This place is flat out gross and disgusting. There were actually ants crawling out of the bathroom sink. Stopped here due to an emergency one night, but ended up not staying. My wife was extremely ill and ended up in the hospital, and I left the cat there overnight while I stayed with her, and then the next day I went back to pay for another night since she was admitted for a few days. My mother in law was coming to stay with me, and as I explained my situation to the lady at the front desk and how there was going to be a different car there, she was going to charge me an additional $ 10 for an extra person, although I had just explained to her that one of us was in the hospital. That was strike one. Went back to the hospital, around 9am and got a very rude phone call from her an hour later about the cat meowing, and how nobody told her about the cat(who was in a crate), because her«neighbor» in 12A complained about it. Sorry it slipped my mind, guess my potentially dying wife had me a little bit more distracted than to worry about the cat. Took care of that and when my mother in law got there in the afternoon, they didn’t have a room ready for her and to come back for the key later that night. She did, around 7pm, and they still didn’t know where to put her. The man behind the counter called the lady I delt with and said«where should I stick this lady» in front of her. He then proceeded to say«12A or 12,» so they knew what they were doing. Someone lives in 12A, because the motel is used as a halfway house. To be rude, they put me in 14 and my mother in law in 12 with 12A right in the middle. 10:45 at night and they’re running around screaming and yelling with the TV and music blasting. Ended up dropping the keys in their mailbox(since they leave and no one is there after 9) by 11pm and leaving to stay elsewhere. This place reminded me of the bates motel.

Great value. Older motel, sort of a budget type. Rooms were very clean with basic accommodations, but really what more do you need? Owner was very friendly & chatty and helpful on places to eat in the area. They’ve gotten burned repeatedly lately by poorly-behaved AT thru hikers, so please if, like us, you are a hiker, please try to repair this relationship. This really is a good value for people like us.

In the budget motel category, I give them 5 stars. In this price range, I have stayed at only one that I would rate higher. Basic accommodations, but everything was clean and comfortable. And the owners are extremely nice and accommodating.

As a budget hotel, it was great. Inexpensive, clean, no frills. It is the place I like to stop at while on the road. The hosts were very accommodating and friendly. They made it a nice experience. What keeps this from a greet review is that it is owned by people out of town who might be exploiting the hosts. The semi-retired couple have no help and have now worked for 45 straight days. I do not like supporting these kinds of businesses. If corporations can do a fairer job in this market, maybe these facades of mom’s and pop’s should go?

Surprisingly fantastic! Extremely clean rooms, and very friendly service. The location can’t be beat — just 4 blocks from downtown. Rooms have coffee, microwave, fridge, and wifi. Hiker friendly. This is one of the best places I’ve stayed on the appalachian trail in this price range. Heck, even some places twice the cost haven’t been so well-maintained. If you need to stop in Bennington, this spot can’t be beat.

Would stay there again in a heartbeat. Incredibly clean. They try very hard to make the rooms homey.

This place is cheap: $ 65 a night cheap. As expected, I got what I paid for. I’m certain the rooms haven’t had any type of meaningful upgrade over the last 20 years. My room felt grimy, but the bed sheets were clean. There was a microwave, coffee maker and refrigerator, along with the requisite, albeit old and smallish TV. No wifi. The water fed heating system kicked out plenty of heat. The guy at the front desk was all smiles and Vermont friendly. Overall, I had no problems, saved some $$, but won’t stay here again.
