they are freshly done by her!
Vanessa and Kim are sisters. I would say they are very sweet are very welcoming. I would say this is the best salon I ever been to on solano. They are also good about calling you about your appointment and any other questions you have. They are also good at scheduling a next appointment you need with your stylist.
Modena salon is very well appointed and with great ambiance and music. They always offer you water or tea to drink, and magazines to browse. Parking is very convenient and free in many spots very close to the salon which is also located in an area with plenty of restaurants and shops.
This is such great salon i would suggest to anyone!

I can’t say enough about Kim and Navita! I hadn’t cut my hair since I was 13– yes I had a bad experience. So when i worked up the courage to chop off all my frayed dry hair without having a mental breakdown I knew I could put my full trust in Kim! She gave me a «lob» that I am obsessed with! So this is what it’s like to have healthy hair!
Navita is my eyebrow whisperer. I don’t even feel the need to fill in my eyebrows when they are freshly done by her! Quick, painless and never have been done better!

I am very, very, picky, about wanting my hair to look it’s best. Keila Norah, knows how to do my highlights, and base color, with exactly the right blonde brightness, not an easy task, with my naturally, brownish, graying hair. She has always been right on the mark, with the right solution! Not only is Keila Norah, an expert in her blonde highlighting/​coloring skills, she is very wise beyond her years. She has an ability to intuitively connect with her customer, and figure out just what is needed! She has huge talent, class, style, and sophistication, combined with great styling skills! You will leave the salon one very happy customer, wishing you had found Keila Norah, sooner!

I have gone to Kim for a little over a year (I followed her here from other salons). She is incredible! She listens to everything I want and makes sure my hair is exactly what I want! I am sure she thought I was crazy when I first met her with «I’m getting married in a year and this is what I want my hair to look like.» But after coming from a bad hair experience I wanted her to know I was very picky. That is also why I have waited a year to review Kim. I have not been disappointed. I had Kim do my hair for my wedding a few weeks ago. Not only did it look perfect when I left the salon, but it looked perfect at the end of the evening 8 hours later.
This new salon is in a great neighborhood with plenty of free parking (shocking in Berkeley). The ambiance is great! I love it.
