Love this place. The food is solid, and the servers are Friendly. We finally bellied upto the bar for some Afternoon spirits… She was friendly and the drinks were good. Also great for lunch, and it won’t break the bank.

Went by just to pick up a credit card left by a co-worker. Stood at the hostess desk and was ignored for a solid 10 minutes. Thought about taking my shirt off to see if that would help. Finally got the credit card and promptly left. Based on that I would skip this place.

Wow, what a terrible experience! …go to Greg’s Grill instead! The staff there are so pleasant and accommodating! Their food is Amazing!!! And their happy hour is all day!!! AND you don’t have to fight for seating! Anywho, back to Pine Tavern, a couple of my coworkers and I met up for happy hour and apparently it’s first come, first serve and the place was packed. People were swarming around like vultures trying to snag a table, after about 20 minutes we finally scooped one up.(After getting my head chewed off for attempting to grab a table that was apparently already spoken for) All of the staff looked miserable and were overall unpleasant. I ordered the chicken quesadilla and discovered it came with bacon(It didn’t state that on the menu and I don’t eat bacon) No biggie, I returned it, but the waitress never removed it from the bill. Again, don’t waste your time with this place! The seating sucked. Their customer service sucked… the Mac n cheese was bomb!

Really disappointed in the Pine Tavern last night after giving them multiple chances. Went in just for dessert this time and ordered the Mud Pie. I have had this dessert here before and it was excellent. This time it had about a half inch layer of clear gooey ice showing just how old the ice cream was. Also the part that still looked like ice cream had giants shards of ice in it and tasted so old. The half inch layer of gooey ice that clearly did not look like ice cream is very easy to notice, I have no idea why they even served this to us. For an $ 11.95 dessert you expect a little more than this… The first time we had eaten here for Happy Hour everything tasted like it came straight from the freezer. Safe to say third time was not the charm and we will not be back, or ever recommend this place to someone. There’s plenty of other great places here for more reasonable prices to recommend. Oh and on top of it, when I got my change back they didn’t even bother to bring the nickel back with it. Apparently they only give change back to the whole dollar and don’t do coins here.

Two nights ago, for my son’s and my birthdays, we chose to go to Pine Tavern for a much anticipated birthday meal after a long, fun day on Bachelor. As always, Pine Tavern didn’t disappoint! I had the prime rib and my husband had the filet… our waiter Lance was awesome; he suggested a fabulous cab that sealed the evening, and to top it off, surprised us with a slice of their yummy mudpie for our bday dessert! Just a great evening. Thanks again!

Normally great went today for happy hour. Ordered clamp strips. Since owner(Mccormick) is seafood background I figured would be good. Think came out of frozen box… all batter no clam. I expected small portion but good seafood

We went in for a night cap in their bar area. Their selection for happy hour is great. I ordered pretty much one of everything. All the food tasted great. I liked the Mac and cheese the best! The staff was friendly and it had a good atmosphere.

We made a reservation here and showed up after they were supposed to have been open but the door was locked and has the closed sign up. We could see people inside and tried to get their attention but they ignored us. It was about 15° outside so making customers wait in the freezing cold past when the restaurant is supposed to be open is pretty silly. We’ve eaten here before and the food is alright but not great but we wanted to give it another shot. That was a mistake though and we won’t be going back.

The Pine Street Tavern is a very nice restaurant right next to a river. The restaurant had very nice waiters and the food was very scrumptious. I personally got the pulled pork sandwich and it tasted like heaven. The lemonade was hand squeezed and it was a tiny bit tart which I love. Overall this is the best establishment I have ever been to.

Always nice to grab a bite and a cocktail. Our recent dinner experience to celebrate a birthday was excellent. Prompt service(Ian), awesome food, and one of the best cocktails I have ever had(Cascade Vesper). Recommend for special dinners or an intimate gathering for friends. Lunch is great too, even though the scones are missing.

The only reason its getting a 2 star review is because their happy hour is okay. Decent deals for alright food, but thats about the only time their food is acceptable. We went for dinner on a Saturday and was surprised that it was dead, but it made sense once we got our food. The steak was so weirdly done on my salad it tasted like charcoal. The rest of the salad was okay so I’m glad to see they didn’t mess up lettuce. This place would be okay if they didn’t think it was acceptable to charge what they are. I would never get anything out of happy hour and would pay less everywhere else in town for WAY better food.

Had heard that they were offering brunch. Being one that loves brunch, figured I’d give it a try. Definitely won’t be returning(unless maybe it’s for evening beverages). Went to the back(garden) room where it was supposed to be a bit more quiet, but the Dean Martin style music was a wee bit too much. I’m fine with a couple songs in the«crooning» style, but after about 15 minutes or so, enough was enough. Headed up to the bar area where it felt more comfortable(it could be that they cater to the 90’s age group in the back). While the servers and staff were great, I almost walked out because the food was so horrible. The biscuits tasted like Poppin’ Fresh Biscuits from the container. The cajun style sausage with my omelet tasted like it also came from a can(the cajun bean absolutely had to have come from a can — I asked for no bay shrimp — my guess is they hand picked them out because the taste was still there)…simply not anything I would ever recommend to anyone. Hate to be negative, but my guess is that they stay in business because of the drinks at night or out-of-towners.

Gorgeous view out on the patio. The prices are a little steep based on amount of food but the atmosphere was top notch. I had the chicken fried chicken. The chicken was excellent but the mashed potatoes were barely warm without any gravy. My husband got the filet and said it was excellent but his baked potato was small. For the price, please use a large potato and make the customer feel like they are getting their money! The children’s half turkey sandwich was real turkey and our daughter was very happy with the serving. The servings are not large and if you were really hungry you should order an appetizer or salad. The drinks were a decent pour. The scones with honey butter were really yummy! Overall, despite the price to serving size we would come back. Btw we have had happy hour here and feel like it is a great value but they only offer it in the bar, not the patio:(

We decided to stop in while on vacation at Sunriver this year after all, since we heard the restaurant had been sold to new owners. We were hopeful that the new owner had come to his senses and brought this place back to it’s former glory days. Sadly, we left, agreeing that were truly done. I think others are in agreement as the dining room was half full during prime dinner hours. THEYCHARGE1.50PER scone after the little basket they bring your table. Can you imagine a mexican restaurant doing that with their chips, or a restaurant doing that with their rolls or bread? Are you kidding me? The scones cost around .26 to make, if that. To add insult to injury they wouldn’t bring any to our table until everyone’s order was put in the kitchen. Apparently they are worried you will eat the scones and run??? Then they CHARGEYOUFORMORETHANONEREFILLON A POP!!! Our server had an attitude from the beginning. She did loosen up over time. I saw they were having«Martini Monday» on their menu and decided to try one. A few minutes later the server came back and informed me that the special was only for the bar. Nowhere on the menu did it say that and I was ordering from a regular dining room menu — not the bar menu! The food was ok. I expect more than ok for the prices they charged. This is not a cheap restaurant. My husband found something black and chunky floating in his pop and the server didn’t even apologize. I hate being nickel and dimed. The new owner must be one greedy son of a gun. I will be surprised to see this place stay in business at the rate they are going. The nostalgia and hype will only carry you so far for so long. Good luck. We won’t be back. There are so many awesome restaurant options in Bend — sadly this is not one of them.

My friends were raving about this place and said had to come here before I left town. The main reason was actually for their scones,(served as dinner bread, fresh and hot out of the oven, they make small batches all night long) which aren’t available until 5pm. So we arrived right at 5 naturally. Ordered dinner and was waiting for the scones when they said they were running behind. We all finished our meals which were pretty good, we all ordered the chicken fried chicken which was amazing… But back to the scones. There are three tables around us asking for the scones as well… the table next to us just came for them. Long story short we waited over an hour for them and they were absolutely amazing when we did get them so I clearly understand what all the fuss was about coming here. I’m just baffled on the massive delay as they should have been a little better prepared as this is apparently something everyone comes here for on a nightly basis. Which I can totally see why once we got them. And a kudos to the server who did damage control and comped us a dessert as an apology for the wait. I’ll be back, make sure the scones are ready lol!

What once was great is no more. We have been going to Pine Tavern every year as part of our annual 4th of July vacation. The scones, amazing appetizers, great service and amazing main courses kept us coming back year after year. This year the tradition ended for the following reasons 1. The great appetizers are gone. No more amazing Brie 2. Ok service. The service started off shaky with a grumpy waiter but he did perk up 3. The scone embargo. Let’s be honest one of the reasons why this place is popular is the scones that are warm, tasty and plentiful. Now you get a basket of scones for the table and any additional scones are $ 1.50 each. No, not for another basket but for each additional scone. Can you imagine any other restaurant doing that with their table bread? The main course is still great but honestly you can get great main courses elsewhere

Meeting up with some friends we hadn’t seen in over a year. They are from the area, so we asked them for a suggestion for a late lunch. She used to come here while growing up for family special occasions and hadn’t been here in years. She was very excited to come back. Walked in to a very nicely decorated restaurant. There is a bar behind the check in that looked very comfortable. We were asked if we wanted to sit inside or out. We chose inside as it was a 90 plus day. They took us to the back portion of the restaurant to seat us. Our table was right next to the Pine tree that grows right through the middle of the restaurant. Our water brought us some water and the menus and asked for our drink orders. The guys each had a beer, my friend had a Pinot Noir that she said was very good and I ordered a Mai Tai. The Mai Tai was very good, flavorful and not too strong. But strong enough that I decided to wait to drink the majority of it until I had some food in my stomach. Our orders were the Blue Plate Special, which today was roast turkey, stuffing and mashed potatoes. My girlfriend ordered one of their specialty salads, I don’t remember which one, but she said it was delicious. My husband and I couldn’t decide, so we ordered a reubin and their fish and chips and split them. The ruebin was wonderful, real nice slices of corned beef, a very good sauce, and a generous portion of sourkraut. It came with home made chips and a pickle. The fish and chips were very good as well, 3 large pieces of cod in a light batter, a good house made tarter and french fries. It was a very nice experience, prices a bit spendy, but we felt that it was worth it.

I hate to say it, but I’m renaming this place«Bland Tavern». Iconic restaurant, and according to their menu history it’s been around since the 1930’s. So, I’m bummed to give it a less than stellar review. I’m a diehard fan of shopping local and supporting local restaurants, but a woman can only take so much. We went for lunch. Nice hostess, nice waitstaff. Ordered the calamari for a starter, it looked promising. Turns out it was soggy, undercooked with too much breading and was tasteless. Lunch choices based on waiters recommendations, dungeness crab open faced on english muffin for me, salmon club for my partner. No flavor. The crab and salmon could have been anything, no distinctive flavor at all. My partner jokingly said the only seasoning in the kitchen is a very small salt shaker. $ 18.95 for the crab, I think a hot house tomato was in the budget. And not to over condiment the salmon club, but a half a teaspoon more of mayonnaise would have gone a long way. It’s got all of the makings of a great place. Beautiful locale overlooking the river. Sorry, I won’t be back.
