Nice new place on the creek. Outdoor seating with umbrella’s. Beautiful day yesterday decided to check it out. Sat on the deck. The waitress was attentive and came over just at the right time. We split the starter, crab spinach avocado dip with chips. Very good. I had the King lobster(the name of the dish) wife had the salad with chicken. No complaints from the wife. My lobster was far from king it was about two ounces if that with a tablespoon full of deviled crab. The potatoes were bland and dry, the vegetable’s were very small and tasteless. A salad came with the lobster. I call it a miniature salad. The King lobster $ 19 don’t bother. Don’t think we’ll be back.

If I could include a picture it would be that of the horrible unprofessional responses High Tides has to customers that put accurate poor reviews in their FB reviews. Rather than address the problem, attempt to fix the problem, they blame the local competition for their low ratings. I highly suggest you go to their page and see the additional reviews there before making you decision to waste your time and money here. The service is awful. The management, even when requested by the guest, frequently refuses to come to the table. Long wait times, mediocre(over priced) food… Found a way to attach pictures — I suggest you look at those as well.

Great experience! We have have been here a few times, small groups. Today we showed up as a huge party of 13, no reservation, on a holiday. Shame on us, I know. The staff was awesome. They got us a table together in under 30 minutes. The food took a little longer, to be expected, but the drinks kept coming. The quality was still excellent. Everything from kids meals, to oysters, and full meals, all delicious. Kim Smith was fantastic, such a great atmosphere. Thanks for a fun and memorable Father’s Day. This place is Highly recommended.

This place has so much potential but falls flat on its face in way too many ways. The atmosphere is beautiful and they have a great deck overlooking the Neshaminy Creek, but the pros end there. The food is mediocre and over priced, the poorly managed staff apparently don’t know how to make a reservation(ours was lost or not entered into the system) but it doesn’t really matter as their reservations are meaningless. They let in a lot of walk-ins just prior to our on-time arrival then told us we have at least a 1 hour wait because they didn’t have any tables open. There are two check in stands, one inside and one for the deck, and the inept staff can not figure out how to manage the two areas via one hostess stand so it is up to the customers to go and put their names on both lists. During our ridiculously long wait for our pointless reservation, there were several open tables that were empty but they would not seat us because the kitchen was backed up — it’s apparent the back of the house is just as mismanaged as the front of the house(furthermore, our food took 75 minutes to get to us from the time we sat until the food was in front of us). We were left to wait outside in the smelly smoking section to wait for what felt like an eternity for a lackluster experience. I recommend you don’t waste your time with this place unless you are looking for a quick way to get ticked off because of poor service.

My girlfriend and I went to this place late afternoon on a hot sunny Saturday afternoon over Memorial Day weekend. The exterior and interior of the place is beautiful. Very nice along the creek where boats and jetskiers can pull up and have a bite. The outside bar was pretty filled and there was no one sitting at the tables. Since it was really hot, we wanted to sit in the shade. The hostess sat us at a 5 person table for just the 2 of us in the bright hot sun. We asked to move to the smaller table in the shade. No problem. But then table after table came in all seeking the same shade which caused a problem with the staff. Unfortunately the way they sectioned off the areas was unfair for the servers because no one wanted to sit in the sweltering 95 degree sun. So the waitresses had hissy fits in front of customers. One waitress was mad at our waitress because she kept getting seated because her section was in the shade. So mid order with our waitress, our waitress walked away to talk to the other server. Mid sentence, literally. She did not say a word, but just walked away and then didnt come back for a good 3 minutes. When she returned, she bashed the other servers saying they had never served before, blah blah, just take my drink order lady! It was apparent that all of the staff was unprofessional, on their phones, talking with each other and just, well, BAD. This place will only stay open because of the cleanliness and atmosphere. It truly is a shiny diamond among the run-down industrial part of Bensalem. The food was pretty good for a chained seafood place, but not for a stand alone charging those RIDICULOUS prices. Yo dude, this isn’t Center City. High Tides you can’t charge those prices unless you produce a better experience, especially with the horrible service staff you have. We may give it another try, but the overall consensus from the both of us is this: You may be able to take the Bensalem out of the décor but you can’t take the Bensalem out of the staff. Yikes girls, you need to get some Customer Service Training STAT.

The deck outside is nice to lookout and enjoy your dinner. The spinach and artichoke pizza was delicious! The fish tacos were alright. Overall it was a great experience!

Decided to come here for lunch because I wanted to try some place new. Pulled up and the place looks great inside and out. Walked in and were greeted and told to sit anywhere we would like. Was looking over the menu and Decided to order the gourmet wings which ok. We ordered our entrees. My girlfriend order a salad with chicken and not cheese or croutons. We asked the server if she could put tomatoes and other veggies in the salad and she said of course. I ordered the taco bowl salad with shrimp. While waiting a little over 20 min for our salads my girlfriends salad came out with romaine lettuce and a piece of chicken on it and nothing else. No tomatoes, cumbersome or any veggies that we asked our server for. My salad came out and it was ok at best. In between time I had to ask for refills of my iced tea even had to go to the bar and get one myself all while our server was texting or talking on her phone. No wonder there were only 6 people in here for lunch. 1 bartender, 2 servers, 1 cook and my girlfriend and I. Service was terrible, food was edible but the place looked really great!(sarcasm)

Went there with a friend to check out their banquet room for a party coming up. When we walked in, I let the hostess know I just wanted some info on the banquet room with their packages. At this time because she knew we weren’t going to sit down to eat, her fake, «hello welcome to high tides» was more like ‘ugh I do not want to deal with this’. So she went over to a lady at the bar(who looked like she was having a lunch date with pretty boy) to ask her where the banquet information is at, the lady turned around looked at me and my friend and put her finger up(which I thought meant I’ll be over in a minute). The hostess came back, ruffled through some papers hanging on the side of the wall and found a contact sheet and said, ‘fill this out or whatever and someone will get back to you.’ So I needed a pen. Apparently this was a huge hassle to find for a nonbusy time when I came in. Luckly, she found a pen and I was able to put down my contact info. When I was done filling out what looked like a 2nd grade template of my info, there was no one around that I could hand the sheet to. So my friend and I ponder around the place for a minute or two. Looking thru the door of the banquet room, then I turn around and see the hostess on her phone just behind the door on the kitchen. So we leave and I put the sheet on top of the hostess’ desk. Walk around outside the place for a minute… and oh guess who I see sitting on the back curb with pretty boy? The lady at the bar who pointed her finger at us. Just sitting there smoking. A week later with no phone call. That’s OK because if they somehow do call me, I’ll just hang up. If they’re too busy literally doing nothing, they won’t have any time in my busy schedule.

Can you believe that I have never added a photo to one of my reviews before? I don’t know how I didn’t notice this before. Actually now that I’m thinking about it I don’t know how. I’ll figure it out after I post this. Well the deck is pretty cool, and I came with friends so I had a good time. Does that mean that I would recommend this place? My experience with the food was mixed. Started with the oysters, which came with toppings that, to me, sounded oddly sweet: strawberry lemon, candy apple, and white cherry«Granada»(is that a food? I thought that was place in Spain, I’m going to google it later.). But, hey I’m adventurous, I’m going to eat that. They were probably the most gigantic oysters I’ve ever eaten, but not the greatest tasting. And, I really couldn’t taste the strangely colorful sweet toppings. Next time I’m going for the fried oysters(hold the Nicaragua). For my entrée I had the fish tacos and they were right on. Mahi Mahi not tilapia and the fish was nicely cooked and seasoned. It came with chips and after our food arrived I realized, almost everything we ordered came with chips. My wife had the Stuffed Airline Chicken and I don’t know why they call it that because, It’s not stuffed, It’s topped. It was good, but not stuffed. I will say that even though I didn’t try all of the food that we ordered, the chicken was probably the best tasting thing that we ordered. Service was ok, no complaints. Nothing to rave about either. Everything on the menu could be cheaper. Some things like a dollar, other things, more than a dollar. For me, sitting by the river on a hot summer day with food and drink sounds pretty nice, but if I’m going to do it at this place, it’s going to be during happy hour so I don’t have to pay full price, and I’ll probably stick to appetizers. So yes, I recommend this place. If you plan on coming with me and my friends. And we sit at the deck bar, during happy hour. And we get the coconut shrimp, and the fried oysters.

The place looks nice. That’s all the good things I can say about it. Walked in to wait for my party went to the bar the drinks are more expensive than s five star restaurant. The bartender was on her cell phone the hostess did not even greet me had to ask her where the bar is she told me I should be able to see it. Had a drink after which I looked at the menu which is nothing special. So I decided to ask a table next to me how the food was. They told me they where there the first time and the food was way below expectations for the price they where paying. Decided to leave. Nothing good about the place. Over priced drinks. Over priced food. Place empty at 5:30 on a Friday night. Put it together.

It wasn’t my first choice to come here yesterday, but some family wanted to give it a go. Yes, I’m biased. I pre-Yelp everything I do, and saw that it wasn’t a big hitter amongst the locals. We went anyway, since I wasn’t going to be a Unilocal brat or they would give me a generous eye roll. Moving on! It’s tucked away in the Bensalem/Croydon line off 13. Upon pulling up, it looked like a pretty cool place. It was pouring outside, but seemed like it would be a decent spot to hang out on the deck. We walked in and were seated promptly, there really wasn’t anyone either. I liked the appeal of the high ceilings and big windows. The fish tank was pretty nice as well. Our server was quick, but wasn’t really a ball of joy. She messed up a few drink orders and sort of was put off by that, but that didn’t really bother me too much. While waiting for our drink fixes, I had a chance to look over the menu. It’s on the smaller side, and everything on it seemed appealing. Their prices really vary on what you’re ordering, but the choices are decent. It really has a lot of potential. That being said, I ordered the Honey Sriracha Salmon topped with mango salsa, served with a side of veggies and rice pilaf. Food came out quick. My dinner was fine. There weren’t any, «OHMYGOD» moments, but I wasn’t let down. The fish was cooked nicely and had a decent flavor. Vegetables always seem to fail me at almost every place I eat at, which I’ve learned to come to terms with that situation. Rice pilaf was rice pilaf. My portion was extremely generous though. It was enough for two meals, which is a lot coming from me. There were only mild complaints around the table. Burger being cooked too well, things just being alright. Chips didn’t really taste like anything. That sort of thing. The bill came to around $ 85 for 5 people. Not too bad. Overall… it’s ok. Would I come back here? Probably not. I feel like they need some work to do on their service and food. As I previously stated, place has a lot of potential. Hopefully they get it together sooner than later to change some of their reviews!

The food deserves 4 stars but service for dinner was poor. We had a drink at the bar waiting for our table. Service at bar was fine & the view was really cool. We were seated for dinner within the time they promised. We ordered mussels for an app & a «High Tides» pizza for dinner. It took a while for mussels to come out & then they went to the wrong table. The server then brought them back inside & then finally found our table & brought them back out. In the meantime, we haven’t seen our waitress since she took our order. As we started to eat our mussels the pizza came out. So… Empty cups & no salt, pepper or grated cheese like on other tables. The manager/owner walked by & helped the tables around us & never came back in our direction. Another waitress came over & said our waitress was ill & had to go to the hospital.(We hope she’s ok.) It still took almost ten minutes to get a water & soda. Like I mentioned the food was good. We would consider returning. I would suggest they«86» the plastic plates & cups though.

Don’t waste your time or money… just sayin’. Two mussels were bad. Ever smell that? Caesar salad was dry, dressing from a bottle, no cheese. Drinks are so-so at best. Service… oh boy… waitress looked frumpy… kept walking away before we could finish speaking… short two menus… never brought out the soup… forgot one salad… doesn’t know the difference between sugar and sweeteners… never brought the dessert tray we asked for… fifteen minutes before check was delivered. Phew! There’s more but… Apologies for all the negatives, never this bad. Thought I should save someone from this. Very unprofessional, like there is no one in charge. The menu has typos and repeat listings… a joke. Have had better food in diners.

I live right up the Neshaminy Creek from this restaurant so we were very excited when it opened, since we can drive our boats &PWC right up to it & dock. The only other restaurant nearby that allows us to do this is Curtins, which is delicious, but it takes about a half hour due to the no wake zone on the creek. This area really needed another restaurant/bar that catered to boaters BUT this place falls WAY short. It is beautiful to look at(brand new construction, so it should be) but if it rains, the floors are an absolute mess & the employees dont do much to help the situation besides squeegee it and make more puddles right in the middle of the floor in muliple places. We observed who appeared to be the owner or manager fall & slam his lnee on the hard floor… thankfully it wasnt a patron, a drunk one at that. The food. Its overpriced and they need to get a new chef. It is extremely hit or miss or the proper cook of the meats and seafood. When we were there last week, it wasnt even 10 minutes after I finished eating about half of my plate before my stomach started killing me & I had to run(very carefully) to the bathroom. Now to my other issue, smoking. Many may not agree with me, but as a smoker it matters to me, & there are still quite a few especially outside the city where cigarettes are a little cheaper. There is no smoking on the OUTSIDE deck which includes the bar, even if there is no one else out there and it is raining outside and the bar having the ONLY type of cover outside besides the closed umbrellas at the outside tables… you need to go down the steps where there is absolutely NO overhang at all, so if you are eating in the restaurant waiting for food or hanging at the outside bar, you’re getting wet if not soaked… very thoughtful. Clearly, they don’t want customers hanging around spending money in their business. I will be going the extra couple miles to Curtins Wharf from now on.

As a new resident to the area, I was instantly intrigued by this place as you can see it from clear view of the road and it looks magnificient. There is a very large fish tank and bar when you walk in that make the place look very classy. I came in on a Friday and there was a decent crowd, but because the place is enourmous, you really felt like it was still empty. The other half of the bar seems like a overly large space to hold a wedding or even a band venue since it does have a small stage. But as I said before, the most alluring thing to me was the outside deck, so I almost ran outside to check it out. They have a large Tiki Bar with tables all over one side. By the time we got there it was pretty late, so unfortunately the view was pretty blocked out. The tiki bar area was pretty packed, and the crowd seemed like mostly locals, of very mixed ages. I couldn’t figure out what the bar was going for, and with a tiny little speaker for music, it actually was not that appealing to stay here on a friday night. We grabbed one drink, that was not very strong, there was no drink menu either, so overall it just lacked the luster I was hoping for. I do find it a shame that this place has such terrible reviews, but it is still pretty new, so I hope they will do better. I will give this place another shot since we didn’t try the food and during the day I think it may turn out to be a beautiful brunch spot, instead of driving all the way to New Hope.

I was extremely surprised by how much I liked this place the first time I went. I’d heard on a fishing trip that someplace in Bensalem had opened along the creek and it was a total disaster. The owners were supposed to be clueless, inexperienced, and the staff was apparently totally unprepared. But somehow I found myself at High Tides the very next day after hearing so many negative comments. To my surprise it was actually good! My entrée was far better than I was expecting and YES the service was shoddy, but it wasn’t as much of a mess as I was prepared for. The deck wasn’t really finished yet, but I could tell it was going to be nice and we enjoyed some drinks outside on one of the few tables along the railing. I did find it odd you couldn’t order food outside… I mean I know the outside bar wasn’t finished, but who cares just bring the orders inside. But either way HURRAY it didn’t suck and I was excited to tell people how good my dish was! Fast forward a couple months and damn. Just awful. None of the food was good. I got stuffed chicken which I thought MIGHT be the dish I had before, but it definitely wasn’t and whatever I’d gotten before was no longer on the menu. This stuffed chicken Marsala or whatever they tried to call it was an over sauced muddy mess. It was just unpleasant and the asparagus was borderline raw. Caesar salad was soaked in store bought crap. Mussels are the easiest thing in the world and even they were a disappointment. Barely any bread to drip in the broth which I would’ve been more annoyed about if the broth had been any good. Mussels were the best thing of the night and yet extremely mundane. Staff seemed annoyed to be working. We called ahead and they said they’d work out a table for our asseveration and even though they were prepared for us when we got there they seemed really annoyed by having to push some tables together for us. It was strange. Maybe they just don’t like their jobs, but I made an attempt to prepare them for our bigger party and seating actually went smoothly… yet the hostess still just seemed put off by it. The whole staff was kind of unpleasant and it was extremely unorganized. They had as hand our food from person to person down the table instead of bringing each dish to each person. That’s not the end of the world or anything, but it’s pretty lazy. When she brought us our drinks she was only talking to the first four people at our table and seemed frustrated none of us had ordered the Pepsi she was holding… which turned out to not even be a Pepsi. Pizza tasted odd. Onion rings were below average. And it just sucks that the one thing they did right, the food, was now just as bad as their service. There’s no reason to go here. No reason to go back. The deck is nice, but that’s not enough. The inside is designed poorly and sound echos making it hard to hear even with only a moderate crowd. You can’t talk to anyone at your table whose more then two seats away. I hope this place can do something to fix their problems because the location could be great. Throw away your menu, Bring in a good chef. And train your staff or get a new one with real restaurant experience.

First time at this establishment. It seems like an odd place to have a restaurant as it is near a bunch of houses. Location by the water and outdoor deck with bar(recently built as I’ve been told) makes it an attractive spot during the spring and summer months. Service and food is mediocre. When you’re seated on the deck, they serve drinks in plastic cups and provide plastic utensils for food. I had the garlic mojito flank salad, the dressing was too sweet and the flank should have been cut into thinner slices. It was hard to eat with a plastic knife. I assume our waitress had tables inside and outside as it was hard to get her attention for refills.

This was my second time at high tides and considering they are a new establishment, I’d say they still have work to do. I went for the opening of their deck and it was beautiful and spacious, but awfully quiet. The large space inside where the band was playing didn’t allow for the travel of sound. There was no music outside for the whole night. For all lovers of music, this is a big deal. No one likes dead air! The beer selection outside wasn’t great either. The bartender however was very familiar with his entire selection and took the time to tell me each and everyone. That was very nice of him but I’m sure got exhausting quick. I suggest getting a board or beer list. I went inside a few times to get a blue moon and overall the bartenders didn’t seem happy or pleased to be doing their job. I felt more like a bother than a patron. This is similar to how I felt the first time I was there and what my friends have told me about their experiences. I will be going back to high tides but hope that my experience is a little better considering it isn’t a cheap night out.
