The best pizza there is; they never disappoint. Great customer service and even better pizza. Totally worth waiting in line for every time. That’s all I can say.

Hands down my favorite pizza place in the West(&best) coast and definitely one of my favorite places to eat in general. Discovered this gem while I was a student at Cal and I keep coming back whenever I visit after I graduated. Don’t let the long line intimidate you, it goes by really fast since they only serve one special pizza each day. My favorite is the potato pizza and my second favorite is the corn pizza with a squeeze of lime but everything I’ve tried here so far has been delicious. I’m just drooling as I’m typing this out. ~$ 20 for one whole pie, not as cheap as Domino’s but it’s good quality pizza that’s worth every single penny. The restaurant has been renovated to include a gorgeous outdoor seating area, perfect for a sunny day.

Awesome pizzas! Love the live music and the fresh hot pizza’s. I’m a sucker for gourmet pizzas and when we found this place on Unilocal, had to definitely give it a try. We reached there a little before their opening time at around 4.15 and that very moment the queue started to build up. By 4.30 there was already a quarter mile long queue. Lol! I’m glad we reached early and were at the beginning of the queue. I was floored by the ambience and the yummy pizza! Have tried a few of them. Never been disappointed.

I used to come to Berkeley a lot, but never got a chance to grab a pizza. Whenever my brother visited Berkeley, I begged him to get me a slice. He never did. After all this time, I finally ate here. The line was long, but that didn’t deter me. It went by quickly. There’s only one kind of pizza(vegetarian) each day, which helps speed up the process of ordering. I couldn’t just get a slice, so I ordered half a pie(4 slices). It came with two smaller bonus slices. Yum! The crust was thin and crispy. The pizza is flavorful and made fresh daily. When I dunked it into the green sauce, it elevated the pizza even more. Is it the best pizza I’ve had? I think so!

What a place!!! I’ve been here several times and I’ve loved the pizza every single time. The menu changes daily and there’s only one kind each day. Always vegetarian. Their dough is thin and with a crispy crust. Don’t worry about the long line, it passes fast! It’s almost always live music. The atmosphere is very lively and laid back. Sometimes the music is too loud and sometimes there’s too much garlic, but other than that this place is really really great! Bring your friends and have a lovely time: D

Can’t go wrong with cheeseboard! The dough is chewy and thin which I love it so much. I wasn’t a fan of their green sauce, it got green pepper taste. Keep in mind this is a vegetarian style pizza. Awesome service. After pizza, walk to next door get some bakery.

Fabulous pizza! A true Berkeley experience too. One stands in this line which moves very quickly for the pizza of the day. It’s always vegetarian so everyone is satisfied. I’ve seen people eat their meal sitting on the divider strip in the middle of the street. So cool! I’m hooked and will certainly be back for more!

Super fast and delicious! Not much room to sit to eat, but you’ll be in good company if you decide to plop down along the street and enjoy your pizza. We had ours in front of Bank of the West and saw several others sitting along the sidewalk dining«al fresco». It was fun!

Barely 4 stars as the pizza was okay but not the best margarita pizza I’ve had. $ 22 for the pie. Lots of olive oil which I liked but the pizza didn’t have that burnt wood oven taste that I’ve come to expect with a great pizza. Nice band playing here and fun ambience.

Seriously one of the best pizza I’ve had in my life, for such a cheap price too!!! I can see that not everyone will appreciate this style of pizza, but I do believe everyone should try it. The dough is chewy and thin, with the right amount of crisp. The cheese is not very stringy or gooey, but so so so rich and moist? I don’t know it’s hard to describe but you’ll just have to try it. As everyone says, the line can be long but it goes by so quickly you won’t even notice! They have one flavor a day so just decide if you want 1 slice, 4 slices(half pizza), or 8 slices(whole pizza). Overall such a great experience! Can’t wait to come back and try more flavors.(I’m gonna bother all my Berkeley friends sorry guys). @sophie hmu

Do you remember the scene in Inside Out where Riley first moves to San Francisco and her and her mom go to get pizza? Anger screams out in frustration«CONGRATULATIONS, SANFRANCISCO. YOUMANAGEDTORUINPIZZA!» Yeah, this is basically that place. Except I don’t think only having one type of pizza ruins pizza, nor does having an absurd amount of vegetables or other toppings on it. I think that it speeds up the ridiculous line outside this place and it also helps to ensure that if you can, you will come back. I think the pizza that I had on the day I was here(tomato, red onion, mozzarella, garlic, olive oil, parsley, oregano) was a 3.5-star pizza. However, I’m willing to round it up and give them a bonus because all of the cheeses that they used were super fresh(and made next door!) Also at $ 2.75 a slice, plus the slivers that they give you, it’s a steal for an area that traditionally has very expensive food. Try this place out if you’re ever in Berkeley! Don’t let Anger from Inside Out discourage you.

Yes, that really long line you see on Shattuck does, in fact, belong to Cheese Board and yes it is worth it to wait! If you watched the movie Inside Out, you might remember Anger saying, «CONGRATULATIONS, SANFRANCISCO. YOURUINEDPIZZA!», referring to pizza places in the Bay Area that serve only one flavor of vegetarian pizza a day. Cheese Board is one of these kinds of places and I say HELL I think we need more of these places! Cheese Board is probably the most popular one of all and I do think it’s worth the hype. If you’re looking to compare this place to its fellow Berkeley competitor, Sliver, then just know that this place is better lol. The crust here isn’t as weirdly hard as Sliver. The cheese is crispy yet stringy, the ingredients are fresh, and that green sauce is bomb. They’ll also give you extra little slivers of pizza! My biggest issue with this place is that the pizza can be straight up OILY sometimes, not only on the top but on the bottom as well. Not a terrible issue, that happens with most pizza anyways haha. Don’t be intimidated by the crazy long line, it’ll go by fast!

It’s time to pop that East Bay review cherry. First up to bat is my recent experience at Cheese Board Pizza, truly a unique, mystifying, and delicious experience. We initially showed up early morning for pastries and coffee at Cheese Board Bakery and snagged a seat on the Gourmet Ghetto boardwalk, which is apparently prime real estate once lunch rolls around. Two hours of milling out and about did a number on our noses, as the fresh smell of pizza wafted in the air. Cheese Board’s pizza joint doesn’t open for lunch until 11:30, but at some point, we determined to stick it out. At around 11, a particularly enthusiastic family showed up and started taking pictures of the menu board. We looked back at around 11:20 and that family had first dibs in a very long line. We ended up around 30th or so, but the rope-a-dope line moves fairly quickly once doors open. There’s one — one! — type of pizza offered, by the slice, half-pie, or full pie. Well I guess maybe there’s two types, as you can get it vegan(sans cheese?) as well. So hopefully they’re offering up something tasty and delicious that day. Our day was pretty standard. I didn’t write it down, but I think it was roma tomatoes, roasted garlic, cilantro. Apparently some days can get kind of crazy. The pizza is very good with a hard to define genre. I mean, I want to say it most resembles DiGiorno, but in a good way? The crust is thin, firm, almost barky in an afternoon baguette type of way. The cheese is bubbled and burnt, almost pastry-like without a lot of pull. I guess you can call it Cheese Board-style, and it works. A whole pizza doesn’t look like a lot for two to put away, but because of the characteristics above, it offers some heft. If you’re looking to dine in, the double-down of the morning bakery and mid-morning pizza is a pretty good strategy to get good seating and a full stomach. If you’re on the run, there’s premade pizzas ready to bake offered at the bakery, which is a great option two.

Vegetarian pizza, eh? When I got my piping hot pie, I thought to myself.“what’s so impressive about this un-risen piece of dough?” I personally prefer deep dish so extra crust and extra carb so I was not impressed. But, as I was into my second slice, I could see the hype: *Unique preparation: It’s like crème brûlée but instead of caramelizing sugar, it’s cheese. Under the cheese brulee, there are pieces of goodness embedded. *Flavor: If you breakdown the pizza itself, it’s actually pretty complex in flavor. I really enjoyed the tangy notes from the lemon zest — I’ve never had anything like this on a pizza *GREENSAUCE: This alone is worth 5 stars. I’m not exactly sure what it is but it’s like a really, really spicy pesto. I don’t know what kind of flavor magic happens but it somehow goes perfectly with the flavors of the pizza. *Taste: While I’m not from the bay or Berkeley, if I were to choose a food that represented/encapsulated Berkeley’s vibes, it’d be Cheese Board pizza. I will say that the huge line is daunting but I promise it moves quickly. With all the above factors considered, it makes cheese board very unique and definitely worth a try!

Cheese Board is a Berkeley institution. It’s a Bay Area institution. It is something you absolutely have to do if you’re a Bay Area native or in the East Bay — especially if you’re a vegetarian. This is your dream come true. Okay here are the highlights: 1. You absolutely must come here. As a(Californian) New Yorker, this pizza is one of a kind. In the midst of the NY slices, I still think about Cheese Board. 2. Everything is quality. It’s a pizza that makes you feel good while you eat it. The ingredients are top notch and that’s apparent in the taste. 3. Check the menu and hours prior to heading over. I’ve gotten caught right before closing or gone on a day when the pizza wasn’t my ideal. 4. The staff is among the world’s friendliest. This is one of those places that gives you random cravings. The flavors are so unique and the pizza is consistently well done(which is more than 85% of places in NYC). Cheese board, come visit me in New York please. I miss you.

If I lived in Berkeley I would go here everyday just to try their different pizzas that vary each day! Having just one specific pizza is really smart and makes service super fast and efficient. I came on a Thursday night around dinner time, 6:30PM. The line was already around the corner of the block, so popular! Waiting was not a big deal at all, and I probably waited for less than half an hour. I ordered at the counter for a whole pizza($ 20+tax), and the cashier gave us a box with the pizza inside super fast. My friends and I got lucky cause we found a table to sit at after we got our pizza! There’s live music too which makes the ambiance so relaxing and enjoyable. Pizza: that day there’s pesto sauce on it, potatoes, cheese, and probably other toppings. It’s delicious!!! I read an article online how this is one of the top pizza places in the bay area, no lie about that. I love this place! There’s also a green salsa sauce provided to add on the pizza, it’s mild spicy and does give yummy extra flavor! I can’t wait to go back here and try a different pizza.

With all the fuss about cheeseboard and the fact that it was #2 on Unilocal top 100 list, I had to come check it out for myself! The concept is interesting since they only make one type of pizza a day, which is good since it makes deciding what to get much easier, you just have to decide how much to order! The pizza itself is very good with a thin crust that’s baked to perfection and the cheese is very savory as well. What’s really interesting is that all their creations are vegetarian and start at 2.50 a slice, $ 10 for half a pizza and $ 20 for a whole. The pizza I got was a California asparagus with a ton of arugula on top, which is something I would never order myself but it was surprisingly good. And don’t forget the green spicy sauce, it’s on point! I came by on a Saturday for lunch around 1pm and the wait in line was a very reasonable 10 – 15 minutes. The amount of seating they offer isn’t that much but they have a few benches and tables where you can eat while standing outdoors. The jazz band that plays gives this place an awesome vibe.

Pizza of the day was crimini mushrooms with mozzarella, goat cheese, toasted garlic, garlic olive oil, parsley, and oregano. I looooove mushroom pizza, and this was a super flavorful upgrade from the mushroom pizzas from chain pizza stores. The crust is thin, with a crispy bottom and chewy interior. which is just the way I like it: D There’s a line outside, but it goes by super fast. We were handed our slices as soon as we finished paying. There was also a live band to listen to as we waited! The slices are pretty small, especially since it’s thin crust, although they are nice enough to include a mini slice. If you’re hungry I’d def recommend getting a whole pizza, otherwise a slice makes a great snack: D

The pizza is absolutely drool-worthy. Contrary to what«Inside Out» might have us believe, the Bay Area has not ruined pizza, because Cheese Board’s ingredients are mouth-wateringly fresh and their atmosphere charming and welcoming. You may be standing on the curb, you may be sitting inside, but you’ll be scoffing down pizza and listening to their musicians(which change daily!) all the same.

Came by for a snack the other day and was surprised at the line out the door. There were folks asking the queue to sign a petition to raise the minimum wage in Berkeley?!? It appears that Cheese Board is employee owned and operated. They seem to feature only one type of pizza a day. $ 2.5 for a slice of vegetarian pizza. It was okay… They seem to have a habit to give an extra small slide with every order. …not quite sure if I understand the hype… The folks in the queue were bizarre to say the least… the dude behind me was carrying a huge black box as a backpack?!? …while his buddy was carrying a doggy bag that kept on hitting me while in line?!?

While driving through north Berkeley yesterday saw the long line. Going past today the line didn’t look as bad. We were convinced by a nice young lady to wait out the line it moves fast. The reason is they pick a flavor of the day and that’s the only pizza you can get. Sweet potato on pizza? I was extremely skeptical. She said trust me what ever it is it will be amazing trust me. Ate alfresco style right out front while a jazz quartet jammed in a corner inside of the open air bistro. The cheese crust was as our friend explained was worth the wait. I am now in love with this place.2 things I love, good pizza and live jazz!

How have I not reviewed this yet? The hype is real. Get in line, it moves quickly, because you really don’t have too many choices here besides how many slices or parts of a pie you really want. Tip: get a whole pie. Get the box. Take it home if you can’t finish it. Also, check what the pizza is before going. You may end up with some pear and nut combo that you may not like. Personally the cheese(hence cheese board) is what kills it and makes the pizza so bomb. It’s light on the dough(and wallet too) so you can scarf down slice upon slice of what they have. Personally, I choose to come on a meat or corn day. They are rare, but they are the best. Also, seriously enjoy the ambiance. There is usually LIVE jazz music with a small trio or so that really makes the experience memorable. I’m a huge jazz fan and they really do get solid talent to play while you wait for your pie. Oh, and the kicker. Green hot sauce. I used to fill containers of them, but they’ve gotten smarter and now sell you a larger container of it, but really if you’re going to sit down just grab a bottle and use it to your delight on your slice, it makes it that much better. As a New Haven pizza elite(haha, but really I think I know my pizza …), I have to say Cheeseboard is one of my go to locations for a solid slice of pizza.

So the way that The Cheese Board works is that each day they only produce one type of pizza and one kind of salad. As soon as we arrived, there was a long line out the door(which apparently is very common, but don’t be afraid). Remember how I told you they only offer the Pizza of the Day? Well, because of this factor, the line to pay goes by very quickly! Now let’s talk about the pizza. I can’t predict what the daily special will be when you go, but mine had pesto with mozzarella, provolone, ricotta, and Parmesan cheese. One thing that is really awesome about the Cheese Board is that they try to use local produce that’s also in season, which means you’re always in for a fresh, new surprise. Another tip I’d like to add is to get the green spicy sauce too! It’s great for dipping your crust into…

This is the best pizza in the Bay Area! If I were to get to choose a last meal, it would definitely be the Pizza of the Day from Cheeseboard… well, assuming it didn’t have mushrooms or olives. I usually don’t enjoy pizza crust, but I never leave any traces behind when I get my hands on a Cheeseboard pizza. Pair it with a bottle of ginger beer and you have heaven on earth. As has been mentioned elsewhere, there is a(vegetarian) Pizza of the Day and that is the only pizza made each day. You can buy the pizza by the slice, half pie or full pie. Bonus: if you order a full pie, you get two extra slices! The staff here are really working their butts off to pump out pizza after pizza, but even so, the line at this place can snake down the street and around the corner. Peak times are weekday evenings and weekend afternoons. Be prepared for a decent wait in that case, but it will definitely be worth it. There is some seating inside and on the sidewalk, but it is extremely hard to come by a peak hours. You’ll also probably notice the ritual of people eating their pizza on the grass in the street median in front of the place. I can’t imagine how that could be a good dining experience with car exhaust spewing in your face, but, hey, it’s Berkeley I guess. In any case, why are you still reading this review? Go makes plans to get some pizza from this place!

Their pizza tastes very fresh. It’s definitely not your classic pizza place, but that’s not why people come here. I usually get the pizza to go and find a park somewhere(Live Oak or the Rose Garden or something), but it’s best to eat it there while it’s still hot. They offer plenty of water(you don’t have to ask for it). There is also a gender-neutral bathroom stall. I’ve never had a bad experience with the staff. I only wish they had more seating and that their space were bigger, because the vibe is so great there. Love it!

The vegetarian options here are more hit or miss than Sliver and the pizza that I’ve eaten here is usually more burnt or oily. Also there is usually a longer wait here than sliver, and I wouldn’t wait more than 20 minutes for the product here. I went to Cheese Board Pizza after getting out of a concert in Berkeley. From the outside, the scent of pizza mixed with the scent of marijuana was enough to lure me in, so I decided to try it. When we got to the door, I was disappointed to learn that Cheese Board offers only one set of toppings per day, so that means if you don’t like what’s on the pizza that day, tough nuggets. The pizza of the day was called«4 Cheese Pie: Mozzarella, Fresh Asiago, Parmesan, and Blue Cheeses, with Red, Yellow, and Green Onions, Basil, Garlic Olive Oil.» It had a fairly thin crust, not too much cheese, and a very finely chopped set of toppings. I should admit that I am not a fan of Blue Cheese, but the fact that these were very finely chopped made them very easy to eat. The flavor of the pizza was quite strong, but generally well cooked and put together. I would have liked a more traditional set of toppings, but I still think Cheeseboard is very good, and the fact that the pizza changes daily is a great thing for the locals. The service was also very fast and very friendly. Overall, it’s definitely worth a visit if you are in town. Just hope the pizza of the day is one that you like!

What more can I say… I’ve been to Cheese Board a handful of times, each time expecting it to not amaze quite as much as the previous times — and each time it finds a way to raise the bar and produce an even fonder memory of the experience. This past time I brought two friends who scoffed at the idea of a meatless pizza — and they were quickly turned into believers(Beliebers?). Of course, one made the rookie mistake of not applying the green cilantro/serrano sauce onto the slices — and he still loved it. Once he got a taste of that extra special green stuff though, he was forever a fan. I always enjoy the live jazz/reggae/Berkeley music and don’t even mind the line that always moves quickly. The extra two slivers(pun intended) on top of the whole pizza are a nice touch every time. Also, where else can you get bottles of Sculpin IPA for just $ 3?!? Love ya, CB!

With the addition of a vegan option, I finally had a reason to visit The Cheese Board, a cool little co-op collective that specifically caters to vegetarian needs. I love that they are using The Butcher’s Son vegan mozzarella. It is absolutely fantastic! Mind-blowingly good. Visually, it has an uncanny resemblance to dairy cheese and that incredible melt. Just looking at the pizza, it has that«wow» factor(see attached photo… looks good right?!). The crust is damn near perfection. Buttery and golden brown, crisp(not burnt), chewy without being tough. I don’t think there is a better pizza crust anywhere in Berkeley. You can go ahead and quote me on that. Now I see what the long line is all about. It’s worth the wait! The service was super speedy and kind. My first time in, and the cashier made me feel welcome and didn’t make a weird face when I asked for a vegan pizza. It’s those little things that make a customer feel like they are in a safe environment. The price point is right on the money. It’s just $ 24(plus tax) for a full vegan pizza, about 6 – 8 slices, a steal for such a yummy meal. It can easily be shared with several people, depending on how hungry you are. My friend Cheryl D. and I split one, and it was more than enough food for hearty appetites like mine. Thank you, Cheese Board, for making my dairy-free pizza dreams come true! I have been craving delicious plant-based pizza, but have not found anywhere that satiates my needs(other than Plant Based Pizza in San Jose, my number one favorite). Whenever I’ve come to Cheeseboard, I always end up waiting in line. This is arguably one the most popular places in Berkeley, and is one the most«berkeley-esque» places, therefore you’ll find this place on the bucket list of many students. The food: There are a couple of linked restaurants in this collective– so if you’ve been to Arizmendi’s, this place has a similar vibe, and a similar set of wonderful staff! They only have one pizza for the day, but I’ve never had a bad pizza from Cheeseboard. The pizza is always fresh, vegetarian, and tasty. The last time I came here, I had the Cremini mushroom, onion, mozzarella, Moliterno truffle pecorino, arugula in a lemon vinaigrette – and it was delicious. The curst is thin and the topping combinations are unique. Cheeseboard is a great savory delight. Also – get the green sauce – it adds a nice spicy kick! The atmosphere: While the wait is probably long, you won’t be bored. Cheeseboard attracts all kinds of characters and you’ll find ways to entertain yourself in line. and it goes by fairly quickly. Also, make sure you check the hours before you come here – it does close fairly early. There’s actually no where to sit, but you can under the median(i think there’s a sign that says not to sit there though…) Recommendations: The pizza of the day and grabbing a box and sharing with friends.

It’s pretty awesome that Cheese Board Pizza now offers a vegan option featuring The Butcher’s Son fresh mozzarella. The Butcher’s Son is a vegan deli that will open up on University Ave in Berkeley very soon. The downside is that Cheese Board only offers the vegan option as a whole pie, not slices. So you have to order the vegan pie at the front then get in line to pay. Last week I tried the vegan pie for the first time. The pizza of the day was vegan cheese, roasted eggplant, fried spiced chickpeas, parsley and mint. Totally not your typical marinara-type pizza but it tasted amazing! The vegan mozzarella melted perfectly and tasted so delicious. Totally worth it to get the whole pie! I highly recommend going and trying the vegan pie!

The hype is real. This place is outstanding and a must try when you come to Berkeley. The idea is that there is one pizza of the day and one salad of the day. The pizza is always vegetarian, but it is unlike any vegetarian pizza you will ever have. I forget exactly what kind of pizza I had, but it really doesn’t matter; they are all good. It’s important to note, however, that the pizzas aren’t really like New York– or Neapolitan-style pizzas. It’s definitely a thin crust, but kind of like a sourdough thin crust. Words can’t really describe it, so I guess you will just have come here and try it for yourself. Closed on Sundays and Mondays.

Always a fan of their pizza. This is a vegetarian pizza shop that offers a wide variety of pizza flavors. They are definitely known for the different types of cheese and I must say, each one is very distinct and flavorful. The prices are very affordable and for every slice they give you, they give you a «small» slice with it, so essentially you pay for 1.5 slices. Overall, it is a great place for someone who is vegetarian to try. They utilize seasonal veggies for their daily pizzas and the flavors never disappoint. Parking can be difficult since it is on Shattuck. Best to come early as it typically gets busy around dinner time 5−7ish is when it is the busiest! Sometimes the line can go all the way toward the end of the block. Definitely want to come early. Also, their house made sauce is the best! Must pair it with your pizza. Definitely a must try :)

Don’t be intimidated by the long line, it’s quick moving because there is only one vegetarian pizza option each day. They use fresh local veggies and cheeses, and at $ 10/half pizza or $ 20/whole pizza, it’s affordable. The real highlight for me though is their ‘green sauce,’ which is spicy and loaded with garlic(similar to a pesto?). Like the changing pizza/salad/dessert flavors, they also have live music at lunch and dinner. It’s a great open space, with big windows and outdoor seating(so feel free to bring your well behaved dog). Great date night, or group excursion. This place is employee owned, and a must-visit Berkeley gem. Check out their menu online, and be mindful that they close by 8pm and all day sunday.

After experiencing the Cheeseboard, all I have to say is this: The hype is real, and this place rocks. Aside from incredible pizza, I like that this place runs on some key concepts: — Efficiency: Order first, get your pizza — Mass production: One type of darn good pizza per day, because beggars can’t be choosers — «And one»: They throw in an extra little slice of pizza to every order, because we always want an extra bite of heaven — No animals harmed here: All their pizzas are vegetarian. But trust me, it’s so good that you won’t even know there’s no meat in any of their pizzas. — Local and farm fresh: quality of ingredients in their cheese and toppings makes this place rock! The day we came in, the pizza of the day was butternut squash, baby kale, mozzarella and Spanish goat cheese, sage oil, and fresh herbs. They made it work with the butternut squash. Who woulda known pizza could taste so good with… squash?!! Kale was crispy and provided the right texture and balance. The cheese was my favorite. How is this vegetarian and so damn good?! I don’t know, but this is definitely my top 3 pizzas.

My favorite pizza place in the Bay Area… and it’s vegetarian! I often worry about my carnivore boyfriend, but he loves it just as much as I do. Pizza: Vegetarian only. Ingredients are fresh, delicious and of high quality. Pizza crust is thin, crispy and very filling. Whomever comes up with these pizza combos is a genius, seriously. I’ve looked at the menu sometimes and questioned it, but after eating it, I’m in complete awe at how delicious everything tastes. Everything is tasty and savory. I like that they’re able to throw a bunch of stuff together and create an exuberance of flavors! Kudos to the Cheeseboard Pizza Gods that put these things together! Ambiance: The experience is great because not only is the pizza amazing, but they always have live music and a relaxing/laid-back ambiance. Service: The line is always out the door, but they’re fast and efficient. Very friendly folks and they always thrown in a few extra slices. Price: Extremely affordable! About $ 20 for an entire box + extras. Easily feeds 2 – 3 people depending on how hungry you are. My boyfriend and I usually have about 2 slices leftover. You get high quality, nourishing, delicious and large portioned pizza… the price is always right! Overall: Cheeseboard makes me want to go vegetarian. I’m not kidding. From quality/taste to the price… they never cease to amaze me. Tip: Green pesto sauce is a must!

Perhaps the best pizza I have ever had! I needed to try this uptown Berkeley spot after it made a top 100 pizzas in the nation list… it certainly did not disappoint! The atmosphere was palpable with live Jazz and a line out the door and around the corner… The pizza boasted the perfect crust that was crispy yet chewy. It would be difficult to describe the odd mix of vegetarian flavors, including feta cheese and lemon zest, but somehow the flavors flowed together for an incredible symphony that can only be described as: the… best…pizza…ever! PS do not forget to try their awesome Serrano pesto sauce to dip the pizza in.

Wait I just read in a past comment that this pizzeria was the inspiration behind the pizza comment in Inside Out?! Nooooo wayyyyyy AWESOMEEEEE That being said, I had this random craving for artichokes and I was happy to see that the pizza of the day had artichokes! I normally hate olives, but I was able to get through the pizza just fine. They have this incredible green cilantro sauce that is to die for. Loved dipping my crust into it. The pizza was thin(not super thin) and had a nice crunch to it. You can buy by the slice or just get an entire pizza to share. I recommend the latter(hint: they sometimes throw in extra slices to the box). Also a great atmosphere! A live band playing, everyone and their kids and dogs were eating outside, and everyone seemed very happy. Felt a lot of positive energy from this restaurant :) Another little thing I noticed that I loved was that they separated all the recycling! There are crates scattered around for glass bottles, racks specifically for recycling pizza boxes, and trash bins for… well trash. It’s nice to see a restaurant practice green behavior. You can check online for what they’re serving every day for the week. Or just go blindly! You won’t be disappointed either way.

I stopped in and spoke to the nicest guy, Orlando, and simply said, «I need something nice to start the meal of right and impress the host.». Orlando immediately had me sampling some delicious cheeses. He listened thoughtfully and sliced perfectly proportioned pieces so we could enjoy a little of several varieties. I was very impressed with the selection, the service and the price. And don’t forget to try the pecan rolls, the wolverine roll, the gruyère cheese roll… Ok, everything is good here. Eat and repeat often!!!
