It’s free and a great way to get out of the heat. The revolving exhibition was on Indians. Lot of neat pictures and clothing. One area was a geological exhibit with objects found from different time periods. The exhibit on Bell County was really interesting. A timeline from beginning to end. There are 15 or 20 wooden models of big fancy houses in the area. That was really neat. Someone put a lot of painstaking work into these. Well worth seeing if in the area.

Free. Donations are appreciated, and after what we saw, I would encourage it. Surprisingly, they’ve done a great job with it for not charging. Very interactive. Great for little kids about 4+. Especially the cotton cards kids can play with. Lots of different exhibits and the main exhibit. Call ahead and check for explorer digs for kiddos and other events. Great place to cool off during the hot day. Lots of interesting info about Central Texas and American history. Definitely give it a chance if you happen to be in the area. Downtown Belton also has some great shopping, little privately owned shops, and some great mom and pop restaurants. What do you have to lose? Go check ‘em out!
