Unfortunately this is not a great review of one of our long time favorite restaurants in Bend. Yet another special occasion event and Ariana was the go to place to celebrate. In the past and to some extent this still is the premium restaurant in Bend. Small, intimate, and a great reservation. It has always felt like a locals place and they remembered you were there during the bad years. We’ve enjoyed many meals there since they have opened. Not so on our last visit. We had an early reservation and few had been seated before our table but we all got attitude, serious attitude, when we were greeted and shown to our table. It seems like the girl(out of respect I won’t use your name) seating us was not ready for her public and we were a bother or just another group of stupid tourons with a black card. Don’t greet your guests as they are beneath your station in life … We don’t mind spending money for a great eating experience but this night was terrible. Aside from being snubbed by hostess our waiter seemed ready for us to leave before we even ordered drinks. Our group that night was very capable of spending a couple of hours and two or three bottles of wine so a $ 600 tab was well within our desires. Hostess, waiter, and now or order. We ordered two appetizers and asked about the Salmon Tartare … is it enough to share with four of us? Waiter kind of grinned and said maybe … so we ordered a $ 16 appetizer along with carpaccio … When the appetizers arrived with some justification fanfare for the salmon it was so embarrassing to see the presentation of maybe a 1⁄8 cup of salmon and we divided it up like we were on an episode of Seinfeld. Yum? hard to tell as there was not enough to even get a taste. Dinner was less and average for all of us maybe due to how the evening started … it all was not so good. We finished our meal and got out of there and went someplace else to have to good time which is why we go out. In the past the owners really cared about their guests and the wait staff about experience and their tip … someone needs to wake up and fix yourself, if you don’t know you need fixing you soon will ! We will not return or recommend until we hear something has changed … our evening was terrible. Why I gave three stars is out of respect for all the great meals we have enjoyed over the years …

Just had one of my all-time best dinners here! My husband said his filet mignon was the best steak he’d ever had. I thoroughly enjoyed the scallops with crab risotto. Oh and the burrata appetizer? Don’t miss it! Our server made the evening, too. Wish I could remember his name. We will definitely be returning!

Just had dinner for three at Ariana in Bend Oregon. This restaurant is in a small space. It is extremely noisy and very crowded. The food was great. The service was terrible because the server was cold and aloof. Part of a special dining experience should include a warm welcoming staff. The hostess was incredibly almost hostile and the server wash“t much better. I was actually angry when we left which prompted this review. I will never go back to spend that kind of money to feel so angry by the end. I don’t recommend this place unless you don’t care about the experience and just want to eat over priced good food which you can find anywhere.

Ate here for the first time with a friend who had already been fortunate enough to have eaten here before. We made our own tasting menu, starting with the marinated calamari which was zesty and excellent. We then had the beet salad and Ariana salad, both of which were very fresh and tasty. Next we shared the scallops, filet mignon and duck main courses, all of which were excellent. The wine list was fairly broad and we ordered a split of french chablis and a nice napa cab to go with the meal. This has to be the best restaurant in Bend– be sure to make reservations, as it is not a large place. Enjoy!

We went here to celebrate my boyfriends 30th birthday. Make sure to make a reservation if you plan on going at 7 pm. The service was great, not in your face but attentive enough to make you feel important. The food at all levels was delicious! We had the carpaccio appetizer that was very flavorful and satisfying. It was recommended by out waitress. :) next we had the pork chop served with the most amazing croquettes I ever had in my life. Perfectly crispy and perfectly creamy on the inside. My boyfriend had the scallops with lobster risotto that was delightful! We ended the night with the chocolate soufflé! It came with ice cream and caramel corn and was the perfect combination. Amazing night and experience!

You can forget requesting reservations at a decent table in the small establishment. You can also for about special occasions. Meaning u less you no someone who knows someone you not getting in at the time you would like. The food is good but not worth the hassle of trying to get in. Go across the street to one of the breweries and have a better time.

O to the M to the G!!! Oh my goodness this place is ! Fine dining in Bend… who knew and the food here does not disappoint. We’ve had this place on our radar for over a year. Me and the hubs wanted to save it for a special occasion so Valentine’s Day weekend was the perfect opportunity to finally give it a try. The restaurant is quite small and felt very intimate. We weren’t able to get reservations that weekend but we’re able to snag a lovely spot at the bar. It was very comfortable and the lighting was dim and romantic. We decided on the chefs menu with the wine pairing. The presentation was comprised of 5(would have preferred 6) delectable courses that tantalized our every tastebud. The wine pairing that accompanied each treat took things over the top! Using seasonal ingredients guaranteed full favor and freshness which is the only way it should roll. $ 100 bucks each means I won’t be coming here every week but 3 or 4 times a year will now be a must. On a sour note, and why I’m only giving them four stars is because the older lady bartender with blond hair was super snooty. She wasn’t interested in being friendly and wore a scowl on her face the entire time. I asked her a question about a drink she was mixing for another patron and she acted annoyed and halfheartedly answered me while her back was turned. I had no clue what she even said haha. So rude! I then asked for a dirty martini. What I got was what tasted like pure vodka, missing the dirty. The woman bartender was so unfriendly, I didn’t even bother asking for more olive juice and laughed when a gal sitting next to me had the same problem but didn’t hesitate asking for more. This bartender really needs to work on her dirty martini skills LOL. I also overheard her snap at one of the waitresses which wasn’t very professional either. She’s in the service industry and it’s important to put on a good face, even if you don’t feel like it. I had to do it myself for many many years. She’s a reflection of the business and the owners of this restaurant are not being served well by her demeanor and why I felt important to mention in this review. That said, and in my opinion, she really needs to work on her social skills or find another line of work. Although the bartender put a little dark cloud over our night, everyone else(especially our waitress) was lovely and I look forward to going back again. Hopefully we’ll get different bartender next time too!

Couldn’t have been better! Food and Service was on point. Made reservations based on Unilocal reviews since we were in town on vacation. Our choice reaffirmed when we casually asked a bartender at another restaurant what he thought of Ariana. He quickly responded with«best restaurant in town» So happy we chose to celebrate our special occasion here. We will be back the next time we return to Bend.

I took my mom there for her 60th birthday last week. I made reservations there three weeks ago and they gave us the worst table in the restaurant-right by the door and everyone hit us as them came in. The blonde hostess was one of the most unfriendly people I have ever encountered, especially at a location that costs over a $ 100 for dinner. The hostess must be the owner because she was very stuck up and worthless. This dinner was a special occasion and we felt extremely rushed by the waiter. The food was good, but not good enough to make a trip back. We went to Barrio beforehand for a drink and they were extremely friendly. I wish we would have stayed there for dinner instead. For a meal that cost $ 100+ it was not worth the drive into Bend. We will not be back or recommend to anyone.

It was a perfect night with all aspects of the experience done to perfection! Service by Ron was attentive, friendly and, what every foodie desires, knowledgeable. We started with delicious cocktails made by a skilled bartender. We all decided to have the Chef’s Tasting Menu and from the first bite to the last we were amazed. The radiccio, pear, smoked almond, parmesan salad & Oregon black truffle risotto were my favorite courses but the entire experiance was magical. Reservations were absolutely necessary; the restaurant was completely full on Wednesday night at 6:15pm. The space is small, intimate and lovely. Yes, the cost made it a special occasion night, but it is worth the price!

I booked a table for two 15 mins before we arrived. I was lucky because I was sure the place would be booked out on a Saturday night. We decided to go with the chefs menu of five courses. We paired it with the matching wines. The food was amazing. It must be mushroom season as three of the five dishes had mushroom or truffles in it. All of the dishes were outstanding. I particularly enjoyed the scallops which mushroom bisque and truffle shavings(shapes like caviar). At $ 100 for 5 courses and 5 wines. It is on the pricey side but well worth it!

Ariana is just fantastic from start to finish. The atmosphere is so pleasant, and relaxed, and the service is so friendly, professional, and non-pretentious. My wife and I have visited Ariana probably 6 times in the past year, both with reservations, and not. Sitting at the bar is very intimate, if you can have such a setting, but fully alive with action. Getting to see the crew and Chef in the kitchen bust ass to make dish after dish of finely perfected food and flavor combinations is a treat. The cocktails, are the best I have experienced in Bend. They use fine ingredients, with great measurements, and outstanding flavor and palate combinations. You will not get flair and flaming fishbowls, but every cocktail is a blast on the taste buds. The wine list is liberal with region, and complimentary with price range and varietal. Fairly strong on domestic, but also a good splash of champagne and Italian. For our dinner, we went once again with the chefs menu. It’s always changing, where as the menu seems to not change as frequent. Not to play the menu down, it’s outstanding with roasted bone marrow bones, and a wide array of lamb, trout, short ribs, etc. For the frequent flyer, the Chefs menu(as we had tonight) consisted of a vegetable(heirloom tomato and burrata cheese), seafood(Seared Diver scallop and celery bisque with a celery root slaw), poultry(Foie Gras with toasts, grilled peach and arugula), Beef(fillet with crispy onions), and a rendition of peach shortbread, with a salty, buttery biscuit, with cream, that was worth pissing yourself over. We paired the first courses with a ’11 William Fevre Chablis in 375ml, opened our own ’10 Ayoub Dundee Hills Chard, and finished the last two courses with a ’07 Rioja, off the generous half bottle list. The wine list worked very well with the dishes, and there was also suggested pairings, with the chefs menu for an additional $ 35. The food at Ariana, after 6 visits, has been absolutely spot on, flawless, and remarkably consistent. It’s one of the best restaurants I’ve been in, both for the presence, location, food quality, service, and price. It’s thee very best on all levels. It is the culinary crown of Bend!

Pretty good meal. We had a carpaccio(sl under seasoned) uni risotto(perfect tooth, great flavor), veal chop(also under seasoned but the gremolata definitely makes it pop, pepper glaze too mild) and the most perfect short rib and Parmesan polenta I have ever tasted. Our caramel boudino was also out of this world. Not perfect but excellent, worthwhile and definitely worth the price. Awesome service from Destiny(not the Child, the actual person).

(This is reviewing after my visit in Jan 2015) This chef is amazing. Very impressive, innovative food/dishes. Great service. My only wish is that they were in a bigger building as the table seating is cramped… and so that my impulsive nature would allow me to drop in instead of making reservations. I love that the owner will special order or make a dish specifically for you if you request it in advance. Props! You guys are doing it right!

Truly Impressive Food and Service! I’m going to have to agree with others when I say without hesitation that this restaurant is the absolute best fine dining Bend has to offer. We first visited in June 2015 for our anniversary. I can’t believe we never ate there before. To start, the waiter was incredibly knowledgeable about the food he served and was great at helping to make recommendations for us to try something new, Carpaccio, which was absolutely divine. The entire menu except one item was GLUTENFREE!!! We even got some of the most delicious GF bread n butter I have ever had. I ordered the scallops and will definitely be ordering it again. They were atop a bed of delicious and light risotto which was on top of a huge pile of thick, fresh crab, OMG! My husband had the filet mignon. It was absolutely divine and melted in our mouths. The crème brûlée was PERFECT! It was unadulterated with no strange flavors added, smooth as silk and had the perfect crispy burned sugar layer. We will be back, repeatedly.

I’ve been here twice. It is a small restaurant set inside of a little house that is very cozy and romantic. The beef carpaccio with truffle oil and horseradish crème fraîche was fantastic both times. Other apps we ordered were burrata with tomatoes, roasted bone marrow, and roasted beet salad with watercress and goat cheese — all delicious. Various entrees I’ve tasted — decadent gnocchi carbonara, complete with a soft egg on top; house made papardelle with braised pork shoulder with fresh ricotta cheese; diver scallops with lobster risotto; and filet mignon with brandy peppercorn sauce and a bacon and chive stuffed potato. No complaints on any of those! Most recently, I tried the spinach and ricotta cannelloni made with fresh pasta. It had the most delicious marinara sauce I’ve ever had, no joke. For dessert, you have to try salted caramel budino — like a butterscotch pudding with salted caramel. To die for. We also had some great wines at the suggestion of our fabulous server(the service here is consistently stellar). The bar is also excellent and makes classic drinks like Pisco Sours or Pimm’s Cups with precision. Best restaurant in Bend!
