Hanmer’s Riverside Resort

Cabins were clean. That’s the only good thing I can say about this place. Owner/​staff is bigoted, rude and dishonest. My grandchildren (ages 2,5 &8) and I stayed there in cabin #7 which shares a common wall with #8. Our neighbors in #8 were 3 young men on a local work crew. They had to be up every morning by 5:30am. Owner did not notify them about us coming, thereby giving them a chance to seek alternate accommodations, nor did they notify me so I could be careful to be a little more considerate although quiet time doesn’t start until 10pm. Which, for any of you who has had to get up by 5:30am knows, is way late to be woken up. Not only that but when the neighbors complained (before quiet time, at 9:15pm) she came to MY cabin to tell ME to keep it down. Seriously? So, would I recommend this place? ABSOLUTELY NOT. Especially if you have young children. Also, the pics you see online of the people sitting right there on the river? Staged. You can’t even get to the river without climbing down a flight of stairs. BTW, the only reason I gave them one star was because I couldn’t post this if I didn’t.
