Interhigh is a new ministry, just started in Fall 2009. As a college mentor involved in this ministry and as a ex-youth kid myself who suffered through the consequences of church drama and politics, I have a heart for this ministry which seeks to gather young Christians from these small churches to give them training in worldview and apologetics(a sorely needed field of study for any Christian to defend their faith), like-minded peers, and college mentors. Interhigh tries its best to clarify that it is not out to take the youth kids from the churches, but rather provide a resource for the churches and to be a blessing to augment the programs and efforts of the youth pastors and churches involved. The mentors are open and inviting, the staff experienced and caring. Interhigh, being such a new ministry, is still working out kinks and refining its methods, but it has always been open to the concerns of parents and pastors. It has received endorsements from Chuck Cholson and William Lane Craig, and had Sean McDowell speak at it’s kick-off event, Rise. The entire ministry is free of charge and welcomes kids from anywhere.
