I am so grateful to have found Aviva’s Forrest Yoga Class at Leela Yoga in Alameda. This is the first time I have committed to a regular yoga practice after years of trying. Aviva brings a wealth of knowledge and an intuitive presence to her classes, creating a space that is inclusive, caring, and playful. Her Wisdom of the Psoas workshop opened my hips and my whole body in ways that surprised and delighted me! I leave Aviva’s classes feeling deeply connected to myself, inspired and strong.

Aviva was an assistant in the first Forrest classes I took and she gave me amazing advice, adjustments to posture and wonderful healing energy. And I’ve had a couple of private yoga sessions with her that were excellent. She’s such an interesting blend of casual and precise! However, I just took the Thanksgiving workshop she co-taught with Marisha Doan and another class she taught alone and both were excellent. Her teaching style is warm, real, humorous, organized and encouraging. The sequencing for the Thanksgiving workshop was particularly superb, with a flow from one posture to another that felt perfect for my body. Highly recommended.

I take Aviva’s Forrest Yoga classes regularly, and I love her pacing and thorough knowledge. She is able to have her classes work for practitioners of all levels. Her teaching comes out of a very strong personal connection to Forrest Yoga in particular. I feel great after class. I am more mindfully connected to my body and ready to engage my day.

Aviva is a fellow Forrest Yoga teacher that I met just after she’d finished doing her teacher training. I had her sub one of my yoga classes soon after and my students quite liked her. But when I took a class from Aviva the other day, that’s when I really knew I had good taste in my choice of substitutes. I’ve been having all kinds of intermittent, but often quite intense hip pain, so I’ve been cautiously trying to do as much yoga as I can to help it. Aviva gave me some amazing adjustments. I can’t tell you what she did. I can only tell you that this was a couple of days ago and my hip has yet to be in pain. Aviva is teaching more classes in the east bay these days, so clearly I’m not the only one who’s recognizing her talented hands. As Tim Gunn might say, «Go, go, go».
