The Blue Monkey Café is permanently closed, which I discovered upon trying to visit today. Of course now I see someone else mentioned it in a(4 star?!) review two days ago. I reported the closed status in the Unilocal app, by editing the business info.

Closed .they will be missed. It is a shame, the food was wonderful, and delicious, but now they are gone! I wish everyone there the best: the chefs and waitstaff included… they were great.

I have been here at least 5 times, but ONLY for the eggs benedict. def not for service. I only had good service once and that was by an older woman with short hair. after today I will NOT be returning. After waiting at least 15 minutes for a waitress to come over, I stopped a younger girl and asked about our waitress, her reply was«well its really busy». Ummm I’m pretty sure it doesn’t matter if it’s busy or not you should still give decent service. After all is said and done, my soda was completely flat, coffee had a burnt taste to it, and we waited OVER an hour for our food to come out! How does it take an hour for breakfast food. Hope you guys try and fix these problems.

So we found tis little spot on Unilocal and decided to give it a shot! We came to check out the excellent service and the French toast! I had the stuffed French toast with a side of home fries. So good! The potatoes were average but the French toast was delicious and the presentation was awesome! My boyfriend enjoyed his eggs Benedict, the hollandaise sauce was superb! The service was on point our waitress was nice, friendly attentive and we were greeted by all employees with a smile! Good service is hard to find, we can dig it!

I came to the Blue monkey café for breakfast. It is an average little diner. Nothing truly stands out here. The coffee was extremely weak. The food was actually pretty good but they sadly ran out of steak for their steak and eggs breakfast. I got chicken and waffles instead which was pretty good. Homefries were overcooked but tolerable. But the real bummer was the service. Other than the owner bringing us our initial cups of coffee and the waitress taking our order we weren’t checked on once. We literally sat there for 40 min with nothing to drink while making eye contact numerous times with our waitress in between the 38-minute periods she spent in the kitchen. It wasn’t even busy. By that point I just wanted to go home and get something to drink I was so parched.

I came here with my family to try out their highly recommended brunch, and was impressed. They have a homey, family atmosphere with a great service staff. All of them came over individually to greet us and make small talk. They definitely get to know their customers. I tried the sausage benedict special. I was initially brought the eggs benedict on their daily menu because of some confusion but the waitress quickly corrected the issue. The hollandaise sauce was fantastic! Everything was cooked perfectly and was delicious. I also tried their breakfast quesadilla with beef brisket and that was great. I’m not usually into brisket but I’d eat that any day.

Sorry to say… this place was good at times. But became more & more inconsistent(hit or miss…). today their specialty homefries(seasoned«fire roasted» potatoes) were just deep fried potato pieces without any seasoning at all… imagine French fries for breakfast !!! The 3 egg omelet which used to be incredible & huge was only ant 1⁄3 of what it used to be… looked like a kids portion. Sooooo… what used to be excellent food in big portions for a reasonable price today became very very average food in very small portions for waayyy too much money. When I called the owner(not present), he said they serve a standard 5oz omelet… I do not know what that is but I don’t see how that it should be smaller than in other establishments… it really sounded like he could care less about what our experience was… I guess if you like to take a gamble you go eat here… or maybe go to Parx Casino… I personally think that of you go eat somewhere you want to know that you can count on getting what you expect and having the owner take an interest in providing good food consistently

We love their breakfast! Delicious fried potatoes, fantastic omelets, great service and staff. Food is always hot and ready quickly. Not the swankiest place and can be a little tight when busy. Great value. Small menu but they do it right. We have never been disappointed. Would love to try their lunch.

Food was good. There for breakfast and portions were okay(though in seeing the pancakes others had would say that would be a great«deal» to order, if you are looking for that). Surprised that only 3 slices of average slices bacon was all that the«side» included. The home fries really good, but not a lot included portion-wise. The service, sadly, was REALLY slow(sat a long while before order taken after flagging a waitress, had to ask for my one and only coffee refill) including getting the food(and the place wasn’t that crowded/busy). Will try one more time — food deserves that and place is clean and nice — and just hope service better.

This café has really awesome breakfast. It’s nice and big on the inside. and so many places to sit. $ 10 for Creamed chipped beef and home fries and coffee is alot. The home fries are the best I’ve ever had. The coffee can Atleast be included in the meal. But that’s just my opinion. Still was worth it.

Tired this place today based on the other reviews. If I could have just got up and left I would have. Pancakes came out burnt, the bacon was fatty and the other stuff was just bad. So bad in fact we couldn’t eat it. The service was even worse. God forbid you asked the waitress for something. The poor lady next to me got scolded for asking for a refill of coffee because she still had a half of cup.

Wow is all I can say. I have been staring in the window for awhile now at lunch and finally saw that they are serving dinner. We just left and my family loved every bite. Food is fresh, unique and so tasty. Service is great as well. Owner is great !! I am sorry I waited so long to visit, I will definetly be back.

Went there today on a friends recommendation and they didn’t disappoint. The fried chicken lunch special was great. The chocolate chip pancakes were huge and the waitress was very attentive.

The Best breakfast, lunch café in the area, hands down. The décor is kinda cliché but the food is far from it. They have the usual breakfast and lunch foods but there are daily specials for breakfast and lunch. The food is fresh and tastes like homemade. The chefs are trained culinary students and it shows. They are innovative and not afraid to try new items on the menu. They stated that in the fall they will be open for dinner. I, for one cannot wait until then. Never a disappointment, definitely will be back.

I love this place. If you’re into breakfast(like we are), the Blue Monkey is where you need to be. You can get your usual eggs, etc. but you will notice that the sausage tastes a bit better and the potatoes are hand cut and really yummy. Add a little bit of fresh fruit to your plate(at no extra charge) and you have a «center city» style breakfast at a diner price. And, if you are willing to live a little outside of the usual breakfast foods, there is always something unique and delicious on the specials board. Also, check out their unique holiday menus. We were there on Mother’s and Father’s Day and the menus included Frosted Flake French Toast and some crazy sandwich made with a donut. Both times we invited people who have never been there and both times everyone absolutely loved it! If you are looking for a good breakfast in and around Bensalem, give it a try.
