Hands down, the best burger I’ve had in years. I can’t imagine a cheeseburger tasting any better than this one. The fried rice with bacon and garlic is a bit salty but I still couldn’t stop eating it, even after being so full from that amazing burger. If you aren’t a fan of pink, juicy burgers, you need to order it well done because«medium» was still very pink in the middle, but man it was SOGOOD.

love this place! ethically raised food. I don’t eat much meat, but this place is totally worth it. The service is wonderful Erik the manager is incredible, Hope, Camille, and the whole crew make it a great experience. I have had many tasty things there, but here are a few that stand out: Fried rice– yum! Smokey salsa, can be special ordered, and worth it! I put it on everything! Erik has amazing, imaginative creations. steak sandwich with cabernet onions and horseradish sauce– melts in your moth. cucumber salad– never had anything so good– dill, feta, cranberries delightful! also pick up some jowl bacon, I use it for cooking and flavoring dishes., it is really really good GREAT hamburger, pick up a pound, needs no spices or flavoring, just grill it up. Juicy, unreal. I got a rib\eye as well, could cut it with a butter knife. The bacon is amazing. Like candy. I even ate lima beans there. And liked it. This is a Bend treasure!

Tillamook cheddar burger was exellent. Pulled pork Sandwich was exceptional. My son said that he could eat the Brussels sprouts every day. I would have to agree. Brussels sprouts and bacon are a match made in heaven.

Had to change my review to five stars. Management reached out and explained the credit card situation and why he chose to cut the card and half. Couldn’t have asked for better service or concern in doing the right thing. Such a pleasure to do business with people like this.

Omg this place has awesome food and I can’t wait to go back. We had the brisket and I kid you not it was the best I have ever had! Their menu is extensive and filled with items I can’t wait to try. It’s a tiny place and not easy to find but it is worth seeking out. Camille was Working at the register and told us the chef is doing a great job creating a delicious menu. This is my new favorite lunch place!

Love love love Pono. I can’t eat beef from anywhere else. They are always helpful with selecting the right cut, I had the best rib eye of my life from Pono. A big favorite lunch spot. They make everything from scratch, and I have never been disappointed. Best burger in town, the brussels sprouts are out of this world, the cucumber salad is amazing, and when they offer smoked tomato salsa, go for it. The service is outstanding as well. Well done!

Wow did not even know they served food. Great French dip. Super personal service. I need to go back and try a burger and some of the ribs. Low key casual and small solid menu.

Changing my review because Pono Farms dealt with my issue with them in a great way. Thanks!

This place is not just a great lunch spot, it’s also a community around ethically raised meat. It’s a pleasure to eat here, pick the brain of the knowledgeable counter staff and back of the house help on various cuts of meat and cooking techniques. They go out of their way to make you feel welcome and help demystify their product. Get the fried rice as a side, it’s divine. Their bacon is very special and their meat is amazing. A must stop.

Pono has the best product in town and possibly the state. All the meat showcased is their own. This is what meat is supposed to taste like. All the in house made sausages, pastramis, bacons ect… are then showcased in sandwiches and plate specials. The chef and manager allows the product to speak for itself, while enhancing the flavors. The sandwiches, sides and specials are always spot on. Best lunch in town. The staff is friendly and knowledge. Get them talking about their operation and you’ll instantly understand their passion for the business. If you are locavore, foodie, conscious about what you put in body or how your food is raised or you just like good food, this is the place.

Pono has the best meat in town. Period. They’re expensive, but the quality is so awesome. They’re a very eco– and health-conscious store and very responsible. They have the best burger in town, and it doesn’t weigh you down like a lot of the greasy, signature burgers in town. Check out the Tillamook Jalapeño Cheddar burger or Cheese Steak — You can’t go wrong.

Pono is a truly excellent custom butcher and meat deli. They open for lunch only, and close at 4pm. Their Texas Chilli(all beef, no beans) was of excellent quality, but so spicy that it blew my head off and I could not eat it. Their Pastrami Reuben was amazing, and one of the best I have had outside New York. I have no doubt that their steaks and other cuts will be outstanding as well. If ya want the best in fresh meat, then this is where ya got ta go.

Best place in Bend. Great place for lunch or to get local meats! Everything, humanly harvested and delicious! I have had a lot of things on the menu and haven’t found anything I don’t like. My favorite is the Ruben but followed closely by the French dip!!! A must try. Great local company and love supporting this kind of business in Bend.

I was stoked to visit this place for lunch because of their hormone/antibiotic free meats but was astonished to find out that the cheeses were conventional cheese from city market. They promote hormone free pasture raised meats but don’t support the all around ethic. The brisket sandwich(sans the cheese) was tender and delicious but my boyfriends cheese steak sandwich left something to be desired. He added a side of au jous which definitely improved the flavor. They do get bonus points for selling pasture raised chicken eggs for 6 $ and having an amazing meat selection and great sale items.

This place never disappoints. Everything I have had here is amazing. From the peartree smoked pork shoulder, to the bacon and garlic fried rice, to the brunwick stew. Today I had the special which was the chicken fried steak and holy crap was it amazing. Just watch out because you get a lot of food. Definitely a good thing.

We’ve been back several times since I first reviewed this place and everything was excellent each time. We’ve tried various menu items and all rated 5 star as did several of the sausages that we bought and took home. The smoked kielbasa was incredible. I’m updating the review because of the one star reviews that have been posted in the last few weeks. I don’t think that these reviews are fair or honest. If you check out the number of reviews that each of the one star reviewers has posted, in most cases the one star reviewer has posted only one review — a one star review for this place. I think someone has a chip on their shoulder. You owe it to yourself to go and give this place a try. If it is anywhere near as bad as these one star reviews indicate you’ll be able to tell when you walk in the place. If that is the case then turn around and walk out. But what you will find there is a clean place with a friendly staff, some great meats and a lunch that you won’t soon forget. Yes it is a bit pricey but this is one of those cases where you more than get what you pay for.

Great meats, but not cheap. Can’t always find what you are looking for, but what is there is excellent. Probably the best French dip sandwich I have ever had! Reallly good burgers, especially the bacon cheeseburger. All of the sides are of equal quality, but you never know what’s going to be on the board. They always have fries and they are always good. No skimping on the portions. While they have a few beers, they really need to do wine. Better yet, they should open a steakhouse next door! If the front house was done right and they added baked potatoes and green salad it would probably be shooting for a Michelin star or Beard Award. Heck, the deli should get get a Beard Award.

Not easy to find, but worth the hunt. Lunch was wonderful. Provolone cheesesteak with onions, mushroom and jalapeños for me, pork pastrami Reuben for my friend. Both were excellent. A side of hand cut fries, a winner. Menu changes regularly, great variety, beer, lots of other non alcoholic drink choices. Not a lot of ables, no one was waiting, but get there erly for lunch would be my take on things. I heard someone raving about the Brussels sprouts, so that will be on my lat of thins to try for next time. Nice wait staff, clean, quick. I will definitely return.

Yes, I too read it Porno Farm when I first saw their ad in our local paper. My eye to brain inserted that«r» in there. But Pono — P O N O — is apparently a Hawaiian word meaning«righteousness» or thereabouts. Pono Farm is a great concept — combination butcher and specialty food kitchen serving meat to go and food cooked to order. It has a few tables for eating in. No liquor license to date, but I understand there are plans to sell beer in the future. Pono Farm sells a quality product — premium local beef and pork meats from animals that are humanely raised, slowly grown and naturally fed. They sell pork meats from both Berkshire and a rare Red Waddle breed, as well as Wagyu(Kobe) and Angus beef. They also feature a small selection of entrees, using their product and not exceeding $ 10, and side dishes. Pono Farm has good visibility — for drive by on a corner site at Hunnell and Cooley Road, not far from the Cascade Village Shopping Center. Pono Farm has lousy access — into the shop from the parking lot, almost having to crawl under a hand railing barrier or walk far around to avoid it to get onto the sidewalk and to the front door, There is a small cut out right near the front door to get up on the sidewalk, but if a vehicle parks at that spot — as has been our repeated experience, it also blocks easy access to that entry point.(May be helpful to have ‘no parking” sign at the one location to ensure the pathway to the door there remains unimpeded?) Hope the awkward access because in addition to good products to sell, these folks have already demonstrated their good neighbor orientation — holding a fund raiser for Japan relief efforts not long after opening.(The owner has born in Japan.) Apparently Pono Farm also raises egg laying chickens and rumor is they may open for breakfast in the future. My husband and I stopped eating beef nearly 20 years ago, largely for concerns about the cruelty of feed lot husbandry. Had we access to humanely, range raised, beef like this, maybe we would have stayed beef eaters. No matter, because we’ll go to Pono for the humanely raised pork products as we have continued to eat pork from producers with good husbandry practices. Assuming Pono Farm is not, as it was today, just too much hassle to try to get up on the sidewalk from the parking lot. to get into the door. To another reviewer’s comment that the City of Bend(COB) required the owners to install these handrail /barriers, this is example of how poorly managed is the COB building division. That the owners were required to put in these handrails as a accessibility safety measure now because of the poor siting of the sidewalk, is because the COB didn’t pay attention to the siting layout of this building at the time it was constructed. Had the city staff done that when this building was drawn on paper plans or even in site inspections during construction, the outcome would not have had to involve adding a handrail barrier several years after the fact of building construction. Which is not the fault of Pono owners. But it is barrier to getting in the door all the same. I hope it doesn’t impact their business as it is a good business.
