This place gives a great impression when you walk in. The shop is clean, colorful and has a nice boutique feel. Most of their associates are friendly and helpful. However, this is where the positives end for me. The few things I have purchased have broken or torn almost instantly. My experience is not an individual one, as my coworker purchased pants there and had them tear on her twice(this after returning them once for tearing, they tore again). Bottomline: if you want quality items, this is NOT the place.

I love this shop! It might be my favorite shop in downtown Berkeley as there are not many cute shops in this area. Not only do they have really nice clothes, but also jewelry, stationary stuff, home goods… A lot of interesting little things! I just bought these cat magnets for one of my friends. I really wanted to write this review to talk about the staff. The girl who was working there was super nice since the moment I went into the shop. I told her the kind of gift I needed and she helped me bringing a lot of nice and presents that my friend might like. After that she made a pleasant conversation while she rang up my item. I came out of the shop with a big smile and really satisfied with purchase. I think every shop needs nice, helpful and knowledgable staff like Francesca’s :)

Apart from the fact that this store has a great selection of cute jewelry, clothing, and home goods, my recent experience at this store was nothing but positive. I highly recommend the staff at this store who had demonstrated a level of customer service that is hard to come by these days. They assisted me with phone orders and contacting other stores in the area to find the products that I had requested(I needed 5 matching necklaces for my bridesmaids). I truly appreciate the time and effort that they put into making sure that I could obtain my items, and would definitely visit again.

When I was on my way to get boba at Tea Express next door, I was pleasantly surprised to find that Francesca’s had found its way to this location. It seems like businesses are in and out of this storefront, but I think this is a great store that will stick around for a while. My only concern is for the competition from Bancroft Clothing and Urban Outfitters up the street. I suppose Francesca’s is a bit more classy and girly than the other two, so it’s perfect for all of the sorority invites and formal occasions at Cal. This store is just like many others in the chain, but I really liked the layout with fun jewelry right when you walk in. The wooden floors and warm lighting make it a comfortable place to shop and I really wanted to stay there and keep shopping. I also really liked the cute wooden poster boards hanging near the door and behind the cashier. They have cute sayings, such as «You are my sunshine, my only sunshine» and many others. It was also very convenient that the cashier didn’t heckle me about my iced coffee. Some shops have a strict no food or drinks policy, so I was nervous about walking in, but it was a relief that I was able to just browse without being bothered. I also love how friendly the cashiers are, welcoming you as soon as you come in. It’s a pretty standard practice, but I always feel like the people who work at Francesca’s are actually being genuine. Overall, I’m super excited that they now have a Berkeley location, and I only wish they had opened when I was still in school. Happy shopping!
